An environmentally minded house located at the top of Ajax Peak, overlooking Coral Bay and the BVI, High House offers a quiet home to come to after a long day of fun in the sun. Located above the quaint town of Coral Bay, and an easy five minutes from beautiful beaches, Ajax Peak is the perfect place to be; the tradewinds provide a pleasant cooling breeze all day and the morning sunrise is an incredible sight. The shade in the late afternoon encourages drinks on the deck for very colorful sunsets and incredible views. The gardens have many native plants, flowers, and fruit trees. Often, Hummingbirds and Bananaquits visit the bird feeders, and hawks can be seen soaring above.
Completely off the grid of water and power, the house uses solar energy to power everything inside, and it has done so since 1978. The water is collected via rainwater on the roof, and is stored below the house. Rest assured, there is no shortage of power and water, with a full size refrigerator and freezer, four burner stove, dishwasher, and many other modern appliances. In case of many shady days, a backup generator away from the house will come on and you won’t even hear it. High House allows you to take a Caribbean vacation and relax while making a lighter carbon footprint than at a busy resort.
