Fish House, Stay Someplace Cool

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Stay someplace fun. The Fish house comfortably accommodates family and friends in a great location with unique architectural character and many amenities.....this place is a great escape. The open living/kitchen/dining space upstairs is like being in a tree house with a twist. Downstairs are two identical bedrooms with queen beds, closets, built in storage drawers, and wall mounted TV/DVD. In between the two queen bedrooms is a four twin bed bunk room for the kids or whomever…with private reading lights and a sliding barn type door. Two full baths with stone floors as well as a laundry room are also conveniently located on the lower level.

Upstairs is an open living room, dining area and full kitchen, along with another bathroom, ascend the ships ladder up from the second floor deck to the 3rd level sun deck with covered trellis. Hang out in the hammock or lay back in the lounge chairs up in the trees with a peek to the ocean. Wireless internet access is included throughout, with wired access points in strategic locations for added convenience.

The house is a short stroll…450 steps, to the best piece of beach there is. Eastern Lake flows into the gulf and makes a safe haven for floating in the shallow current or chasing fish with your net. It is also a great place to skim board, kayak(included), paddle board (included) or hit the surf. A community pool is available for guest use in season.

If you don’t feel like cooking in the full size, fully equipped kitchen or barbequeing on the charcoal grill, there are plenty of nearby restaurants and conveniences from Grayton to Seaside to Watercolor…you will be at the center of all the best.

This is a great value. Save your money for shopping, eating out, having fun….or stay two weeks….you deserve it.

About Tim Fish

We live and work in Atlanta.

I am an Architect, I designed the house.

We enjoy sharing it with friends and others who appreciate similar things...

Comfort, simplicity, beauty and time to relax sometimes.

Tim Fish purchased this house in 2006

Why Tim Fish chose Beaches of South Walton

We had been vacationing for years here with our family.

The Eastern Lake Beach is the coolest place we found.

We also liked the natural setting of the lot we selected.

We nestled the house in and kept the trees and vegetation up close. We tried to make it fun, relaxing and unique.

What makes this house unique

You may want to bike or run east to Deer Lake, or take advantage of the dune walks at Water sound.

Seaside is west about two miles. There are some great trails on the north side of 30A where you can see some beautiful old cypress trees. Use the kayak to do some exploring as well. Get off the beaten path, and just take it easy.

My family loved this house. It was myself, my husband, and our two kids (8yrs&6yrs) staying here but I felt like we had room for another couple. My little girls LOVED the bunk beds and the sliding fish door. Our room was very comfortable as well. Everything was very clean. I read some reviews about the tv and internet. Check the coffee table because there is a manual on how to operate everything. We watched a movie one night and it's hooked up to wall speakers for surround sound. Loved it. It's only about a 5 minute walk down to the beach but it's SO worth it. Both my kids made it fine but they are use to walking to school. We paid for beach chairs and an umbrella to be set up for us for the day so we didn't have to haul that down there. Worth it and not expensive. The eastern lake inlet was amazing. One day it was crystal clear blue water. Another day it was brown from the pine trees near the lake. But don't let that fool you, it was still clear and perfect for young kids to swim in without having to be in the ocean waves. This was one of the prettiest beaches I have ever been to. We didn't get a chance to use the paddle board or canoe or bikes but had hoped to. It was nice having them there for sure! Seaside is a 2min drive with restaurants, shops and a grocery store. Very convenient and cool town. This house has a lot of stairs but we loved that. If you have a toddler or baby, bring a baby gate. As a mom, I think it would be easy to set one up at the top or bottom of the stairs if needed. LOVED staying at this house and hope to return!

Beautiful property, perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful layout, very clean, and thoughtfully providing of bikes and a paddleboard for guests' use. Great location on 30-A; 2-3 miles east of Seaside and all the restaurants and the Publix, but in a quiet neighborhood two blocks from beach and one block from neighborhood pool.

Loved it!!! Very accommodating!

Stayed here for a week with our 4 kids and it had everything we needed! Very clean and the beds were very comfortable 👈?🏼?Huge plus!!! Short walk to the beach/lake. This week the wind was in full effect so the kids enjoyed the calmer waters of the lake side. Would definitely recommend to others!

Clean, comfortable, convenient

Loved the Fish House. It is perfect for one or two small families. Love the layout and its well designed. We enjoy coming to this area, close to Eastern Lake and the gulf. It's great the owner provides a kayak, bikes and a paddle board-that's a huge savings right there. I read the reviews from the previous guests so we knew what to expect. I'd definitely book again.

Very Nice Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

The house was great for our needs. Very clean and modern. Ideal for adults and teens, but maybe not for toddlers, due to all of the stairs. The house is close enough to the beach that we could walk with no trouble. The section of the beach was nice and not very crowded, which is what we wanted. Loved seeing all the herons that were helping the men fish on the beach.

We also took advantage of the nearby neighborhood pool.

We could never manage to connect to the internet or figure out how to get the bedroom televisions to come on, but we weren't really there to watch tv or surf the net. We had a very relaxing mini mid-week vacation.

Mr. Fish was quick to reply to texts and very easy with whom to communicate. We enjoyed the house and our stay immensely.

Had a great time for a short trip!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Fish House! We were only there for a few days, but LOVED the beach close by. It had both a lake and beach and was not crowded at all! We easily rented chairs and an umbrella from one of the local companies for both of our beach days. It was a little bit of a hike to get there with a 5 year old and 1.5 year old in tow, so I would recommend bringing a wagon to hold the kids and all the beach stuff. I would also recommend driving with the kayak and paddle board. My husband was able to walk out to the lake with our 5 year old, board, and paddle, but it was a workout and he only did it once! We loved that the house had the paddle board, adult bikes, and kayak for guests to use. The area is really nice and easy to get to lots of restaurants and retail areas close by (driving, not walking). The Fish House was clean and well-maintained and the owner provided great customer service! I would recommend bringing everything you may need to cook and clean including salt, pepper, paper towels, washing detergent, dish soap, sponges, etc because nothing like that is stocked. We went to the grocery store on the way in and did not realize that until we got there. Also, the top floor gets VERY warm. There are no fans on the top floor and it seemed like the cool air from the AC did not quite make it's way up there, no matter how low the AC was. The bottom floor got cool, though, and that's were the bedrooms are. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay and would go back to that beach in a heartbeat!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the comment on the AC. The upper level can get out of balance when the vents downstairs get adjusted too far open. The trick is to close down the vents downstairs and fully open the upstairs vents so the air is better distributed to the upper level...I will update the arrival info or post a note at the house to better address that. Thanks for staying, and sharing your comments.
