This two bedroom, 2 ensuite, 1 WC/Laundry air conditioned house with its 10 meter deck and retractable ranch sliders has unlimited views out to the reef and as far as the eye can see. Solitude for reading that book or entertainment house for friends and guests.
Swim, walk or kayak around the lagoon.
The reef is accessible at low tide and great to explore.
The buses pass by every 30 minutes, just flag them down.
Park your rental car or bikes under the house..
Located close to Resorts, Cafes and Avarua the main shopping/business centre.

Absolutely great host. Very flexible with our midnight arrival. Fantastic place. Perfect for our group of five. Convenient location near airport and town and a truly excellent bakery. Beautiful view of the lagoon, reef and sea. Whale watching, swimming, snorkelling just a few feet away.

Best Accomodation on the Island

Had the most amazing stay at this property. The view is absolutely breath taking. It has everything you could need and more available ranging from the selection of kitchen equipment to after sun gel and mosquito sprays. The beds were super comfortable and the air conditioning in both bedrooms were a game changer. 100% will be back again and staying here. Communication with Paul was amazing and he was so helpful and accommodating with any of our needs. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely property. It well exceeded our expectations 😊

What a view!

View is unsurpassed. The property is close to the road, so there is traffic noise. You can also watch the tails of planes arriving and leaving and quickly head to the end of the runway to watch planes take off and land . The property is well appointed and modern. The huge deck is a great place to chill out with the lagoon a few feet away and is great for sundowners and bbqs. Would love to stay here again.

Would Not Rent From This Owner Again

PROS Rose...property manager. The Location and Ocean View. Great Island to Visit! CONS AC Not Working in One Bedroom (#1) Dishwasher Not Working Termites Throughout the House (Both flying and in the walls.) Lizards Throughout the House Termite and Rat Poop Throughout the House Exhaust fan not working in one bathroom. First I’ll address Rose. What a sweet, kind and helpful woman she is! Rose was the highlight of our stay at the house and we loved her. Next, the location and view from the house speak for themselves. We couldn’t have happier with either. Now, I’ll address the termites. First day there we noticed termite droppings many places throughout the house. We let Rose know we had noticed the termite droppings and she informed us that this was a boring insect you were aware of. On January 29th and 30th there were swarming, flying termites throughout the house, mostly concentrated in the kitchen area. We also found dead termites and termite wings in random locations throughout the house. Also, since the termite droppings were all over the floor and were thus tracked throughout the house, by our feet and shoes, we ended up with termite poop in our bed every night! Needless to say, neither my wife nor I were quite ready to deal with these pests and were not happy to have to live and sleep in those conditions. As far as the AC not working in bedroom #1. We noticed this first thing as we arrived since there was a portable AC unit near the window, turned on but not working properly, blowing warm air. We had intended to use that room because of the king size bed located there. Since it was quite warm, we were forced to use bedroom #2 and sleep in a smaller bed where the AC unit was functional. Also, the bathroom exhaust fan did not work. One day we also woke up to rat poop on our bed as well as on the floor. This occurred sometime during the night on Jan 31st. We were not happy with that situation but since it was our last day on the island we just chalked it up as part of the experience. My wife mentioned to me Friday morning that it was good that she had not seen rat poop earlier in our stay or she would not have been able to stay in the house. The broken dishwasher was more of a disappointment for us and was not that big of deal. There were also numerous lizards inside the home. I would not reccomend anybody to rent this home until repairs are made.

Beautiful Beach Property with tranquil setting

This tastefully decorated home has all the mod cons Located right on the beach, you can experience a great reef walk - we got to see schools of fish jumping out of the water. The family had fun on the kayaks. Great hosts and we will definitely stay here again! Meitaki Maata.

Great place to stay.

Great place to stay. Everything worked perfectly, the place is of a high standard and the 2 double rooms with their own en-suites are an ideal way for 2 couple to share the place. Has a great deck for sundowners. There are bars and the petrol station nearby. The beach here is ok for paddling but not really swimmable. Its rocky not sandy. The property is about 500m from the airport and about 200m from the runway so you do here some road noise and the larger planes coming in and taking off.

Nikao Cottages is a a family owned business started 30 years ago when our parents built their first house (now known as Unit 5). We have three houses directly on beach front, Units 4 , 5 and 6 . All houses are 2 Bedroom with differing levels of comfort. Budget to suit each House.
