Blue Mountain Vacation Home by Palmerton 47 Acres Hiking Trails Pickleball Court

Located just 2 miles from the Valley Lodge of the Blue Mountain Ski Resort make this convenient for skiing, mountain biking, festivals and weddings at the resort. For those that just want to get away, our 46 acre property has over 1.5 miles of private trails make our Pocono vacation home a great getaway from it all for you, friends/family and your especially your dogs. Leave the leashes at home! Pet-friendly 3BR, 2 Bath house with huge deck, a patio and fire pit facing the sunset and Blue Mountain in southern Poconos.

Sports Court for Pickleball, Basketball and outdoor fun offers a beautiful setting for your competitive side (net paddles and balls provided). Two new couches in living room, bigger TV and new sofa bed in the basement were also added in 2023. In 2024 we added a Tesla Charger and more trails and a remote picnic grove.

House comfortably sleeps 8 people (2 queens, 2 full and a pullout queen in the basement.) Crib and high chair are provided. Dog door onto the deck lets dogs run in and out if you'd like, you can block them from leaving the deck.

Open concept kitchen with newer appliances, dining area and living room connect to the deck for great gatherings and an awesome view. Finished basement with game room (pool table, glow in the dark air hockey and big screen TV). The house has central air conditioning and high-speed Internet with WiFi.

The house is set back from the road and surrounded by 47 acres of land and 1.5 mile of grass covered and gravel private walking/hiking trails. Hike up to the top of Stony Ridge and see for miles.

STAY LONGER: 12% discount is automatically applied to full week rentals, 20% for a full month.

Nearby you will find Blue Mountain Ski Resort (all-year adventure), the Appalachian Trail, Beltzville State Park and Lehigh River Gap. 20 minutes away is Jim Thorpe which has several river outfitters that offer kayaking, rafting and tubing down the Lehigh River. You can also rent bikes in Jim Thorpe or Lehighton to ride along the D&L Trail (next to the river). Beltzville Lake State Park has a nice beach and a marina to rent boats. The town of Palmerton has a nice grocery, restaurants and shops. Not too far away is Country Junction, billed as the world's largest General Store and no visit is complete without a visit to Becky's Drive-in movie theater in Cherryville and the Penn's Peak concert venue.

We have high-speed Internet, broadband through the local cable company. Speed is up to 100Mbps Download / 8Mbps Upload. WiFi reaches throughout the house, the deck, the patio and even cars in the driveway for those work calls.

This was our 2nd time coming to celebrate Sukkot with our friends and family at this place. It is perfect for everything we needed and the property is beautifully kept. Great property to explore. We went on a hike almost every day and could take a different path every time. The porch overlooking the mountain was an awesome place to have morning coffee. Great memories a very responsive host makes for a great value.

Spring Break

Such a great property and host! We especially loved hiking around the property and to the picnic area. The house has everything you might need, and lots of fun things for all ages (teens to toddlers). The huge deck and fire pit were a hit with everyone. The location was convenient and close to lots of activities. We ended up needing to go to the urgent care in Palmerton (always an adventure traveling with small children), and I can vouch for the care there as well!

Weekend family trip

We couldn’t have asked for a better property to accokodate the 3 generations staying for a long weekend. Whether is was greeting sone much needed rest reading a good book on the deck or patio, the teenagers and young adults enjoying outdoor motorized sports, or coupes enjoying the acres of trails, everyone enjoyed themselves. The house was cozy and comfortable for the group and the kitchen was well stocked with basic needs. Great property and we could not have chosen a better home for our needs

Our family of 7 plus our 2 dog babies had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. Our Golden retriever Maggie Mae especially loved the property. She has been sad since we left. House is adorable & nicely furnished. We cooked 3 meals & had everything we needed. Loved the new gas grill. Deck was great for star gazing at night. We hiked the property several times & hung out at picnic area. This house was one of our favorite & the town is so cute! We will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. The house was great and provided everything we could need. The property around the house was fantastic, we enjoyed walking the trails and hiking up the ridge. Palmerton was a few minutes away and had several places to get food, including Claude's Creamery for some great ice cream. The NE Turnpike extension access is close by in Lehighton as well for going North or South. We were able to easily get to many places from here, such as Hershey Park, Baltimore Aquarium, shopping on Macarthur Rd in Allentown, and the outlets in Tannersville. Overall it was near our family in the area, was close enough to all of the attractions we wanted to get to and then some, and was a very quiet and relaxing property to wind down in at the end of a busy day. We couldn't have asked for better, thank you!

Amazing place with tons of features

It was amazing. There's so much to do at the house and on the property and there were a lot of hikes a short drive away. Beltzville State Park is nearby and is a great place to go onto the water.

Why they chose this property

I grew-up in the Philadelphia area and always loved the mountains. I got started skiing in high school and I got hooked. I wanted a house by a ski area for my kids and I was fortunate enough to be able to afford a second home right by Blue Mountain. This kids are older, scattered about and we've now opened the house up to renters.

What makes this property unique

The setting is private. Just a few minutes to the Valley Lodge of Blue Mountain Ski Resort, close to the Appalachian Trail, Lehigh River and Beltzville State Park. We're close to the Poconos, but not so close that you feel like you're in a tourist trap. Palmerton is a nice town, if you want touristy things, go to nearby Jim Thorpe. River outfitters along the Lehigh River Gap provide great day trips and we have 4 kayaks available to guests who want to DIY on the river.
