Firefly Cottage at Baw Beese Lake Hillsdale Michigan

Lake front home on Baw Beese Lake.
3 Bedroom, 1 and a half baths.
The house is on the quiet east end of Baw Beese Lake, called Third Lake.
Excellent sunset views!
Baw Beese Lake is a great paddling lake with access to 4th Lake and Boot Lake. Just paddle under Hudson Ave. ( Route 99).
45 feet of seawalled lake front.
Seawall area is shallow enough for the kids to safely play. Approximately 2 feet deep at the seawall.
Flat yard for yard games.
Lake side firepit, wood provided.
Kayaks for your use: 1 double seat, 3 single seat, 2 kid sized, a 3 seat canoe, and 3 standup paddle boards. Paddles and life jackets, provided for your use. This is a Michigan DNR lake. State laws apply. Life jackets required when paddling. Kayaks and SUPs not available after mid November. Available again as Spring weather allows.
A well stocked kitchen for meal preparation. A variety of coffee pods and teas to get your day started. No ground coffee is supplied.
Primary bedroom has a home office space, with high speed wifi.

Rainy days aren't boring here. We have many board games, ping-pong, a dart board, and a variety of books for your use.
ROKU TV: Watch shows through your favorite apps.
Central air for a cool nights sleep, after a hot summer day.
3 season room is the main dining area with seating for 6 to 8.
Parking available for 4 vehicles.

Area attractions:
SANDY BEACH PARK. Beach, playground, volleyball, basketball and a concession stand. It's is a short drive around the lake. $5 a car load. Or walk the Baw Beese trail to get there.
OWENS MEMORIAL PARK, multiple playgrounds, picnic areas, fishing, and a walking trail
DISK GOLF: 9 hole course at Owens Memorial Park.
BAW BEESE TRAIL/ North Country Trail , is 5 houses away at the end of the street.
Restaurants, brewpubs, coffee shops, ice cream, and a variety of shopping located in charming Hillsdale.
HILLSDALE COLLEGE
SILO FUN PARK, is 7 miles away. They have gocarts, mini golf, and an arcade.
WHITE OAKS public golf course is 6 miles away.

This is a 1100 squre foot cottage. 8 people recommended maximum, but 9 is possible. A 5th twin matress is available for on the floor.

No pets of any type allowed.

Minimum age 25 to rent.

*Whole house generator in use. It will automatically switch on and off during a power outage.
**Please note: there is parking available for up to 4 vehicles. It's tight parking, but doable.
No parking is allowed on the grass, or along the edge of the road , it is a narrow road. **
***3 Security cameras are in use, located on the front and rear of house. Not monitored during your stay. No interior cameras.***
****Use of kayaks, SUP, floats, life jackets, dock, blue kayak launch pad, and any items provided on property , is at you own risk. ****
*****We recommend purchasing 3rd party travel insurance for your financial protection if cancelation is needed*****

Baw Beese Lake is a Michigan DNR lake, and as such, all Michigan and DNR regulations and laws regarding lake usage must be adhered to.

By leasing Firefly Cottage through any app, website, or direct booking, you are legally bound to this agreement. This agreement shall remain in effect for the duration of the agreed-upon rental period.

Great place, they really had a lot for families to do, loved the kayaks

Place was clean, lots of games to play inside and outside, coffee bar was nice to have, kayaks were great and they had blow up floats to use, plenty of dishes to use, loved the house, kids and older adults all had a great time, also the beds were very comfortable, would stay again and recommend

Spectacular views and fun lakeside amenities!

This home is comfortable and well-equipped for a lakeside vacation. Games, picture windows of the lake, a sunroom, grill, kayaks, good beds and cushy seating make for a very relaxing stay. The hosts are GREAT and we'll be back, for sure!

Beautiful cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay! Firefly Cottage was clean, well-stocked, and spacious. The owners thought of everything! The kids had a great time playing in the lake and the screened in porch was perfect for relaxing in the evenings. We would love to return next year!

Amazing property.

What a wonderful experience. We absolutely loved the Firefly! Clean and cozy. They have this cottage stocked with everything you'll need and then some. Can't say enough good things about our stay!

Gorgeous lake views

This was my second stay in this lovely lake house and the property is even more comfortable with an added half bath in the master bedroom. This is a thoughtfully managed, well furnished and very lovely stay for a family or two couples with kids. Games, kayaks, ping pong table, sunroom, grill, beach towels, dock, everything you need for a super fun, relaxing week on the lake. There were also many pretty birds to watch!

Comfy and cozy. Perfect for our family.

We enjoyed Firefly Cottage so much. It was perfectly suited for our family of six. Kayaks and fire pit were enjoyed as well as every inch of the house. The kitchen is well stocked and we were able to sit on the sunporch for all of our meals, which was so nice, because all that was called outside all the windows and the sunshine coming in made it feel so cozy. Scott was a great host and well, and was very accommodating. We will definitely be booking an anything I need any comments you want again on our next visit to Hillsdale!

WOW! Lake life is where it's at!

We enjoyed our visit to Bay Beese Lake so much!! Every possible detail was thought out! We didn't want for anything. From the TALL to the small, everyone had something to do during our stay. Daily kayaking was thoroughly enjoyed! The quiet at night was very peaceful. Thank you for a great stay! We can't wait until next summer! Cheers!

Amazing and relaxing!

The Firefly Cottage was perfect for my family to get away for a few days for some good family quality time! The cottage itself was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need, including so many games for us! The kayaks and stand up paddle board were huge hits too! The furnishings were more than adequate! We had plenty of comfortable beds and space for everyone! We did a lot of fishing which was great right off the dock or sea wall! Thank you Scott and Beth for sharing your beautiful property!

Wonderful Baw Beese Stay

We had a wonderful week at Firefly Cottage! There were plenty of indoor and outdoor games that we enjoyed (lawn darts and corn hole were a hit). The kayaks and stand-up paddle were fun to use around the lake. My kids loved playing with the inflatables in the lake on hot afternoons. Furniture and beds were comfy, and the porch was a great place to read and look out over the lake. We had a couple of fires in the firepit while we were there, and my kids enjoyed roasting hot dogs and eating s'mores. The owners were easy to communicate with and provided lots of amenities for our stay. We highly recommend spending time at Firefly Cottage!

Big Small House

We rented this Vrbo for my parents and adult siblings to all stay in for a family event. Clean and well stocked! Though the house is relatively small for how many it sleeps, there is extra space tucked away, such as in the three-seasons room and large utility room which helped for storing coats/shoes/luggage/extra food and kept the living spaces clear. We has other extended relatives at the house spending the days with us, and we were all able to comfortably enjoy ourselves. The hosts are communicative and helpful! I recommend this property.

Our families took a trip together 13 years ago and decided to recreate the memory. The cottage was very nice has EVERYTHING you could need and the owners were very helpful and kind. The lake is pretty weedy and shallow in places so boating was tricky till we learned the lake better. All in all we had a great time and our adult kids and teens kayaked, played games, walked the trail to the Basketball/volleyball courts. We also were glad for the party store and farmers stand just half mile down to M-99. Other than the humidity and rain here and there we had a great stay!

Nice, peaceful and well stocked lake cottage

We needed a few days away to relax and get away from the stress of life and this was the perfect place to do it. My son backed out of wanting to come with us so quite a lot of the games and kid-friendly items went unused but WOW they were fully stocked on plenty of things to do there! I'm pretty sure if you had kids and had to try to survive the apocalypse that you'd be in great shape here! We enjoyed early evening kayak (provided) trips that were picturesque and peaceful. We played frisbee golf (newbees) a couple of times at the nearby park and just enjoyed not having to deal with regular life stuff. Thanks for sharing your place!

FireFly cottage

We had an amazing time at this property. It was a cute cottage and very clean, plenty of sleeping space. It had everything you could possibly need, and then some. The owners are so thoughtful, they really went above and beyond to make sure you had everything you might possibly need. The lake is very nice and the water is clear, it’s shallow which is nice for younger kids. We had so much fun on the kayaks, and there were plenty for everyone. There are lots of games that we enjoyed playing, especially cornhole and ping pong. Theres a great ice cream place down the road and Silos fun center where you can go kart and putt putt. Check in and check out were super easy. I can’t say enough good things about the Firefly Cottage, we are so grateful to have spent the week there relaxing and making memories.

Fun stay

My family (2 adults, 3 kids- 15,10&9) loved staying at this property. Quiet lake with plenty to do. We barely left the property except to walk/bike down the trail which takes you to the beach, multiple playgrounds or in to town. Our family favorite was the kayaks provided and we used them multiple times a day. The lake is shallow enough at the shore for kids to swim and floaties were also provided. The house was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely return again!
