The cabin is on our private 12 acre horse farm. Enjoy beautiful sunsets over Hogback Mountain, and peaceful walks around the pasture, down to the dock or around the pond to the natural spring.
About the Property:
Enjoy a private escape to the beautiful foothills while relaxing and snuggling in front of the fireplace, taking in the beautiful evening sunsets, or escaping to the porches to sip on your favorite drinks. Relaxation guaranteed. When you want a change of scenery, there is plenty of shopping, dining, and outdoor sport to enjoy in our neighboring small towns. The cabin is approximately 900sf, two stories and has a queen bed upstairs, a twin rollaway bed upstairs and a small pull out sofa (1 person) downstairs. The cabin sleeps 2 adults and 2 children comfortably.
Our cabin has a peaceful, rustic vibe throughout. The stone fireplace is the focal point of the downstairs along with an open kitchen including stove, oven and coffee maker. A full array of cookware and tableware is provided
Feel free to take a stroll down to the pond. Guests are welcome to take a walk around the pond. Site map will be provided to ensure that guests stay on our property.
Sunset cottage is located on our 12 acre farm where we have horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. The cabin is located about 150’ from our house and the same distance from both our horse barn and riding arena. We try to respect our guests privacy but want to be transparent that this is a working farm and the sounds of hoofs and animals may be present during your stay. Our animals are friendly and occasionally wander up to the cabin to greet our guests. Please see attached picture for an aerial view of the areas.
Free fresh eggs and and milk can be provided with advanced notice.
Unfortunately we do not offer horseback riding or swimming in the pond, but are happy to provide info on local riding arenas or “swimming holes”
**PLEASE NOTE** Hike down to the pond is steep. Please watch your step and be aware that acorns and leaves make for a slippery downhill hike. Fishing is welcome, but no swimming, paddle boarding, or boating allowed. Please do not enter the horse pastures. All animals are in stalls, pens, or pastures during your stay but farm animals can be unpredictable so please keep your distance and ask before petting.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

The cabin was beautiful. We were very comfortable and It did not lack in amenities. Our hosts were available if we had questions but also respected our privacy. All in all, a very enjoyable time.
It's was awesome very quiet the cabin was beautiful it was very cold outside but was warm and cozy inside. It was our 32 wedding anniversary trip and we enjoyed letting the couch down lighting a fire and watched Christmas movies it was an amazing memory made! We would love to stay here again.
Host was very welcoming, inviting us to feed the chickens and ducks upon arrival. Charming, cozy cabin and cool little back deck and trail. Such a great getaway!
Our stay was wonderful. The Grandchildren came over and had so much fun running in the horse ring! We've stayed here many times and look forward to visiting again.
Rolling hills cradle forested land and placid pond,Where green fields breathe and a grazing steed look on;Ducks trace quiet arcs, chicks gather close,Beside a logged cabin, humble, warm, for writing prose.A loft holds silence, as fireplace embers glow,While front and back porch help your day slow.
This property exceeded all our expectations. The updates to the cabin are very modern and we couldn't have been more comfortable. The setting is excellent, peaceful, and incredibly enjoyable. We wish we'd been able to spend more time there enjoying our stay!
History of the canin was neat. Being greeted by the happy and friendly dogs was fun. Relaxing to sunset over the horses grazing was amazing. Thanks for a great stay!
The cabin and property were just as described. This is a wonderful location, so peaceful and relaxing. Watching the horses graze and run was a highlight for me. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with essentials. Hosts are great. Very responsive, helpful and more than willing to answer our crazy questions regarding the raising of the animals on the ranch. We did not take advantage of the fireplace but logs (and instructions) were available. The location is perfect, very short drive to downtown Landrum. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin and farm was very comfortable and relaxing. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the animals were a delight!
Sunset Cottage was exactly as advertised. It is beautiful and secluded and is perfect for wanting to slow down for a few days from the everyday grind. The cottage gives a rustic feel but is also clean and has all the modern amenities needed. A short walk behind the cottage takes you to a secluded pond where we were able to just rest for a spell an listen to the silence of nature. The location is also fantastic as it is not far from so many beautiful small towns with so much to do. The host was very accessible and was able to answer all questions we had at a moments noticed. The cottage made for a perfect weekend getaway!
We enjoyed our weekend in the Sunset Cottage at The Adams Family Farm. I enjoyed reading about cabin. Lots of great history within those logs. You did a great job bringing it back to life.
We had such a nice time. All was as described. Cabin was cozy and just what we were looking for to kick back over Memorial day weekend. We enjoyed the farm animals, some fishing and blessed with some farm fresh eggs!
The cabin was a very nice place to stay while I was there with my son for a basketball tournament. We enjoyed fishing in the pond. We also enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm. It is a very nice quiet area. Nothing much I could say that would have improved our stay. Would love to come back again.
