Little seaside home-from-home. Lots of thoughtful touches (the electric underblanket being one), little private backyard with full morning sun. Minutes from a stunning long dog-friendly beach, and a great location to explore the area.

Spotless, beautiful and on the beach

Even better than the website. Everything was spotless and comfortable. Easy drive into town for groceries and so much to do in the Dunedin area.Prebook penguins as they sell out fast. At least a month in advance.Only negative for me (as a Canadian) is the beds were European firm. If you know, you know.Would highly recommend this place.

Lovely Bungalow

This is a very cozy place to stay. The bungalow was very well furnished so it was easy to feel at home. It's a 5 minute stroll to a beautiful sandy beach. I would definitely come back again!

Lovely little cottage, short walk to long beach

A cute little cottage. We enjoyed walks along the beach and a swim (despite the coolish weather). Easy access by car to Dunedin. Good cooking facilities.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Such an amazing property located with a private beach access, was a wonderful stay thankyou very much to the hosts, the wee surprise homemade shortbread were absolutely delicious. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Enjoying the beach

We had a wonderful stay in the bungalow, which was ideally located close to the beach and had great amenities (e.g., plastic wine glasses for enjoying drinks by the beach—perfect!). The street was a bit noisy, but everything else was fantastic!

We loved this place. Homely feel, private courtyard to catch the morning sun with lovely garden and flowers. So many little extras such as umbrellas, a torch, night light in the bathroom, books and games - thoughtful extras I haven’t seen in hotel/motel rooms

Amazing bungalow by the sea

We were caught in the midst of a crazy amount of rain, having to commute twice a day to the ice rink for our son's ice hockey tournament. Although the weather caused quite some worry, having such a lovely and cosy bungalow to return to made a world of difference. The communication from Janne was amazing and also checked in with us when the roads started closing. The bungalow is very clean and neat and well furnished with everything you need. Beautiful spot with a quick and peaceful walk to the beach. Thank you Janne for making our stay less stressful.

Amazing!

We absolutely LOVED our stay in the bungalow. You are a short walk to amazing ocean views with little foot traffic. The bungalow is close to the city and several places to shop and eat. We had everything we needed during our stay. Plenty of kitchen utensils, blankets, towels, etc. We highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful place

Beautiful cottage, quiet and fully equipped. A short walk just past the main house places you on the beach. Our hosts were helpful and respectful of our privacy, which was appreciated.

Tropical Paradise

First of all, the hosts Janne & Ray couldn't have been nicer. They allowed us privacy in their nicely appointed guest bungalow, but were available to answer questions and gave us helpful tips on the area. Their property adjoins the ocean and has a beautifully manicured landscape. Just a short drive to Dunedin; lots to see and do in the area. We enjoyed our stay at their "tropical paradise"!

We moved to Ocean View in 2018. Our property is perfect for us, being by the sea and a short drive into Dunedin which offers so much in the way of art and culture.
Janne grew up in Dunedin before leaving to teach in Canterbury, North Otago, Central Otago and much closer to home - Brighton- now known as Big Rock. Ray grew up in Melbourne and has spent much of his life as a stonemason in Queenstown.
