About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

Let's start out with two words: 'Indoor Pool'. Yes, this beautiful home has an indoor pool. Imagine sled riding on the front lawn of this 20 acre property and then coming inside for a dip in the pool while looking over the beautiful snow covered mountains of Central Pennsylvania. Or imagine hiking the trails at Worlds End State Park and then coming back to a relaxing soak in the 10 person Jacuzzi hot tub. If that doesn't sound like your idea of a 'staycation', how about fishing in our pond or hunting on nearby state gamelands and then coming 'home' to shoot some pool with your buddies? However you like to spend your time, you can do it at the Brown House.

Located at the intersection of Route 220N and Route 154N in Laporte, PA, this home is less than 4 hours from NYC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. It is within one hour of Elmira and Williamsport, and within two hours of Harrisburg or Altoona.

Why travel far for a weekend get-a-way or week with friends and/or family when you can have a home to yourself where you can enjoy swimming, camping, hunting, and/or hiking at Worlds End State Park or just stay at this self contained miniresort and relax with your loved ones?

In 2010, the owners joined the Lake Mokoma Association. For an additional fee, the renters may go to the lake (less than a one minute drive) and enjoy the beach and all its amenities. Ask Patsy at Robin Real Estate when inquiring about the property!

About The Owner

There is too much fun to be had at the Brown House. Please come and enjoy our home as much as we do. It is truly an escape from the everyday rat race and a place to get away and relax with family and friends. Please treat our home as you would your own so you can come back over and over to get revitalized and renewed as we do every year. One of our favorite things to do in the winter is to go ice skating on New Years Day and then swimming with the cousins for the rest of the evening. Grandma and Pop Pop sit in front of the fire while all the big kids make hot sausage sandwiches and fresh baked cookies. In the summer we hike the Loyalsock Trail at Worlds End, come back and the kids swim while we grill up some hotdogs. After everyone is in their pajamas, outside for smores and campfire songs. Rain or shine, this is a guaranteed great 'staycation'!! This is a picture of us at the Vista Outlook at Worlds End State Park. How Beautiful!

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose World

We love this area of Pennsylvania because it is definitely a 'get-a-way' yet close to civilization if you need to get back to the real world quickly. We love having the indoor pool because Pennsylvania is beautiful all year round but only has swimming weather for about 4 months a year. The indoor pool provides swimming all year long. Laporte is a quaint town with a wonderful general store that provides us with everything that we may need. You can be as relaxed at this house or as busy as you want. It is your choice! Basically it is just beautiful!!

What makes this house unique

The indoor pool is definitely the most unique benefit. Also the hiking and the scenery is some of the most beautiful scenery you will find in the US. This property has so much to offer from family reunions to book writing retreats to honeymoons. Since we recently joined the Lake Mokoma Association in 2010, we have been enjoying the beach and the hiking trails around the lake. It is only a one minute drive from the house. We love this area. Anyone and everyone has fun here!

I'll Be Back!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at "The Brown House"! This was not the first time we had stayed there, and I was happy to see the updated pool area. The jacuzzi was also new,as was the washer/dryer. The addition of extra bedrooms in the lower level makes it great for larger families. We really enjoyed just sitting around reading and playing games, but we also went out to eat quite a bit. There are many fun places to eat in the area. We will be back!

Almost don't want to tell everyone about it...

...because this place is so awesome, I want to keep it a secret for ourselves!! Been here two times this year. First time for my husbands 40th bday with a few couples ~ we just knew we had to go back with the kids. Awesome, amazing, and perfection! We had a wonderful time both times and this house has everything a family could ever need or want for a getaway. Thanks so much to the owners for sharing your beautiful home. And Patsy at Robin Real Estate is as sweet as sugar. Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful experience and we will see you again NEXT YEAR!!!

This home has it all !!! We didnt want to come home. If you like to go on vacation and just relax and do nothing except spend time with friends and family this is the place to go. The master king was extremley comfy with the fresh mountain air its hard to get out of bed in the morning. If you want to get out the creek that runs along Rt. 154, right in front of the house, is beautiful. There are many places to pull over and cool off in the creek or follow it down to the swiming hole at the state park. The many decks off the house are great for just enjoying the outdoors and having great conversations and laughs with loved ones. This was truly the best vacation rental we have ever had the privledge to stay in. Thanks to Robins Releaste for all their help, Pasty was a pleasure to deal with.
