We’ve stayed in a lot of VRBO’s over the years and this is one of the best! The house is amazing. So clean and well thought out. Stocked with everything you can imagine. Beautifully decorated and well taken care of. Loved that it was pet friendly as well. So convenient to the IU campus and all that has to offer. The owner was very responsive to us as well. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with our dog!

Perfect stay in Bloomington. Well-maintained and clean bungalow with so many amenities. Beautiful decor as well. You could tell a lot of thought was put into this property to make it extra special. Close to IU, shopping, and dining. We loved that this house had a crib for our young child and so many other items for visitors with children. It's near impossible to find a hotel or rental with a crib and the thought was really appreciated.

Awesome spot for IU visit with family!

Our family luved this clean and elegant bungalow during a visit to IU. A short walk from campus as well as dining and shopping. Look forward to retuning when we are back in town!

"Back Home Again in Indiana"

Our second stay at this beautiful, classic Bloomington bungalow. Stayed for IU homecoming weekend (10/24) with my wife and college friend and his wife. This is my favorite place to stay in Bloomington which I visit once a year. Great location with a walk to Kirkwood street and close to supermarket and Big Red Liquors. Also, a close walk to a wonderful restaurant called "The Elm". This place is so decorated so appropriately for the Bloomington experience. Great kitchen, living space, large bedrooms and outside porch. Enjoyed the retro turntable with over 150 albums. Cannot recommend this place enough. Will definitely return. Go IU.

Perfect for visiting IU Parents

We had a wonderful weekend at this property. Our IU students who visited us also loved it! The front porch was cozy and perfect for conversations, the beds were very comfortable and the overall space was perfect for a IU Moms getaway! Check in and out was very easy and communication with the owners was immediate! I can't recommend it enough. We plan on returning next year!

Amazing home, perfect location

We loved everything about our stay. The house has unique historical charm while maintaining a modern, open feel. So clean, and so comfy, from the beds and pillows to the living room decor. The house has everything: large dining table, updated kitchen and appliances, washer/dryer and a keurig machine (which came in handy while "working from home"). We were there visiting our old Bloomington favorites, and it was so great walking from our incredible front porch, and straight down the street to the 4th street arts festival and Soma coffee house. There was an IU football game in town, so the fall vibe and pageantry surrounded us. The house was the perfect place to end every day. A place to call home. Thank you to our wonderful hosts! Truly amazing stay!

Nice place to stay close to campus for what we were there to do

My wife graduated from Indiana University in 1982 she hasn’t been back since we did a lot of walking on campus bought back lots of memories for her we live south of Chicago iam a orange and Blue fan illni we did walk around football and Basketball stadium I am glad we went we had a great time talked to lots of good people Bloomington thanks for your hospitality and thanks for opening your home to us

Beautiful home, perfect location!

We had the best time! I could have spent the entire 3 days on the beautiful front porch. House is adorable and decorated so nice. Check in was seamless. Location was perfect. Close to downtown and campus. Washer and dryer if needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect IU trip

The lovely B-Town Bungalow is as advertised. While the kitchen is not large, it is laid out well with everything needed to prepare a meal from scratch. Devin is a responsive host and the house is comfortable and cozy. Would highly recommend.

Bloomington Bungalow

The Bloomington Bungalow was a great place for our family to stay over our busy weekend of plans. The home matched the online pictures and amenities were as described. The beds were super comfortable and the neighborhood was whisper quiet at night. Absolutely best place to stay in Bloomington

We’ve stayed in seven different rentals in town and this house is the one we’ll keep going back to. It is perfectly located and expertly appointed. The pictures are wonderful yet the house is even better. My only suggestions to guests are to ask the owner to leave lights on if you’re going to arrive after dark, and to give more specific instructions for the entrance key pad.

Hi, I’m Devin, my husband Andrew and I run StayIU. We’ve hosted for 10+ years and focus on thoughtful, guest-first stays: clear communication, spotless homes, and practical, beautiful design.

We’re Indiana University grads who still love Bloomington. Most of our guests are here to visit their students, catch a game, or see a performance, so our places are set up for real life: cook a favorite meal, spread out, and relax on a quiet street that’s still walkable to campus.

Our portfolio started in 2014 (after buying Bear’s Place) and now includes Bloomington homes plus sister properties in Palm Beach, FL and Scottsdale, AZ. Different markets, same standards.

We picked this house for the location and the lifestyle. It’s an easy walk to IU’s Sample Gates, Kirkwood, and downtown, close to everything, yet on a quiet street that feels like home after a busy day on campus. We’re parents and IU grads, so we designed it for real visits: space to cook your student’s favorite meal, room to spread out, and a front porch that’s perfect for unwinding after bedtime.

Over the last few years we fully renovated the kitchen and both baths for everyday function (not just looks): modern fixtures, reliable A/C and heat, and comfortable, durable furnishings. The two bedrooms are unusually spacious for a historic bungalow, and we keep the closets and drawers clear, so you can actually unpack.

We also love the neighborhood. Elm Heights has a great mix of long-time residents and students, which keeps things lively but respectful. You can stroll to Nick’s, Kilroy’s, Starbucks, and campus performances, or head a few blocks to Bryan Park for playground time, a swim, or a morning jog.

In short: walkable to everything you’ll want, quiet when you’re home, and set up the way we like to travel with our own family, simple, comfortable, and easy.
