This was a wonderfully relaxing place to spend a few days. Beautiful grounds. long wide porches for rocking, reading, and enjoying nature. Quaint downtown Shops, restaurants and bakery are a short easy walk away.
Out host, Barry, made us feel right at home.
I would recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to shed some stress and escape the fast paced hub-bub of a typical work week.

Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Check-in, communication
It is a large room and bathroom which is clean and comfortable with ample toiletries. However there is no hairdryer or trash can in the room. The only available electrical outlet is in the bathroom which is a problem if you require an outlet near the bed.The property is conveniently located to town circle and restaurants. I received accurate address of the property immediately after booking. However at time of check in no information was yet received for property access. It took a message to host on VRBO, a phone message, and multiple phone calls to a number found by googling property name. There was no response to either message and took over an hour for access information to be texted following contacting property manager by phone by which time it was 2 hours after check in time. In summary it is ok if you are looking for a clean and comfortable room in this location.
Booked room on Nov.18th 2023. Arrived at property as scheduled Jan. 28th 2024. Was greeted by a resident who informed us the property was no longer a B&B & had not been for over a year. The owner had taken the booking & the funds & then claimed he knew nothing about the reservation. It was a total disaster. Contacted VRBO & opened an investigation which led to us getting on money refunded but quite a hassle finding a new place to stay.
Before we arrived at the property there were already slight irritation with the lack of communication. I requested the check in process as we planned to arrive around 3am, and didn't receive a reply until after I had called the number provided multiple times which automatically when to voicemail each time, as well as contacting vrbo directly. After we arrived, the next morning we woke up to the power being out, no breakfast, and our room below 35 degrees. We were understanding of the power outage due to the old house and location of the town, but no other properties next to and around the house were out of power, which was very strange. Unfortunately we ended up cutting our stay short and opting to stay with relatives, less then two blocks away who had power as well as hot water.
This was a lovely place to stay only a two block walk from downtown. Two blocks down was a super yummy Mexican restaurant and some delicious breakfast/brunch eateries to choose from. The owner Barry is really nice and was very hospitable during my stay. He checked in with me throughout my visit and made sure that everything was going well. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet respite from the rest of the world.
The house is absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the porch to relax was so peaceful. Coming from a busy life it was a dream to sit and breathe. Barry and Cassandra are extremely nice and so welcoming. I am already planning another trip.
Restful, Relaxing, Exciting FSU-ND Go irish Weekend
Great location in Monticello, Fl less than an hour from FSU.
Charming bnb convenient to great restaurants in town and a nice trail walk to the Indian Mounds.
Sitting out on the porch with a drink in hand was the greatest.
The hoast was the best.
Great place to stay away from the bustle of the city but super easy and quick trip in when needed. Very quiet, super comfy, and a beautiful spot to recharge.
