Hill Top River Retreat

Cozy cottage with a beautiful river view and private dock, huge deck overlooking Chippewa bay. newly renovated kitchen with granite counter tops, huge living room with vaulted ceilings, 3 bedrooms with 2 full beds and one set of bunk beds. large TV, internet, Netflix and Hulu provided, trash and recycle provided. Propane fireplace in living room.
Chippewa bay is one of the widest areas of the river with some of the largest islands including Singer castle, Cedar island state park 5 minutes away by boat. This area is one of the most scenic areas without all the hustle and traffic of Alexandria bay or Clayton. The cottage is located on a small country dead end road, boat launch is 5 minutes away along with a small country store, Chippewa Bay is known for its excellent fishing. Gas and charcoal grill, all linens, towels, blankets provided along with a fully stocked kitchen. You can rent a pontoon boat online at River bay rentals, and they will have the boat at our dock for you when you arrive, and pick it up when you leave. Pets are welcome. We have dock space for 2 boats if needed, unlike other places we do not charge extra for dock space. please bring bottled water for drinking as this area has a lot of iron in the water.

We also have pontoon boats at our dock available for our guests to rent at affordable prices. No easier way to enjoy cruising, fishing and swimming than on our pontoon boat. Please let us know asap if you want to rent it so we can reserve it for you and have it ready to go. Damage deposit applies to the boat rental also. All pontoon boats are equipped with GPS navigation maps. Extra dock space available to rent if needed for $25 per day.

Fantastic stay! Dog friendly. Super safe. We all had a great time on the pontoon boat! Place was clean and included ALL the amenities! Neighbors were so friendly and helpful! Brett, Alice, and Chris made us feel welcome prior to the trip and all through the trip. Would recommend for sure!

This was our second year staying at the hill top cottage. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Great communication with the owner. Check in was easy. Cottage is well stocked with everything you need. Nice deck to sit on to view the bay. Has a dock for your boat with electricity to charge boat batteries. Will be back again next year.

Everything was as shown, all questions answered in timely fashion. Only issue was cottage has 2 window ac units but could only run 1 at a time and it was hot that week.that being said would rent again.

A Gem on Chippewa Bay

We had a great week at Brett's river retreat. The convenience of having our boat right out front to hop and and go was the reason we chose this listing. 2024 Chippewa Bay fishing trip

My wife and I stayed at the cottage for a week. Everything was very clean and well supplied. Host was very friendly and informative about the area. It had a nice dock with power to charge our boat batteries. We will be going back in 2025.

Great vacation

2024 Vacation

Brett was away, but Alice did a fantastic job as his replacement. She made sure that we had a wonderful time and answered all of our questions and provided us with everything that we needed. This was our 4th year in a row staying with Brett/Alice and we will be back next year!

River Retreat

Brett and Alice are a great team. The cabin is always clean and well maintained. Fishing the river yields 3-5 pound bass regularly. Nice quiet neighborhood with good neighbors. The surrounding area is great for exploring. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Had the greatest time

First and foremost Brett was incredibly helpful. His knowledge of the river was very helpful for a great boating and fishing experience. Was reliable for any questions we had. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable. Very well stocked kichen. Wonderfully peaceful area. Pontoon boat was in great condition. Will book again! Thank you Brett for your warm hospitality! Exactly the break we needed!

Great Vacation

My family and two dogs enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Cottage was clean and well stocked with all the necessities. Brett was a very hospitable host, always helpful and available if needed. The cottage is also in a great location with beautiful sunsets. We rented a pontoon during our stay and we had a great time fishing everyday. Very happy with our stay and looking forward to next year!

WONDERFUL

Brett is an awesome host. He guided our son on the operation of the pontoon boat. Brett was available whenever needed. The cottage is very nice and the location is wonderful. Neighbors around but very quiet and relaxing. Our dogs also had a wonderful time. Thank you Brett for helping us create some wonderful memories.

Great time on the River

The property was as we expected. Kids loved going to the dock to fish. Close to towns but away from tourists. Very relaxing. Wonderful neighborhood. Brett and the neighbor's made us feel at home while on vacation. Alice is a treasure.

Classic camp on the river

We had an idyllic week at this traditional camp on the river. Check in and out couldn't have been easier. Brett, among with wonderful neighbors Denise and Alice, were very helpful, easily accessible, and always there to help. The location is wonderful; Chippewa Bay is picturesque and you're right on the river if you want to strike out for Abay. The boating, fishing and sunsets were exceptional. The outdoor deck was our favorite for grilling and chilling. It is a camp; we had to work out a couple kinks on the first day (you can't run both window AC's at once or the power blows, the oven pilot light has to be manually lit, and you can, but probably don't want to, drink the water due to taste/high iron content so stock up on bottled.) However, we had a GREAT WEEK. The camp is cozy and beds were comfy. We also rented a pontoon boat from Brett and really enjoyed boating over to Cedar Island State Park, a short few minutes away, where you can rent dock space for a small fee and use it all day. We swam off the pontoon boat as well. It was a great add to the week! Everyone in the neighborhood was so nice. We've rented places before that were nice but the neighbors were not, and that can ruin a vacation. Well, the neighbors here were WONDERFUL. Brett brought us fresh fish he'd caught, and Denise/Alice were always available with the golf cart if needed or with help of any sort. It's a lovely little community. We would definitely recommend/book again.

A great Fourth of July 2023

My wife and I had another couple that’s never been there before come with us the cabin was very clean and convenient close to boat launch nice docking access owner was very helpful actually rented a pontoon boat to tour them around all the islands very nice day all of us had an awesome vacation would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away hope to come back next year thank you Brett 👍
