Close to Beach

This property was right at the public beach access. Very close walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay at Grayton Beach and will return.

Great beach house to enjoy the beach

The property was clean and neat as shown in photos. There were no exquisite furnishings or features, just what you need to have a comfortable stay. This is perfect for a house as close to the beach as it is. I would certainly stay there again.

Amazing location and accurate description

Our trip was a mother/daughter trip (older girls) and the rental was a perfect fit for us. The Beach is incredibly close. You can park and not get into your vehicle the entire week. Next door to Chiringo and Red Bar and tons more Restaurants and shopping are a short tram ride away. The tram picks up in front of the rental. The beds are comfortable and everything was clean and exactly as described. One note: The appliances are very old and loud (dishwasher) and the washing machine must has mold in it because everything stinks if you use it. But it is a great little rental that we enjoy very much.

Couples get away

Great location! It was nice, but a little dirty and run down for the price and strict rules. It needs a better shower curtain, wouldn’t stay where it was supposed and didn’t fit so it made a mess. Not enough washcloths and there was trash in the laundry room. There was an awkward hanging rack in the bedroom that shouldn’t have been there.

How we wish we had known about these issues during your stay, as we are more than happy to address them as part of our commitment to guest satisfaction, but I completely understand why you chose not to report them. Still, we thank you for taking the time to answer our call. Regarding cleanliness, we are committed to providing our guests with a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized space. We apologize for the housekeeping issue. We really wish we knew about it right away because we also want to hold our housekeepers accountable, but I completely understand why you did not report it, and we respect your decision. You mentioned strict rules; thank you for clarifying that over the phone, as we also don’t want strict rules. As you know, there are reasons why rules are in place, just like any other vacation rentals, and I’m glad you understood it, specifically our refund policy. As for the parking, I apologize if the owner asked you a couple of times about it. I believe he was making sure that you won’t have any problem with it, that’s why he’s reminding you about the parking situation, but I will have to talk to him about this as well. On the other hand, we usually put extra washcloths in the cabinets /drawers not sure if you have checked that, but we could have dropped them off if it wasn’t there. For the shower curtain, we will take a look at it and will definitely address it. Regarding the hanging rack, We apologize for the inconvenience. As I mentioned to you over the phone, we provided that because we received feedback from our previous guest that there was insufficient closet space. Still, after speaking with you, I completely understand where you coming from. Again, we appreciate your feedback, and rest assured we are committed to providing quality vacations, and we will look into the issues that you raised to improve our service. Great location!

We enjoyed our stay at Sam’s Place West. The location is fantastic! We could walk to the beach and to local restaurants and general store. The unit was comfortable and quiet. The kitchen is small, but fit our needs just fine. (3 ladies on a girls trip) The drawbacks were: 6pm check in time, shared porch with older furniture that did not afford a view when seated. Another oddity is that the owner Sam seems to be on site most of the time (does he live there?) and one night his friend and young son were hanging out. This gave an odd feeling when you are descending the stairs to go out and encounter a stranger in your space. Otherwise, we had a great trip.

Location Location Location

I have thought long and hard about this property so I’m going to give the good and the bad. Good Location is great Management group was the best ever The owner very good and addressed anything we needed done Close to the beach Very close to bars and restaurants Bad Wasn’t very clean. They came in and cleaned a couch and helped get the musty smell out. We also bought cleaning supplies to deep clean it. Need all new furniture most of it was broken Should be updated paint colors fixtures etc Should be cleaned up outside. When we left we had the place spotless After all this would I stay there again, probably. We aren’t snobs and I don’t normally post this stuff but for the price it should be better kept. Lastly the place is set up for a family with 2 kids not really two couples. Just not enough bathroom space.

Do NOT stay here.

It was the worst 12 hours of our life. Black mold on every vent, terrible musty smell, stained sheets and Rats!! I have pictures of all of it and have sent them over to the management company and VRBO. We vacated the property within 12 hours of arriving. They have still have not refunded our money even though we didn’t stay there. We were there on 8/29/24. We were booked for 5 days and paid in advance per VRBO. They scrubbed the black mold off the vents within hours of us vacating the property. The reason we know this is that my husband left something in the property since we packed up so fast after the rat ran across the couch. When we went back by that evening to get what my husband left, the cleaning crew was there scrubbing the vents. The whole situation was terrible for our family. Never once did the management company help us find another place to stay and they still haven’t refunded our money. We have given them 2 weeks. When they called last week they said they would give us a credit for a future stay, and the reason was because we didn’t give them an opportunity to remove the pest and stay the rest of the time. Are you kidding?? Do not stay here.
