## Emplacement
Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine was founded in the early Middle Ages as a dependency of the Abbey of Saint-Denis. The town owes its name to a 7th-century bishop who came to sanctify it. In 1830, a finance company opened a canal port and docks. It was during this period that rapid industrialization began, marked by a highly diverse population. Today, with a population of 40,000, Saint-Ouen is a dynamic town where the tradition of the flea market lives on.
