This cabin is a Masterpiece! 2 Minutes from the Self Creek Marina and boat ramp you won’t be disappointed with any of the amenities or ease of satisfaction! This luxurious vacation rental is nestled in a wooded escape close enough to Dallas but far enough to feel the remoteness and tranquility of the great outdoors. Before entering the home you will climb a few reclaimed historic log steps leading to the oversized front door and have option for wheelchair access ramp for handicap mobility. Once inside you will find the welcoming foyer capable of taking your breath away. With the family room and kitchen open to one another there is great space to unload and get acquainted to the finer things in life! The kitchen boasts top of the line appliances with every cabinet and drawer loaded full of your culinary needs. From the k-cup coffee maker to the old school percolator your mornings will have every reason to enjoy a warm cup of Joe on the front porch rockers. The family room has a wood burning fireplace to keep warm and offers a powder bathroom conveniently located for den and kitchen area. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with full size washer and dryer and shelving for pantry goods. The master is a retreat all on its own! This king size suite has bedside chandeliers that suggest the most romantic encounter. The master bathroom is enough to write home about as well! This Magazine worthy and designer inspired “wet room” will take your breath away! Hosting a footed tub, jet shower and three body sprays you will consider skipping the lake and splash in the comforts of this master bathroom. Dual sinks and mirrors make the space comfortable and easy to organize. The original root cellar of this historic cabin has been transformed to a second bedroom with two full size beds and its own bath en-suite with an over sized shower and modern bath elements.
The bedroom downstairs also has its own exterior entrance/exit as well as interior access via a custom iron ship ladder located in the family room. There is a propane grille on the back porch. The master and den have smart tv’s and dish satellite. There is free wifi. Additional options are available to make your stay even grander-such as fresh flowers upon arrival, cut wood for the outdoor fire pit and fireplace inside, and basic grocery needs at an additional fee.

As lovely as we remembered...

This was our second stay and it was just as lovely as we remembered. Everything was impeccably clean, relaxing and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. There were even beautiful fall flowers and Thanksgiving plates and napkins waiting for us! It feels like a home away from home - we just love it!

Peaceful and relaxing

Everything was perfect from the booking, check-in, and check-out. We had a wonderful weekend getaway; the cabin is beautifully decorated, the kitchen had every every single appliance and cookware you could need, and the house was packed with the best amenities. We were only about 15-20 minutes away from a bigger town that had a few local restaurants. We were within walking distance of a marina that had boat rentals. We also went to the Crater of Diamonds State Park which was about a 30 minute drive. The cabin location is quiet and secluded where you have privacy, but also close enough to attractions if you want to get out and explore nature. I was actually sad to leave because I enjoyed my stay so much!! I highly recommend, 10/10, 5 star cabin. You will not regret your stay here!

Fantastic retreat!

We extended our stay in the Hot Springs area with a two night visit to this property, and we are SO glad we did! We found it to be exceptional In every detail, beautifully designed and furnished, with every convenience one might need. We immediately felt ‘at home’ here, and everything was thoughtfully laid out, including the very well equipped kitchen, which we definitely appreciated. The fresh flowers and snacks in the kitchen and main bedroom were a thoughtful touch. Our two young boys were thrilled with the downstairs bedroom area, which was so fun for them! No detail was overlooked here, and you can instantly tell that the owners have taken great pride in providing a beautiful property that has everything one might need for an enjoyable stay. Discerning guests will recognize this property as top notch, and it will be difficult to measure other properties against it in almost every detail. This is one that does not disappoint!

Gorgeous Cabin, Peaceful Setting

This gorgeous cabin was exceptional in every way. It was sparkling clean, had everything we needed, and was beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. We stayed five nights and truly lived in the space - we relaxed, entertained friends and family, cooked and grilled, and the experience was amazing. The kitchen is such a great place to hang out is set up so well for anything you’d want to prepare. I also loved how much space the utility room provided for storage of pantry items, or anything else we wanted to secure indoors. The master suite was lovely - normally I don’t sleep well when traveling, but I was able rest so comfortably there! We didn’t utilize it much, but the root cellar second bedroom was so unique and fun! It was also quite handy having access to it from outdoors and had plenty of room to store a bike. One of the things I loved most was the outdoor space - plenty of seating in front and back as well as the fire pit area. The house also has a periodic misting system for bugs and I’m happy to say that we were able to enjoy the outdoors without mosquitos or other pests bothering us! We loved staying there so much and can hardly wait to visit again!

AMAZING

This property EXCEEDED our expectations! This cabin/cottage is so charming, cozy, welcoming, and impeccably CLEAN! We arrived after dark, and was welcomed to all the exterior lights on; along with the foyer lights on. This was so nice:) We even had a bouquet fresh flowers sitting on the island and Ghirardelli chocolate next to our pillows. The home smelled so delightful my husband kept saying “I love this scent”. He never makes comments like that. These hosts out did themselves. This property is completely new! To think of the love and labor that when into renovation truly shows with every detail. The beds are beyond comfy, we all slept amazing, super soft linens and pillows. The bathrooms OMG, GORGEOUS. The kitchen has everything you need to accommodate any sort of gathering. The fire pit outside is just precious (only wished we had enough time to enjoy it). All tvs are smart, along with satellite and GREAT WIFI! We will for sure be back to this lovely property. *Side note, I kept saying this lady has to be a designer, her choices are just so gorg! This property inspired us into (maybe) creating our own Vrbo near where we live! I truly tend to be VERY PICKY as I get older where I want to stay, (you know….germs and all LOL), I had absolutely NO HESITATION here! It truly felt like my own home. We even had some of the same decor choices LOL! We TRULY can’t thank you enough for opening this home up to us to enjoy! We made fun memories and lots of laughs this weekend! Oh and for the fisherman……it’s minutes from the lake;)

Beautifully kept oasis

This cabin was honestly lucky find for me, i stumbled across it mere days before the dates my family had picked out. I booked it for 3 days after I made the reservation and the host even agreed to move our dates forward one day because we couldn’t arrive in time. Once we arrived the place was impeccably clean, everything looked brand new and the towels and sheets and all felt and smelled newer than new. The lighting setup was perfect for us arriving in the pitch black night, the floor was so clean one could eat off of it. All of the cabinets in the kitchen were masterfully organized and the thoughtful Art and decoration took us by surprise. This place is worth far more than they’ve got it listed for, certainly a steal! The checkout process is simple and reasonable and if you happen to leave something at the property this host makes quick work of getting your belongings back to you! Would rent again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone I know, just follow the checkout procedures!

Visiting crater of diamonds

Perfect for our group.. sisters and spouses.. cabin is beautifully equipped…perfect blend of an old log cabin with the sophistication of a New York penthouse.. loved sitting on both porches after working hard at the mine… lake Greeson is an added bonus….was a sweet surprise birthday cake.. banner,..paper stuff… so so sweet… thank you again for everything….

Beautiful home

The cabin was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Perfect location for visiting Crater of Diamonds State Park and for doing a little fishing. We were only able to stay 3 days this time, but next visit will be longer and I hope we can stay at this cabin again. Our hostess was very welcoming and communication was top notch. You won’t regret staying at this beautiful home!

We are newly empty-nesters with a passion for the outdoors, entertaining and serving our Heavenly Father. This project was initially to distract Mandy from both kids leaving for college. Being a nurturer at heart, this sweet cabin was the perfect project at the perfect time for her! It has a great history and we promised the family we purchased from that we would salvage everything we could and love this place as much as they did!! That quickly turned into more than we bargained for but knowing we wanted to keep the integrity of this beautiful historic cabin we decided to not let a single detail be overlooked (hence the name “The Money Pit”) We saw blessing beyond blessing throughout the entire project. Although, at first it was not intended to rent we wanted it as an overflow for our guest (we own a lake house on the same street) and to donate to our church and Mission Maasai, a mission we support in Empukani, Kenya that Mandy has become very fond of the people there and travels there annually. As we progressed with renovations we felt extremely led to share this journey with many! Which brings us to our theme verse, Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” We pray you see the majestic wonders and feel peace when you stay in this cabin.
