About this property

Our rustic, nautical cottage perfect for north coast family fun!

Our comfortable 3Br/1Ba house is perfect for North coast family fun. It is fully furnished and ready for your visit. It's been fully renovated and has a rustic nautical charm to it. We have equipment for beach days, hiking days, cozy days, you name it. Adventure is calling your name here, whatever that may be for you!

*Free WiFi, 4K Smart TVs in every bedroom w/ Netflix + DVD player
*10 min to beach, 5 min to zoo + redwoods
*3 miles from old town Eureka

The space:
It has a newly-renovated kitchen with all the amenities, including a new refrigerator and beautiful, locally-made redwood dining room table that easily seats 8.

The living room has a 60” Smart TV set/ with WIFI & Direct TV, and a new sectional couch with 3 push-button recliners built in.

The 3 bedrooms all have comfortable Queen-sized beds and a smart 4K TV in each room.

One bedroom is adjoining the other bedroom by a door (you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the second bedroom.) Perfect for a family with children.

The bathroom has a shower/tub with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

Our front, back, and side yard are all fully-fenced in.

The driveway can fit 2 cars easily and street parking is plentiful and free. The yard is outlined with a colorful array of flowers and shrubs. The front of the house has a nice porch for morning coffee, and night-time security lighting as you walk-up. While it's perfect for family fun, there are no cabinet locks in the kitchen or elsewhere. There are a various outlet covers around the house.

The washer and dryer are both available to use, complimentary detergent is available for your use.

Local Activities Include: Crabbing on Humboldt Bay, Sequoia Park & Zoo, Old Town Charm, Humboldt Bay Cruises, Local Music Venues (nearly every night), HSU sporting activities (Arcata is just 8 miles north), Whale watching in Trinidad (just 23 miles north), Beautiful town of Ferndale (20 miles southwest), Beaches, Redwood Forest hikes for all abilities, Summer time Crabs Baseball, and so much more.

Other things to note
As of 11/20/2019, we have now installed (outdoor only) security cameras for the safety of our home. This footage is only looked at during periods of the home not being occupied by a guest of ours. Due to people in the area filling our garbage cans when guests are not present, and to prevent anyone tampering with our home while it's empty, the cameras are a deterrent of this behavior.

Great place

We had a wonderful stay! The property was very clean and beautifully decorated. The large yard was nice and we liked having the option to grill. Highly recommend staying here while visiting the area.

The house was perfect for us (my mom, sis, and me). Big kitchen, Great beds, and lots of room. Very clean and all the amenities needed for three old ladies with disabilities. We will definitely look to stay again if we ever get back to Eureka!

This house was the perfect landing spot for our visit to Eureka. The hosts thought of everything. The kitchen was stocked, and there were plenty of towels and blankets. We loved sitting on the front porch surrounded by flowering bushes.

Relaxed, Rejuvenated in the Redwoods

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sunflower beach cottage. All of the necessities were available and the location was ideal for visiting Arcata, Trinidad, Ferndale and all. Thanks to Lala and the book of recommendations, one of the highlights was our trip to the Redwoods Zoo and Skywalk. We of course took in the beautiful beaches and Redwoods. Just a wonderful, magical, relaxing trip.

Eureka! What a find!

My family of 4 spent the past few days at the house. It was very clean, had space (and TV's) for all of us and was stocked with the basics. From shampoo to laundry to spices and condiments, the house was well prepared for travelers. We really enjoyed our time!

Everything You Need and More

Perfect spot to relax and spend time as a family over winter break. The house was clean, organized and exactly what we needed. We were delighted to find rain gear so we could enjoy being outside in the stormy weather and stay dry. Lala is a generous host and we can’t wait to return.
