Things we loved:
The locals. Captain Ronald helped us get around, took us to a local baseball game, to town, and to the cays, even when it was super windy. His brother Melvin made us an amazing dinner, and his wife and daughter made us tamales as well because I love Honduran tamales and none could be found in Utila. Trish and Dave were there to answer all of our questions regarding the island and locals, and the house in general. We loved that great snorkeling could be found right outside the door, and we had a dock for nighttime gazing.
Things we noticed:
It was just the two of us, so we enjoyed the upstairs two bedrooms only. If we came down with the whole family, we would probably rent Coral House as well rather than use the downstairs. The first story bedrooms smelled slightly musty, which is actually pretty typical for beach homes.
We used up a bit of electricity trying to cool the bedroom at night. I forgot to mention to Trish and Dave on my way out, but it seems as if the AC units in the bedrooms could use some attention.
All in all, we loved it and can see ourselves coming back. This is definitely a place to unwind and disconnect. If that's not your thing, Utila will probably not be your ideal vacation. But it was great for us.
