Coastal Getaway Beach House

Fort Pierce / Hutchinson Island South is one of the last areas of the South Florida coastal area to be built up. It is a quiet and laid back area. No commercial businesses are allowed on the island. This ranch style house is in walking distance to the beaches and the restaurant area of Fort Pierce inlet. Fort Pierce is known as a fishing village. If you are looking for a true getaway this is the perfect spot! The house is located less than 2 hours from Orlando Florida and Cape Canaveral.

This is a great place to stay. The home is very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable, extended stay. The only thing we had to do was go to the grocery store. The beds are fairly comfortable and it is in a quiet neighborhood. Our host was very quick about answering any questions. We would stay here again if we decide to vacation in the same area.

Great Location and plenty of room!

This was a very cute and clean home in the heart of Hutchison Island. Walking distance to beaches and restaurants. The home had everything we needed for cooking at home and chairs, umbrellas, etc for the beach! They even had 2 bicycles in the garage we could use to ride around the island. We would definitely book here again!

Wonderful stay on Hutchinson Island. Property was exactly as advertised. Very clean. Quiet, friendly neighborhood. We enjoyed having our dog with us. Beaches and restaurants were within a 10 min walk.

Our children and grandchildren stayed here while in Ft Pierce for our 50th anniversary celebration. It was absolutely perfect for us! Lovely House with Great Neighbors

The house was everything we expected and more. Clean, quiet and inviting. We spend every morning and evening in the screened in back porch. Nice walk to the causeway, jetty or restaurants. Neighbors were extremely friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was comfortable, clean and at the end of a cul de sac. This che ked a lot of boxes for us. The grill in the garage was clean and in good working order. The home itself was clean and inviting. The owner was accessible when we had question. Amazing stay. We will return.

Nice cozy home

The house was exactly as advertised. Clean, well-decorated, and very comfortable beds. It was great to have beach towels, a cooler and beach chairs to borrow. Even a bike (although we didn’t have time to use). Easy walk to jetty to fish off of, relax on the many benches there, enjoy the great beach and restaurants. I loved coffee and yoga on the lanai in the mornings!

Very clean but needs a little attention

The house was clean and comfortable and in a great neighborhood near the inlet and beaches. It's not very big but we didn't spend much time there so that was of no concern. One big concern for us was the sliding glass door to the back patio was put in backwards - with the lock on the OUTSIDE - and thus could not be secured. There was no way to lock it. Also - the screens in the back porch were torn up and just flapping. The owner said the damage was from the hurricanes - which seems likely - but they also said they had a hard time getting them fixed which is baloney because the hurricanes were many months ago and installing new screening is not rocket science. We would, nonetheless, rent here again becuase it was clean.

Rat, Ants, Roaches, Palmetto bugs, host slow to respond

Upon arrival there was an overwhelming urine smell which I immediately notified the host since I brought 2 dogs. Later I would be accused of them ruining all the rugs in the house even though they were kenneled at all times when my daughter and i weren’t at home. The host said the yard was fully fenced, it was not for 4 of the 6 weeks I stayed there. The microwave quit working and it was never fixed for the remainder of the stay. Not to mention the awful dealings with the rat, trail of sugar ants, roaches and palmetto bugs. Just gross. Could not wait to get out of there. Lastly it would take 4-7 days for the host to respond for the above situations. Oh and I gave her over a months notice that I would be leaving the rental 3 weeks early , plenty of time to re-list:rent it and she would only refund me one week. After it took her more than 10 days to figure out how to update the reservation.
