The Harrell House with Jacuzzi Tub - Dog Friendly

Immerse yourself in Hot Springs' architecture, art, authors and history in this spacious 3 bedroom, 1.75 bath brick home on an oversized, quiet lot, 1 block from the National Park Pullman trailhead, and 1 mile from the National Park Visitor's Center, downtown, spas, boutique shopping, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, bathhouse row and Northwoods Trails.

We personally take extra measures to air and disinfect to CDC guidelines for our guests.

1937, 3 bedroom, 1 + 3/4 bathroom, 1,642 square foot, renovated brick bungalow in the heart of Historic Uptown Park Avenue featuring a collection of local art and authors. Close to all that downtown and the National Park have to offer!

PRIVATE OUTSIDE SPACE: Private, off-street parking for multiple vehicles, boats, trailers or RVs. Enter the fully fenced backyard through a decorative gate below a canopy of old oaks along an antique brick pathway into a seemingly secluded grotto patio featuring a gas grill and outdoor furniture.

LAUNDRY/GEAR STORAGE: The backdoor opens into a bright and airy enclosed back porch with washer, dryer, utility sink and plenty of room for fishing, crystal digging, biking or hiking gear. An old fashioned clothes line is steps away to dry swimsuits and towels after a fun day at the lakes or thermal water spas.

Ample space for your groceries in the refrigerator, freezer and pantry.

LIVING & SUN ROOMS: Relax at the end or beginning of the day in the cozy living room or the sunny enclosed front porch. Pour a cup of coffee, tea or cocktail and a good book, or challenge friends and family to classic board games. The living room includes built in blinds, black out curtains, a turntable and records, over a dozen board games, cards, a selection of books, TV with Netflix and basic cable, and area activity brochures and trail maps.

PRIMARY BEDROOM SUITE: The primary suite offers a queen sized pillow top bed, comfy linens, television, built in vanity, dresser, spacious walk-in closet, shoe and luggage racks, ceiling fan, built in blinds and black out curtains. Private en suite bathroom includes sink, toilet, 2-person jetted Jacuzzi tub, hair dryer, bath robes, Turkish towels, white noise device and various toiletries. Note: There is a shower in the main bath, but only the tub in the en suite.

SECOND BEDROOM: On the opposite side of the house, the second queen bedroom with pillow top mattress is a quiet respite overlooking the mossy, shaded front yard. Closet, clothes cube, luggage rack, chair, ceiling fan, built in blinds and black out curtains.

THIRD BEDROOM & OFFICE: The third bedroom includes a business desk, adjustable Thomasville office chair, 6 easy access surge protected outlets, 6-device charger, and a twin day bed with twin trundle bed. Closet, clothes cupboard, kids toys and games, luggage rack, iron, ironing board, full length mirror, ceiling fan, built in blinds and black out curtains. The Park Avenue community, or Uptown as it is known to locals, is a hip and historic, friendly, diverse, revitalizing, medium-density, residential neighborhood adjacent to downtown/bathhouse row with a mixed-use central corridor of locally owned and operated small businesses, mid-century motor courts and a couple of late 19th century mansions. Densely canopied side streets with more modest craftsman, cottage and bungalow homes lead up to the national park lands at the edge of the Ouachita mountains that surround the area.

You are likely to see deer, raccoons, squirrels, wild birds and a well-fed groundhog or two.

HIKING/BIKING: 1 block from the house the moderate .65 mile Pullman Trail for hiking and biking leads through the National Park crossing over Sunset Trail (10 miles hiking only) and ends at the Northwoods Trails (30 miles of hiking and biking).

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and a light bite to eat at Red Light Roastery 3 blocks from the house; or last minute items at a variety store down the street. Visit David F. Watkins Memorial Park 5 blocks from the house to see a day-lighted portion of the 1890's Hot Springs Creek Tunnel that runs for 3 miles under the city - very cool. Or, follow the architectural tour included in the house welcome book to see great examples of Art Moderne, Victorian, mid-century and other National Register worthy styles throughout the neighborhood.

The home is 1 mile (3 minute drive or 20 minute walk) to downtown and the Hot Springs National Park Visitor's Center. The neighborhood is walkable and bike friendly. The National Park Pullman Trailhead, a .65 mile hiking and mountain biking trail, is a short walk/ride from the Harrell House, and connects to the Sunset Trail (11 miles hiking only) and the Northwoods Trails (30 miles hiking and biking).

Uber and taxi services are available to/from the house.

Hot Springs' Intra-City Transit system has a sheltered ADA-accessible bus stop 2 blocks from the home. Public transit can be used Monday through Saturday to access downtown, bathhouse row, many area attractions, shopping, the Farmers' Market, the Greenway Trail (multi-purpose), and the National Park.

High speed EV charging station located 10 blocks from The Harrell House. 2 free charging stations (limited plugs and availability) are located within 1.5 miles.

Hot Springs Memorial Field Airport (HOT) is 20 minutes from the house with Southern Airlines daily direct flights to/from Dallas (DFW) and Memphis (MEM) with Enterprise rental car onsite. Little Rock (LIT) airport is a 1 hour drive with all major rental car companies and airlines.

Amazing
We loved staying here! They thought of anything and everything you might need incase you forgot something. I mean EVERYTHING! The harrell home is the home away from home. I make a lot of trips to hot springs and this is by far the best home to stay at. Your are close to everything but yet far away at the same time. They have such a open floor plan which is great for someone with little ones. Your kept updated on the latest activities going on. If you have questions about anything they will respond quick. Such wonderful people! Already planning my mext visit.

We fell in love with the natural beauty and genuine people of Hot Springs the moment we arrived in 2005, and we decided to make it our forever home. We are happy we can share comfortable, safe spaces with guests from all walks of life in our beautiful, unique town in the middle of a National Park.

Michelle has a background in community and career development. Max is a US Army veteran experienced in low impact storm water development and water quality practices.

Our love of Hot Springs has translated into volunteering, organizing events, sitting on non-profit boards, attending as many festivals as possible, supporting local small businesses, and previously working for the City of Hot Springs. We love being unofficial Hot Springs ambassadors helping our guests make the most of their vacation with the many things to see, do and eat around town!

Let us know how we can make your trip to Hot Springs enjoyable and memorable. You may just decide to make it your forever home too!

Why they chose this property

The Park Avenue neighborhood, or Uptown as it is known to locals, is a diverse, revitalizing, medium density residential district with a mixed use corridor of local small businesses, and shaded side streets ending at the base of the mountains and National Park lands. 1 block from the .65 mile moderate National Park Pullman Trailhead connecting to over 47 more miles of hiking/biking trails, and only 1 mile from downtown boutique shopping, restaurants, art galleries, theaters, spas, bathhouse row, National Park Visitor's Center, yet a quiet residential neighborhood that feels like home.

What makes this property unique

Spaciousness, comfort and conveniences make The Harrell House feel like home away from home!
