Loved the location, size, cleanliness, friendly manager, a few repairs needed—window levers, electrical outlets. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would book again.
We enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean and had all the furnishings we needed. We had fun playing ping pong in the basement as well. There was an issue with the heat that arose but the host was quick to help us get some space heaters in the meantime, which we appreciated.
Good quite neighborhood with lots of room. The house was a good location for our motorcycle tour of Yellowstone and the Tetons. Host was informative and very helpful.
Idyllic Retreat Near Spectacular Cross Country Skiing
Such a comfortable place! Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking gadgets/utensils, along with sugar, oil, salt and pepper, and more. Beds were comfortable and 2 had great views. Main living/kitchen area was a joy to spend time in — lovely for just the 3 of us, but would be great for a bigger group as well.
The outside pictures did not match what it really looked like and needed a lot of maintenance especially the deck The grill, oven, microwave didn’t work. Garbage disposal smelled. Towels and sheets smelled and were dirty. The yard wasn’t maintained. The hall shower was clogged.

Vacation
The home was clean and updated nicely. The home had windows that had broken glass and the roll out windows did not work properly. We were not able to use the yard at all because the wildflowers and weeds were were up past our knees. The view on VRBO was not accurate

Hi Larry and Kathy. We appreciate you staying with us and appreciate the feedback since we are always trying to improve the experience for our guests. i just wanted to clarify for other guests reading this review that the window with broken glass is a 2 pane window and only the outer pane is broken so there is still a layer of protection between the outside and the inside of the cabin. We have ordered a new window but since we're in such a rural area it takes a long time for them to be replaced.
Regarding the curb appeal of the house, the photos on the listing were taken in the spring before the wildflowers and native grass had grown for the year. We do allow the native grass and flowers to grow in the yard and most guests appreciate the view and feel of being in nature. However, since your stay we have mowed down some of the yard to improve the curb appeal and we appreciate the suggestion.
We hope you have a chance to return in the future and we apologize if the house was not to your satisfaction.
Great place for a big group. We had 12 people in our group. It's about a 30 minute drive to the West Yellowstone entrance.
This place was clean and in a nice location. We had foxes behind the home. There's also a very nice grocery store as you enter the community.
All the beds were nice and the towels/linens provided looked new. The couches and love seats were also very clean.
Having a washer and dryer was also great. The appliances looked new and the wifi worked good enough for us to stream on the TV.
Thanks for keeping this place in great shape. Will definitely recommend it to my friends.
Upon driving up to property it looked abandoned!
Weeds over windows, broken windows,(glass and the ability to close and secure) bird remains everywhere, deck needs lots of repair!
Owner is updating interior. Property has lots of potential but needs to be unlisted until repairs are made. DO NOT RENT~unsafe in multiple ways!!!

Hi Larry and Kathy,
Thanks for taking the time to review our property and for you business with us. I'd like to address the concerns in your review for benefit of future guests and your peace of mind.
We do allow the native grass and wild flowers to grow around the home since most guests expect a cabin in nature when they travel to Island park. However we do appreciate the feedback and we have since mowed some of the grass down to allow for more time to be spent standing among the weeds.
I'd also like to address your statement about the broken window as i feel this statement is misleading. The window has 2 panes and only the outer pane is broken so there is still a fully functioning layer of protection between the outside and inside of the home. We ordered a new window quite some time ago but since we're in such a rural area it takes a while for the new window to be installed.
To address your statement about bird remains being everywhere i also feel this statement is misleading. Since the home is in the mountains among wildlife you can expect a lot of birds around, however when we went and inspected the deck after your stay there were only 2 areas where bird remains had made a small pile on the deck below a section of facia where birds frequent. But for your benefit, I'd like to note that we have since scrapped it off the deck.
While i agree the deck could use a new layer of paint since it often chips when we shovel the snow from the deck, I disagree that it "needs lots of repairs" as there are no loose or broken boards and it is not unsafe in anyway but could simply use a new paint job.
Regarding the updates to the interior the owner is adding another shower in the master bathroom for the benefit of future guests and the area being worked on is covered up and in no way effects the use of the rest of the bathroom.
The home is perfectly safe and often one of our guests favorite places to stay as we often get guest returning year after year.
Thank you for your review and i apologize if the house was not up to your standards and hope this response will help ease your mind.
A little disappointed when first arriving, the natural plants growing in entire yard were somewhat out of control (extending onto sidewalk). A broken window near the sidewalk to the entry and the overall look of the outside caused some concern, but once inside were very happy with the interior.
The upgrades to the interior were very nice and the beds were comfortable! There was plenty of room for our family to enjoy themselves when we were all together (14 adults total, 7 staying in cabin) The Roko TV's made it easy to watch, if there was some time to kill, but with all there is to do, very little time to 'kill"!
Only reason for four stars, instead of five, is the construction area in the upstairs master bath, and all of the "swallow droppings" outside that had to be cleaned up by us. Also, the garage was too small for comfortable parking of our SUV, so we just parked outside in the sun.
FYI, I do only give five stars if the property is "excellent", and that is a high bar, for me.

Thank you for the feed back. The remodel did turn out very nice. Yes we leave the natural grass.
Bird droppings are frustrating, yet birds are part of the mountainous area. Yes I am adding an additional shower, however, I wish you would have noted there is already one for your use in the Master room I just thought a second one would be nice.
This property is everything it advertised and more. Absolutely stunning property, well equipped/stocked with beautiful views. We had 9 people and 3 bathrooms. Could use one more bathroom if more people were there. Close to Connie’s a fabulous restaurant. We would stay here again if In the area. Highly recommend this property. The Property Mgrs were very prompt and helpful with any questions we had. 10 or of 10!
Cabin was clean and well equipped. When we arrived, the heat had been turned off by previous tenants, Contacted the property manager who told us how to turn it on, took a while for it to warm up but it did and the stay was great. Cabin was well equipped and comfortable. Recommend this cabin if staying in Island Park.
This was a great house. Four of us stayed and used it as a base to visit Yellowstone National Park. We also went down to Grand Teton National Park; it’s a good spot from which to do both. The house is clean, it’s big, it’s well furnished. We really enjoyed staying here. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.
Place was as listed and not a bad drive from the West Yellowstone park entrance, so we felt close enough to Yellowstone, but still felt like we had a private setting as well.
We enjoyed our stay. The inside was very accommodating. The outside could use a little work. We would stay here again. Wine glasses would be an improvement.
We loved this house so much! Such attention to detail. Anything we could’ve needed right there on site- griddle, grill, extra blankets, tons of towels….the house was stocked. And everything was beautiful and new and modern.
Plus, we were plenty close to the west entrance to Yellowstone. We drove in every day of our stay. What a great trip!
