Holiday

Great place, hidden away from the main road and close to the water. Close to many of the hot spots for the area, Greta spot to base ourselves for a few days.

Wonderful stay

Location is situated right at the beach, so you can walk up and down or swim, the moment you feel for it. Around the house is a small park where you can relax and look at the birds. On top you can collect mussels at low tide to prepare as you like. We just loved that.

Beautiful views of ocean

Loved waking up to the sun rising over the vast ocean, and enjoyed watching the tides coming in and out. When we called John about an issue, he came down immediately (less than 5 minutes), and dealt with it immediately and completely.

Bliss!

Thank you, John, for the lovely stay at Sunrise Appartment. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises from the deck, breakfasts with a stunning view over the ocean, long walks on the beach, and sitting in front of the wood burner on cold nights, sipping on a glass of wine and playing board games. We missed the rolling and crashing of waves on our doorstep the moment we left! Truly a place to unwind, relax, and recharge!

Sunrise Paradise!!

Unforgettable views !! Very quiet and private which was exactly what we were looking for. Great facilities. Would go back in a heart beat ! Throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone. Will definitely be going back!!

Fantastic coastal views

Lovely place but could have been cleaner. Some more cooking utensils, e.g. oven pans, would be useful. A broom is needed for keeping the floor clean.

Perfect Escape

This place is wonderful. A short private path to a beach that goes on for ever where you might meet no-one on a two-hour walk. The cabin has all we needed. The deck looked out onto lovely vegetation, and the sea beyond. The view from bed was similar!

Restful getaway

This bach was a terrific place to relax and enjoy the walks, biking, and sights of Golden Bay. We also just stayed put and read books listening to the ocean. Only a short drive to Collingwood or Takaka, the bach was perfectly located for us. John was terrific to communicate with and made sure our stay was relaxing.

Sea view and secluded

Well located in Golden Bay. Uninterrupted sea view from living, bed and bath. Few minutes walk down to beach, safe and swim-able at high tide. Extensive outside deck orientated to catch sun all day into late afternoon, If blowing, rather exposed to prevailing wind. Well appointed with minimalist aesthetic (no tv and intermittent internet when we were there). Laundry available by arrangement with owner.

Private Beachside Getaway

We loved this little bach. It was presented beautifully with a kitchen well equipped and squeaky clean. We did not realize there was no washing machine. It may helpful for people to know if their stay is for a few days (ours was 5). Also, the property was several kms along a track once you were off the main road. Some specific directions would be helpful as we did feel a little lost coming in! A fabulous, magical spot. Thoroughly recommend

A Stunning location with beautiful wildlife to relax in

Gorgeous And Peaceful

We have done a lot of traveling and stayed at many places over the years. This is one of the best. Modern, neat as a pin and well equipped. Amazing location. Our host, John, is a very friendly and interesting person. Highly recommend "Sunrise Apartment".

A little piece of heaven

Amazing views from this tastefully decorated property including the owners beautiful artwork. Cool in the very hot weather as there are lots of sliding doors and plenty of fly screens. Very quiet with an easy path to a quiet beach (good for colllecting pebbles and harvesting mussel and watching birds) and an outside shower. It's up an unsealed road, about 20m from the point you worry you might be lost. It's even got its own weka bird. We were sad to leave.
