The property and the accommodations were great. This getaway was an alternative to a Bahamas trip that was cancelled due to COVID-19 and was enjoyed by all. There was a lot to do and the scenery in the area is beautiful! You don't really need to leave the property but there are so many hikes close by that we had to take advantage of the surrounding area as well.
Nice set up for a family with teenagers and a dog
Travelled with our two kids and their best friends. The cabin set up was nice, because our kids each shared a cabin with their friend giving everyone the space they wanted. The property and cabins were clean, well maintained and well stocked, and we loved having the fenced yard so our dog could roam around. The owner warned us ahead of time about some construction in the neighborhood, which was appreciated, and the noise actually ended up being really minimal. Only downside was that the pool was "shocked" the day we arrived. It was cloudy and the chlorine really burned the eyes and sinuses. A note left for us said it would clear by the evening, but unfortunately it remained cloudy and very heavily chlorinated for the first two days of our stay. This was a let-down because the pool was the thing the kids were most looking forward to and the weather was well into the 90s during our visit. I expect this is only a problem if you're unlucky enough to arrive on a day the pool has been shocked, so I imagine most renters wouldn't have this problem. We would certainly be happy to rent this property again, but I would ask the owner about the pool shocking schedule before booking again.
Another great start to the summer at this amazing property.
I will definitely be booking our stay here again. It was like we had our own little resort. Swimming pool was a hit with the kids. We had such a nice peaceful getaway.
The property is very well maintained with plenty of space to spread out. We loved playing in the warm pool and soaking in the hot tub. With 2 adults and 3 kids, we had plenty of sleeping space. The kitchen is well-equipped. We had an issue with our check-in process but the owner was very responsive and made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back!
Leavenworth truly offers something for everyone. For outdoor enthusiasts there is hiking, biking, river rafting, skiing, golf and snowshoeing. For those looking to relax there is the beautiful scenery and fresh air, short strolls to coffee, wine tasting, dining, and antiquing.
My favorite things within walking distance are:
-horseback riding (sleigh rides in winter)
-groomed snowshoe/cross country trails
-O'Grady's Pantry - espresso/deli at Sleeping Lady Resort
-the Fish Hatchery with nature trails
My favorite things in town (just 2 miles):
-wine tasting and antiquing at Bergdorf Cellars
-King Ludwig's German food and music on Fri and Sat (take kids!)
-South (fresh Latin American food)

Why Janice Wakefield chose Leavenworth
Leavenworth is great for our family since it's just over two hours from Seattle. It's scenic, usually sunny and offers activities for just about everybody.
What makes this Cabin unique
I enjoy the mountain views, sounds of the neighbors' neighing horses, and walking to Sleeping Lady Resort for a freshly-baked scone and latte.
