Cottage in the Trees - A getaway from everything, close to everything
ELM SPRINGS, AR - Enjoy a cup of coffee on the large porch and listen to the birds as the sun peeks through or relax at night with a glass of wine by listening to the crickets and frogs. Keep a lookout for neighbors riding horses down the road, cyclists riding along the rural roads, or deer creeping down the street.
Our newer dedicated rental is a fully-renovated cottage in Elm Springs, AR next-door to our home on a 10 acres mini-farm. You will be close to everything NWA has to offer when you stay at this centrally-located place. Almost anything in Northwest Arkansas is within 25 minutes from Crystal Bridges in Bentonville to the north and Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville to the south. 10 min to XNA Airport, I-49 Exit 77, Hwy 112, or Hwy 412. We are about 25-30 minutes to most major employers (Tyson, JB Hunt, Simmons, Walmart, and more than 5 area hospitals). We have a guide book with more exciting things to do! Mountain Biking: 20 minutes to Thunder Chicken and 30 minutes to Slaughter Pen.
Outside, the cottage features a large grassy yard of ¾ an acre ready for pre-tailgate games, a long southern-style front porch with zero gravity chairs, and a smaller private back deck for grilling. Inside, you will find an all new split floor plan with two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, great room, and washer/dryer. Main bedroom features a queen bed with a memory foam mattress. Home was very clean and comfortable, and the host made the process very easy. The area is beautiful - peaceful and quiet. Would definitely stay there again!
Loved the remote location. Sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and an evening cocktail. Watching the lightening bugs reminded me of my childhood visiting my grandparents. Good Memories!
We were traveling from WI wanting to see the Crystal Bridges Museum and saw this Cabin in the woods. We booked it for 4 nights and it did not disappoint. Very clean and Quiet. We loved our stay and plan to return. We will definitely recommend this to anyone traveling that direction.
Property was exactly as described with the ammenities anyone would need for a comfortable stay. The area is nice and quiet and the front porch is a bonus.
Our host was quick to respond with questions I had and she was so helpful.
We really enjoyed this quiet cozy property. It was very clean and the hosts were on point with the communication interaction. If we ever need a place to stay in this area again we will definitely book this property again. Over all experience we’d give it 5 stars!
Serene, beautiful location & very clean. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to arrive to a few snacks. Host did a great job with check in instructions and with prompt replies. The living room furniture is not comfy. It's not furniture where you can kick back and relax. The house had a musty / mildewy smell. When reported to the host that we were struggling with the air quality and my husband couldn't stop coughing, I was told the property did NOT have a musty smell and that it was NW Arkansas allergies and everyone was having to take allergy meds to deal with it.I was disappointed and taken aback at her brusque dismissal. While she offered to come over to see what we were smelling, we had already left for the day & had left the windows open all day which improved it tremendously. After we checked out she shared that her husband found that there looked to be an issue with the water heater. Host could improve in the tone of communication. She did graciously offer a 100 credit since we ended up not bringing our pet and had paid the pet rate.
Such a nice, clean location. Even though you are out in the country, you are still close to all the city offers. Jenell was a great host with excellent communication. This place does not disappoint!
Cottage in a country setting yet fairly close to town. Tree covered hillside out the back door. Amazing front deck with comfortable chairs and ceiling fans. Very relaxing !
Country cottage with with all the extras you didn't know you needed
Very clean & modern place. We loved the large porch where you can sip coffee & count rooster crows. There are great extras like a variety of coffee pods, a few cold drinks, and makeup remover wipes. 10+ minutes to restaurants, but great scenery along the way of goats, cows & horses.
We brought our dogs and really enjoyed visiting the nearby Shaw Family Park with a fenced dog area with agility course, pond, playground, courts, walking track & more.
The property was very nice. Snacks and coffee pods was a nice touch. House was very clean, could have been some more decorations on the walls and such felt kinda plain, but nice. Kitchen drawers and doors could use some knobs, kinda hard to open. It was convient to fayetteville and springdale.

It is a unique, well-kept property, and the owners are very helpful. I have a GPS system on my 2022 Mazda SUV that guided me right to the door. As for being "close to everything", that promise is hard to evaluate because it's so subjective. The owners should consider including a directory of physical addresses and telephone numbers for various places to travel to for gas, meals, etc.
My band members and I had a fantastic stay in Elm Springs at this cottage. Check in process was easy, directions were clear, and the location was just enough “in the country” while still being an easy drive into town for coffee, entertainment, etc. Would definitely stay here again!
It’s a nice little spot that’s close to the airport and close to the towns. Janell was extremely good at communication and was helpful even though I had made some fairly embarrassing mistakes. She gave some very nice recommendations on things to do while we’re in town as well, which was very sweet. Would recommend!
We ended up with car trouble and never made it to the rental. My husband decided we should get our car back to Wisconsin. But every communication I had with Jenell was very pleasant, she was understanding and apologetic about the issues we were having and I was disappointed we did not get to meet face to face.
We absolutely loved our cottage. All the sweet touches made our stay so enjoyable. Janelle and Steve were amazing hosts. The location was so beautiful. We didn't want to leave. You will love this place!
Best location if looking for near to city and quiet place to relax both at a time 🙂
I have stayed here with family and enjoyed our time a lot. One of the best locations near to city but still quiet and feels connected to nature. Host was very quick responsive to any questions during the stay. We liked the porch where we can spend entire day sitting in the nature and listening to birds 🙂
Definitely recommend anyone to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Jenell & Steve Bird
We relocated to Northwest Arkansas in 2015. We love the weather, nature, and people of NWA, and can't wait for you to enjoy it as well. We have a small farm, so don't be surprised to hear a moo or two or see a farm cat passing by.
Why they chose this property
We purchased the cottage next-door to us in 2019 and fully renovated it with our family. Elm Springs is a gem of a rural experience, while being able to easily access everything from Bentonville to Fayetteville in less than a half hour. NWA has too much to offer to be in Bentonville or Fayetteville alone!
What makes this property unique
Enjoy Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, Top Golf in Rogers, or Razorbacks in Fayetteville, then come back home to the peace and quiet of Elm Springs. We have the flexibility to access NWA using I-49 or Hwy 112 (especially important getting to and from Razorback games). We are also 10 minutes to XNA airport.
