Great Experience at the Black Pearl!
We had a great stay at this property. The house is exceptional, the description and photos are totally accurate. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the comfort, and the feeling of coziness without being cramped. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with high quality cookware. The neighborhood is super quiet. There were 2 bikes already there that we used, and I rented a third from Mr Beach Rental (highly recommend them!) They delivered the extra bike and picked it up the morning we left. We rode bikes around the neighborhood every day, sometimes twice a day. The beach is just down the street and we walked there. Grocery stores and great restaurants are very close. Our restaurant picks were The Lazy Turtle, Tranquil Harbor, Swains, and Shagger Jack’s (in that order). The host quickly responded to communication, was very helpful when I asked for food/activity recommendations, and was just very pleasant to deal with. Oak Island is beautiful and clean, with many things to see and do. Take the ferry to Southport and Bald Head Island. Visit Oak Island Lighthouse. Walk out on the pier. The sunsets on the beach are amazing! The Black Pearl is a lot of bang for the buck, and we would rent again.
