Welcome to Palm Shores Villa. Come enjoy this truly natural environment. Perfectly situated at the end of a long, quiet road, the property invites you with its swaying palms and bold sea grapes spread across half an acre. As it is sited on the point of land straddling Corito Bay and Forest Bay--with a sweeping 270 degree unobstructed panoramic view--it is a Caribbean gem. The scrumptious view takes in all of close-in St. Martin, Isle de Mar, and a distant St. Barts. Straightforward and simple, this villa is the perfect complement to all the richness of your Caribbean experience. You have “everything you need” inside, but you are going to want to spend all your time outside. Mother Nature, herself, would pick this one.
This unique villa is built as a duplex, comprised of two fully equipped, independent units (2BR/2BA and 1BR/1BA). For privacy considerations, we only rent to one party at a time. So the flexibility for renting either or both units really enhances your personal space as friends and families gather. Both units face the sea and open directly onto the pool patio. And the beach comes right up to the 36’ pool! The 200’ sand beachfront wraps around two sides of the property, giving the impression that you are right in the middle of the Caribbean. As even the closest of friends and families may have differences of opinion regarding their personal sleep environment (Some like it hot!), all three bedrooms feature individually controlled air conditioning.)

After visiting many Caribbean locations over many years, my wife and I first brought our 6 month old daughter to Anguilla in 1991. At the time--and still today--the island maintained a very low tourist profile. (You can go anywhere, without feeling jammed.) The world-class beaches and wonderful people convinced us that we needn't go any further. Since our purchase in 1993, the dining experience has really ramped up, the beach-bar scene has expanded, and a Gregg Norman designed golf course, Temenos, opened for play. The tennis facilities are excellent and inexpensive. With more than 30 beaches, at any given time, most of them are yours alone.
Personally, we fell in love with this property primarily for the privacy and the sand/sea/pool experience. The setting will blow you away, not to mention the untainted night sky! The massive view of St. Martin across the channel is stunning. As it is on the SE coast, it benefits from the Trade Wind breezes 24/7. (You can sit by the pool on the hottest days, and still be comfortable.) Rest assured that you can happily spend your entire visit right on this property. There is a reef about 100 yards out from shore which breaks up all the waves. And the water is shallow, so if you snorkel a lot, when you get tired, just stand up! Or, go outside the reef where the snorkeling and scuba are dramatic! Take a sandy hike to the east or west.
If you want a quiet place and a central location to reach anything on the island, this is your place! We loved the quiet and laid back feel of the property. The maid service was friendly and thorough. The owner was accommodating and friendly. I appreciate the lack of excessive fees that some villas and rentals charge. I have stayed in many villas on the island but I will definitely return to this one!
Truly lovely spot away from all the rush of tourism but if you need your fix on a busy beach or a great restaurant you get easily drive wherever you need. The view is spectacular and the villa is well maintained. We appreciated all the screens in window - no mosquitoes! We enjoyed the privacy and quiet.
If you are looking for a quiet place that is nice and right on the water with stunning views of French St. Martin, you are looking at the right place.
We stayed a week with 2 small kids. The setup was perfect for them. My oldest would stay in the pool all morning and then we would go around the island to various beaches in the afternoon. There was always a good breeze blowing (tradewinds) and it was about as relaxing and quiet of a destination as you could hope for.
It's about 10-minutes to The Valley from Palm Shores Villa, so you are close to restaurants and stores. There are none near the villa, which is a great thing for that secluded feeling. The West End beaches are 15-25 mins away, depending on how far you want to go. You will want a car. By the time you pay for taxis, you could have rented a car. Please keep this in mind for this location.
The owner and the on-island property management are outstanding to work with. For what you are getting, this is by far the best value on the island and will be the very first place I look when I go back to Anguilla.
I'm torn about writing this review of Palm Shores because as much as I want to help the wonderful owner (Mike) and Jackie, Patra and Company at Island Dream Properties (on-island management reps) - this is a pretty special place that needs to remain off-the-beaten-track and ONLY for the RIGHT folks looking for a real escape.
We have been visiting Anguilla sometimes once and other times twice a year since 1999. In that time the island has changed but, there are still places in Anguilla that are a throwback to the once sleepy Island we first visited nearly 15 year's ago for the first time. We have stayed in apartments and villas on both the north shore and south shore, east and west on the Island. Palm Shores Villa is an amazingly quiet and perfectly situated villa with a million dollar view of St. Maarten that you will have trouble erasing from your mind should you make this place your home for a vacation stay in Anguilla. It is situated in a small enclave of villas (some VERY expensive) in a relatively unspoiled area of the Island not too far from the airport (don't worry though ... there is very little air traffic). The villa has all the amenities you would want for a vacation. The view out the door is nothing short of spectacular! On more than 1 night I would come out, stretch out on one of the chaise lounges (great, btw) and just gaze at the stars and the twinkling lights in St. Maarten ... I fell asleep at least 3 times ... lulled to a blissful snooze by the ever-present "Christmas winds" and the bay literally lapping at my feet about 20 yards away.
There is nothing but peace and tranquility here at Palm Shores. We do much of our own cooking and the kitchen has everything you will need if you like to cook, like us. There is a small Weber charcoal BBQ for cookouts and cable TV, wireless Internet, a nice collection of board games, DVDs and more. What you won't find here are any distractions ... we only saw our neighbors next door once during our entire stay. This is pure heaven and seclusion of the best kind.
This would be a wonderful place for older couples looking for absolutely nothing to do but sun and swim (there is a terrific lap pool at the villa) or, you can rent a car and get to any of the great beaches within a short drive away. Also nice for a large family if renting both the one and 2 bedroom apartments simultaneously.
We have just booked our return for 2013. Can't say enough wonderful things about Palm Shores ... just GO and R-E-L-A-X
We were looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation not our usual frantic "we need to see it all in one week" sort of vacation. After our arrival we headed for the grocery store. It didn't take us long to settle in to this wonderful location. For the first two days we did not feel the need to go anywhere. All our needs were met in this lovely Villa.
Day three we ventured out for a drive, lunch and walk on the beach. This became our ritual. Lunch at a new restaurant each day and explore a new beach. The thing we enjoyed most about Anquilla was the lack of tourists. We celebrated our joint birthdays (64 & 65)and Valentines Day at the lovely Blanchard's
A week was a few days too short. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will come back to the Villa and stay for 10 days.
Anguilla is rather unique in that the entire coastline is open to the public for the first 30 feet above the high water mark. This means that you are welcome to roam wherever you please. Yet Palm Shores Villa is so privately sited, you rarely have any passers-by. While the beach immediately in front of the villa is narrow and undulating, one can stroll a quarter mile in both directions. This point of land straddles Forest Bay and Corito Bay. Palm Shores villa is highly regarded for its spectacular, panoramic view, right at the water's edge, at sea level! As it faces east and south, it benefits from plenty of trade breezes. This location is sparsely residential, with no commercial enterprises in the immediate vicinity. There is a well-stocked, small grocery about 3 minutes distant by car. The Valley (commercial center of the island with large grocery stores, gas station, banks, etc.) is about 7 minutes by car. As the villa is pretty much center-island on the SE coast, it is basically equidistant to beaches and restaurants, north, east, and west. Island-wide, it is one of only a few sites with plenty of palm trees.
