  • The perfect lake house

"We had a great time. Life truly is better when on the lake. The house worked out well for us. The rental came with two kayaks and a paddle boat. The kayaks were great exercise in the morning and evening. The large dock allowed us to sit and enjoy a great cove. The kids loved the side and the water."

  • A Beautiful Step Back in Time!

"Our family of six planned a relaxing weekend on the Llano River, and we arrived late Friday afternoon, to a beautiful Texas Hill Country setting... complete with a setting sun, and cows 'mooing' in the field! The breathtaking views, the stunning 1800's stone farmhouse, and the incredible history, was more then we expected! We even found the engraved '1883' date on the original family cabinet in the living room, (after serious super-sleuthing!) We had such a great family Labor Day weekend, exploring Castell, the Llano River and all areas in between. We only went into Mason twice, which wasn't enough! Once it was to pick up dinner, to bring back to the house (well, we HAD to watch our Texas Longhorns play Notre Dame!!) The house was so comfortable, and each room made us all feel so much at home. The kitchen was perfect, having everything I needed, to make a big breakfast each day. (What a treat to arrive and already have milk and orange juice in the 'frig!) The added notes on the table of 'where to go and what to do' was especially nice. I think the crowning touch was watching the neon sun rise above the hills, through a cloud of morning fog, while we sat and drank coffee on the front porch. (Would love to send you a photo!) There is no doubt, we will be back!!! Thank you Pat, and Robin! The Mark Mladenka Family Midland, Texas"

  • Perfect Colorado River Get Away

"Fabulous place on the water. The location is a quiet part of the river with beautiful lawn and small dock, perfect for jumping, diving, sunbathing and stargazing. Above the dock and expansive lawn is the house with a big deck and table that would seat 8 with built in benches surrounding it. The recently remodeled house is a large two bedrooms very comfortable beds and pillows . large open den and dining area looking out toward the deck and the water. There were plenty of extras too, fire pit with s'mores fixings, excellent high heat grill, noodles, two single and one double kayak with easy launch with lifejackets. There were 3 a/c's with individual control that kept the place very comfortable. There were many small touches that were welcoming, the extra toiletries, band-aids, flashlight and bird watching binoculars. The owners were nice enough to warn of the LCRA closing the river and surrounding lakes while the flood control gates were open and work with us if we wanted to cancel. I recommend it."
