About the property

Chalet, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Overlooking a tranquil pond and stream, the two-story bank of windows and deck in the front of this very private house on 7 acres makes you feel as if you are living in a tree house in the forest. It's truly a tranquil escape from every day life.

Two downstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs loft bedroom has its own bath. The living area on the first floor includes a convenient and cozy gas fireplace, flat-screen TV with cable and DVD player, a full kitchen with an island and a dining area. The basement game room has a TV/DVD player, a pool table, boardgames, and a WII. It makes a great playroom. The house includes a hot tub, outdoor fire pit, gas grill, and is equipped with free wi-fi.

This newer construction gives you all the comforts of home, but all the quiet beauty of nature. Sitting on the deck, you can enjoy the sound of the stream and a panorama view of the pond, hemlocks and white pine trees. The area abounds with wildlife, breathtaking foliage in the fall, amazing snowy landscapes in the winter, and lush greenery in the spring and summer. This comfortable house sits on seven acres for a secluded atmosphere, a real sense of getting away from the noise and bustle of civilization.

What makes this chalet unique

This house is adjacent to Childs Park and the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Hike from house to Dingmans Falls and Childs Park waterfalls. Only two miles from the Delaware River, which features canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and of course, great fishing. The 32 mile McDade trail follows the river and is perfect for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing. The nearby town of Milford, PA features fine restaurants and antiquing (see Travel and Leisure piece on Milford).

Guestbook comments from the manager

We just returned from a wonderful week in this log chalet. Everything about the home was wonderful. Such a peaceful setting, it was easy to forget about our busy lives and just relax. Everyone agreed we would love to stay here again. We all enjoyed the hot tub too. Our dog thought we chose this home just for him since he was in swimming at the pond everyday. We also enjoyed having campfires in the evenings. All in all - the perfect week!

Beautiful House but...

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful Houses, nice interior, very cozy. However few small but important on my opinion things need to be changed. 1. Outside grill is very old and small not working properly. 2. You cannot lock the Bathroom door the lock is just broken, so any one can get inside while you...taking shower))) same problem with bedroom doors. Overall great house at great location. Many thx to the owner.

Spacious, well kept, comfortable, tasteful, clean house with nature on the doorstep.

  • 5 of 5

We (5 of us) enjoyed our stay at Tom's chalet. We had my 93- year old father and my 1.5 year old grandson with us. The house proved comfortable for everyone. A spacious downstairs living area had room for some to read, others to cook, play, run around or watch tv. Our elder enjoyed walking in the forrest without having to travel far for it and playing pool or chess in the well equipped basement game room. For me it was important that the house was subtly and tastefully decorated.

Communication with Tom was easy and to the point. When we had a little glitch with the Internet, we emailed Tom and he sorted it out over the phone in several minutes.

Highly recommend.

Hope to return one day.

Beautiful location, very well equipped house, gracious & accessible host

  • 5 of 5

We were five men, extending over three generations, joining in a new experience for us. Of course, the people-sharing-part of the weekend was our focus. However, the house and the awesome trails (easy to medium) were the perfect complement to a perfect weekend.

The hot tub, on a brisk night added the right spirit, as an after dinner event. Nice pool table, well equipped kitchen, three queen beds plus two sofas that can each accommodate a person were all features that contributed to all of leaving with smiles on our faces but sad to go.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This is our 6th year of staying at this chalet. Secluded, quiet, overall great place! The owner Tom is a gentleman, last year the hot tub had an issue, he had a repairman there fixing it within an hour. Great firepit. Hope to book a stay this summer. Highly recommend.
