Right on Medina Lake! Your large Deck overlooks the lake.

Brand new rehab in 2022, so everything is new from beds to appliances. There is wireless internet and TVs in most bedrooms. It is complete with coffee pot, K-cups, pots and pans and more. All appliances are new. There are 2 Queens/two bunkbeds with full size beds on bottom bunk. Will sleep 8 comfortably. There is a a beautiful Medina Lake view from the kitchen, living room, the upstairs bedroom, and one balcony with a coffee table.

The lake in front of our house is down to 14 feet. You will have beautiful views from your deck of the hills across the lake. It is a short drive to the town of Lakehills for restaurant choices and entertainment options. We have the best of both worlds with peace and quiet, country living and comforts of home, but can still get to San Antonio outskirts in 30 minutes.

Note: 6/25/23 Our stairs do go to the dock and water, but the dock is on land. We look forward to you relaxing and staying in our beautiful home.

Wonderful

The owner was wonderful, the location is great and the place was beautiful. You can still see the lake, although the water level is very low. The only negative is that the mattresses on the bunk beds were very thin and not very supportive. But, they would probably be ok for light weight children.

Great place to relax!

The owner is very friendly and helpful. My nieces absolutely loved the kid's bedroom! There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The deck is wonderful!

Thanksgiving Holiday

We spent our Thanksgiving holiday here and the accommodations were perfect. There were 5 adults and 4 children. The house had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving meal. We spent one day at Fiesta Texas and another in Bandera. The house is about midway between the two. About 45 mins to each. Had a beautiful view of the lake out back and deer every morning in the front. It is a beautiful home!

Beautiful home with amazing lake view

House is beautiful and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Beautiful lake view even though the lake was very low during our stay. My family and I enjoyed sitting out on deck in the evenings. The owners are super friendly, helpful, and available to answer and questions.

Good and not so good

The shared portion of the home was very clean and nicely decorated. This was appreciated!! The owner was easy to contact and helped us in a quick turn around. However, the sulfur issue with the water was not fixed yet. It smelled very strong every time we showered or washed our hands. Also, the lake was only at 12%. This is not the owner's fault at all, but made the lake unaccessible.

Great Stay Beautiful Home

I booked this property almost a year ahead of my stay. I started getting messages from the owners almost 5 months in advance regarding details of the lake level, boat dock, and general house details. It was nice to not have to chase down information. Arrival details were clearly communicated and everything was as advertised. House seemed to be recently remodeled and updated. All appliance and kitchen items seemed new. We cooked 3 full meals for a group of 8 and had everything we needed. The lake was lower than it has been in the past 5 years. The dock for the house was no longer in the water (no fault to the owners, they have an extremely long stairway), but there were only a hand full of docks that were. There is plenty of swimming room and the water there is still very deep. Great stay, great house, great time!

DID NOT DISAPPOINT

This Lakehouse felt like we were not in Texas and it’s just the quick getaway we needed! The scenery allowed us to be at peace and content from the craziness of the world. The home is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The view from both balconies to the lake is breathtaking. Our family enjoyed hanging out on the swimming pad and jumping off of it. There is PLENTY of lake water and no need to go anywhere else for a few days as long as you stock up on food. We were able to cook 3 meals a day for 4 days with everything the kitchen and outside propane grill provided. The host was always available and helpful. Great late summer getaway with one caveat

Visually, this property was everything it was made out to be in its description. The house is beautiful and spacious. We were able to fit two full families comfortably by slitting the upstairs and downstairs, and the outdoor space was a welcome addition. Most of the creature comforts were available, including extra paper towels and toilet paper, and there was an abundance of dishes, silverware, pots, and pans. The views were impeccable. There is a long - and I mean long - staircase to the lake. It's a workout, but definitely worth it. The dock is great. It's wood, so it's not too hot. It has seating, storage, and even a bottle opener. We spent a lot of time jumping off the dock and swimming around it. We also had two boats, but we didn't tie either up. The dock doesn't have a bumper, so it's not really equipped for that, but it didn't diminish the experience. The road to the house is a bit rocky and narrow. I couldn't imagine driving a car up there because there are a lot of bumps in the road (we had trucks and SUVs). But it's a fairly simple drive in a private secluded neighborhood. We met some neighbors and everyone was nice. There were lots of deer around the property. Now, the bad. When we were there - and I didn't see this from any other reviewer, so it might have been unique to us - the water had an awful sulfur smell (think rotten eggs). Every time we used water in the kitchen it would make the entire house smell, so we had to keep a candle lit to make it tolerable. It was tough taking showers because of the smell of the water, and the kids were affected because the hydrogen sulfide gas was omnipresent the minute we opened any faucet. We ended up bringing in gallon bottles of water to brush teeth, wash hands, and clean cups that had been rinsed in the stinky water (we also did not drink the water or use the ice). After using regular dishes for a while, we ultimately went to all disposable stuff so we wouldn't have to use the sink. The biggest issue was that we were never made aware of the smell or a possibility of a smell by the owners. We brought it up to them and they assured us they had taken steps to mitigate it, but the smell really was overpowering and made no one want to go near the water (even if the water was filtered and safe). Overall, our stay was a good one. We had a lot of fun and the proximity to the water was excellent. Everything was perfect except for the smell, and the smell ended up being a pretty big deal.

Wonderful hill country getaway!

The views on the property were amazing! We loved being able to walk down to the dock to swim. The kids really enjoyed jumping off the pier and the water is quite deep at the end of the pier. The water at the pier does get a little rough at times but it didn’t stop the fun! You definitely will get some exercise going up and down the steps to get to the water but it is worth it! The house had plenty of rooms including a beautiful view from the balcony on the first and second floors. The owner was very hospitable and was there to assist with any questions or concerns. It was a very relaxing family trip! We would love to come back soon!

Beautiful View and Great Hosts!

The view is amazing and the hosts are great. My entire family loved it. There are plenty of things to do near by or not too far from the location. My kids had a blast swimming in the lake and jumping off the dock. We went skiing at Wally's Water Sports twice and tubing on Medina River. The hosts checked in with us to make sure we got in OK and that had everything we needed. It was a great vacation for all of us. I'm hoping to go back soon.

Gorgeous location, all the amenities, most accommodating hosts!

I rented this space to spend with family from all over Texas. Everyone who came had only wonderful things to say about our host, the location and the property. The host was respectful of our space but accessible if we needed anything. The house was very clean and well maintained. Such a relaxing and fun stay. We will be back for future stays!

Lake relaxation

Great Lake access and view. We brought our SUP and kayak to enjoy the lake. It was really easy to take it to the water. Our kids loved just jumping off the deck. The house has been recently renovated and is all in great order. The deck has shade in the afternoon which made very pleasant to grill and enjoy the sunset. We hope to come back and enjoy it with friends.

Quiet isolated retreat

Property is isolated part of larger house. Clean, quiet unit with steps all the way down to the floating dock good for swimming. Great deck for sitting out in the mornings and evenings. 15 min from nearest convenience store and 30 min from grocery on windy roads some of which are pretty rough so stock up on supplies on the way in. No rentals for jet skis at Medina lake this year (2021) but there is a place that rents boats, kayaks, stand up paddle boards.

Great extended weekend on Medina.

We had a great 5 days on Medina Lake staying in the house. House is freshly remodeled and clean. Communication with the owner was great and he made sure we had what we needed going above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. The stairs down to the water were awesome, having grown up on the lake in the 80's we know the deal with fluctuating water levels. The lake was about 35' low, and on most properties that would mean a trek down a uneven rocky slope with tripping hazards galore but not with the steel stair case that takes you from the back porch to the dock, it is 155 steps so you definitely get a work out in but that is part of the charm of Medina, everyone was safe from our 4 yr old grand daughter to our 78 yr old Mother. A couple of items future guest need to know, the dock is on the main lake so it see's a lot of boat traffic, wake boats throwing 3 to 4' wakes less than 100 yards in front of the dock are common so if you take a boat plan accordingly to be able to protect your boat while tied up at the dock, we knew this going in from our experience on the lake. We had two boats and has a system to tie off so all was good. The second item is the private road to the house, it is all paved but very bumpy and very narrow, we chose to leave the boats in the water all weekend due to not wanting to make that trip through there with our boats more than once. Once back to the property it is private and quiet with deer laying around in the front yard pretty much all the time. We are already looking at dates for a return trip to the house.

Beautiful location bad timing

The house was great and right on the Lake... Unfortunately it rained all 4 days we were there so we were not able to enjoy the doc in the outdoors as much as we would have loved to. View was fantastic.

San Antonio Family Getaway

If you are looking for a great spot that accommodates multiple families - this is your place. The grandparents and adult kids were upstairs with our own bathroom and the Parents and young kids downstairs with a bathroom. In addition, you have excellent outdoor space with plenty of seating for all your guest. The property owner was beyond accommodating with our entire family and assisted with directions etc.

Retreat heaven

We wanted a special place for our anniversary since we were unable to celebrate last year due to Covid. This place provided a wonderful getaway for a few days We will return another day. The steps to the dock even provided some needed exercise.

We are a husband and wife team who work hard at making guest experiences as nice as possible. We bought this lake house knowing that it was going to require a complete "down to the studs" renovation, and spent a year and a half rebuilding it carefully.
We live close to the property and we ensure it is cleaned completely after each guest departs.

It was Sandy's dream to have a house on the lake, and when we found this one, we knew that having direct lake access, a dock, and magnificent views to wake up to would make that dream come true. On the tip of Masterson's Point in Mico, and close to the Medina Lake dam, it is one of the deepest parts of the lake. The view is indeed sparkling and the boats and jet skis going by are enjoyable. Sitting on the dock at the foot of the stairs in the evening is just a slice of heaven.
