We have owned this beautiful property for more than 25 years. Our family has enjoyed family gatherings and group events here for a long time, and we are happy to share the opportunity with other groups so that they can experience the beauty and serenity of The Lodge at Oak Creek Ranch.
The Owner purchased this lodge in 1986
We bought this property in the mid-80s. It was an old Campfire Girl’s camp that Campfire no longer needed. Jeff’s sister was a Campfire board member who introduced us to it. Early years were all vision and planning. We slowly began making improvements from 2000 to 2009. We have controlled every detail of the development and continue to work each time we are here to make it a little better.
It enriches our lives to share this place with people, hoping that they leave with just a little more positive spirit. It is a wonderful place to just connect with people and nature in a world where those simple acts are challenging.
The remote location and serene setting, along with the fact that rental groups have exclusive use of the entire property, make Oak Creek Ranch the perfect location for corporate retreats, family reunions and other intimate gatherings.
Our group LOVED Oak Creek Lodge and hopes to return in greater number some day! We cooked, we ate, we swam, we played bocce, we had a craft table in the dining room that was occupied with one or more of us most of the weekend. We hiked the property, had lunch on Sunday at the Pozo Saloon where we regrouped after 5 of us hiked the Rinconada Trail (woof!). I did a little watercolor sketch of the barn while sitting on a bench in a nice shady spot. You must be SO PROUD of the ranch.
I recently organized a 21-person tech retreat for web developers and designers, and the Lodge at Oak Creek Ranch was the perfect venue for relaxation and conversation! We spent our days in group discussions, and we could easily fit the full group in the spacious lodge room or spread out to the porch, dining room, and barn loft for smaller breakout sessions. WiFi signal was strong in all of the shared spaces so attendees could get work done as needed. We all fit nicely at the two large tables in the dining room (which also has a whiteboard and corkboards), and our caterer was thrilled with the spacious and well-equipped kitchen.
Guests loved spending evenings relaxing around a campfire in a fire pit that sits on a patio between the lodge and the barn (firewood provided!). We hosted morning yoga classes in the studio above the pool bar (mats included!). The group enjoyed a sunset hayride to a scenic viewpoint not far from the ranch, and we spotted plenty of wildlife throughout the weekend. The pool was ginormous and would be fabulous in warmer months.
Dottie, the owner, was an absolute gem. She provided detailed documentation on sleeping arrangements so I could pair up roommates before the event, and it was clear from her questions and advice that she's worked with all sorts of groups from business retreats to family reunions. As an event organizer, I was thrilled to find all the nuts and bolts provided - linens, dishes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc - with instructions on where to find things we might need during our stay. This was by far the best experience I've had with a rental property, and I would highly recommend the Lodge at Oak Creek Ranch to others!
We just held a big family reunion of 21 adults and 12 children of all ages at Oak Creek Lodge. The property is beautiful and the main lodge was perfect for all the gatherings and group meals. There was plenty of room for everyone and yet it was easy to find a place to get away if that was what you wanted. Bedrooms were very quiet even with a lot of people in the house. Kitchen was large and we used it heavily as we did all our own cooking. The pool was a big gathering place for all as was the Barn. We took advantage of the property for hikes and exploring. We spent 4 days together without leaving the property and everyone had a great time! We would highly recommend Oak Creek Ranch for large gatherings in a beautiful setting.
20 of my closest family members took over the Lodge for our annual reunion. It was excellent! The main living room was the perfect hang-out spot where everyone could be together or split off into smaller groups to catch up. We sat by the fire and played games. We had plenty of space for us all to dine together. The kitchen was large and great (we brought our own caterer.) Folks also really enjoyed going on walks and even driving out to Morro Bay. It was really nice to be in the country by ourselves in a comfy environment. It was a bit chilly to take full advantage of the outdoor hanging out, but we had a truly lovely time.
What a wonderful weekend away from the rest of the world. We rang in my 40th birthday with a group of ladies. The grounds were amazing to hike around on and you are on your own little paradise. We stargazed each night. We cooked meals paired with wine from tasting in the Paso Robles area and sat down for a seated dinner each night. I will be dreaming of the long griddle stove for months now and the meals that we prepared on it. We left for the day on Saturday for wine tasting (about a 45 minute drive to where several are located in a row.) There is a winery right down the road but sadly we did not get back in time to see it or the local saloon. We plan on returning in the summer with our bikes for a stay so we can also get use of the massive swimming pool that is on site.
The place is so large that you can either spend time together or if you have ones in your group that love to relax away from the energy of a large crowd.
Dottie was fabulous to work with and responds to any questions right away via email or by phone. One of the best house owners/managers that I have rented from. It would be a great place to host a family reunion.
Our family used to always celebrate Thanksgiving in the Paso Robles area when Mom and Dad were alive and now that they have both passed we wanted to get the whole family together for one last Thanksgiving in the area. The challenge was to find something with 9 bedrooms and enough bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The Lodge at Oak Creek really fit the bill for us. The spacious grounds gave plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to hike and play Bocce Ball. The huge living room worked perfectly for family time and the commercial kitchen and huge dining room bad Thanksgiving dinner an enjoyable task.
The little community of Pozo with the saloon and Vintage Cowboy wine tasting room made us feel like we were part of the community. The Range, a restaurant in nearby Santa Margarita was an excellent choice for dinner too.
Dottie was always quick to answer any questions and more than accommodating for any request. Brooke, who greeted us at the lodge, was very helpful too.
This property is perfect for family reunions or any large group to get away. I would recommend it with our reservation if you are considering staying here.
Had our Mom's 80th bday summer get together for our large family and Oak Creek Lodge was the perfect setting!! Plenty of room for kids and adults ... just perfect place for all ages! The lodge was very clean, spacious and nice cabin feel decor.
The pool area was great to relax or for the kids to play in the pool. The large outdoor patio was relaxing for family nightly get togethers. Also great hiking.
Highly recommend this spot for family get togethers. My family is going to rent again soon!!!
