Searching for the ultimate retreat for a coastal getaway with your family, friends, and furry pals? Look no further than Sun and Waves — a splendid pet-friendly 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom vacation home on Oak Island! It's conveniently nestled between the beach and Montgomery Slough, giving you the best of both worlds: ocean and marsh views! Highlights include a private pool, multiple balconies, two massive primary suites (both with extra trundle daybeds), and so much more. Plus, it's a short walk to the beach and less than 2 miles from the Ocean Crest Pier, where you'll find oceanfront restaurants and incredible fishing.

Enjoy your morning coffee or the famous sunsets from one of the two oceanside balconies with your furry family members! The lower balcony boasts a bench swing and multiple chairs; it even has a gate to keep the doggies from going to the beach without you. The upper balcony offers spectacular ocean views and has a dining table perfect for playing games or eating together! Heading to the ground level, you'll find the spacious private pool with wide steps and various multi-level spots for sitting and lounging partially underwater. There's ample seating in this fenced-in area with two tables and multiple lounger chairs to relax in the sun or watch the stars together at night. And when it's time for some beach waves, all you need are your leashes! Beach chairs and a wagon are provided to make the quick walk to the shore a breeze.

Inside, you'll be greeted into the calming yet elegant living space with coastal vibes and cozy couches to kick your feet up after a long day of fun in the sun! Turn on the tropical-weave ceiling fan for an interior breeze, and watch your favorite shows or movies on the flatscreen TV. The galley-style kitchen boasts granite countertops, a large double sink, stainless steel appliances, and an abundance of luxurious cabinetry. Have a master griller in your group? There's even a gas grill on the back balcony to prepare your freshly caught seafood and favorite recipes! When it's time to gather around for meals, you'll find a refined dining table with seating for up to 8 and a bar top area that seats up to 3. If you prefer dining outside, there are numerous options — including the bistro dining set on the back balcony, where you can overlook the marsh and pool.

The downstairs primary bedroom suite is enormous! It features a king-size bed, a flatscreen TV, and an ensuite bathroom with dual vanity, ample storage space, and a tub/shower combination. You'll also find an attached sunroom with a twin daybed with a twin trundle that can be closed off with a sliding door. The upstairs primary suite is just as extensive and has a matching setup — king-size bed, ensuite with tub/shower combination, and bonus sunroom with a twin daybed with a twin trundle. The third bedroom is located on the top floor and is great for the younger travelers in your group with themed comforters and 2 sets of bunk beds (one is a twin over twin, and the other is a double over double). It also has an ensuite bathroom featuring an extended vanity and a walk-in corner shower.

Wonderful Beach Vacation

Our family loved this beach house! Plenty of room for 6 adults 2 children and our dogs. Close to the beach and the pool was great! The views from the decks were lovely. Would definitely stay again!

Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay! The house and pool are very nice and the location is perfect. We especially enjoyed the cool ocean breeze and views from the deck every day! Just one issue- none of the outdoor power outlets work. So if you need to charge a golf cart or just want to plug in your computer and work outside, it’s not possible.

Disappointed

The pool heater did not work, which we paid for. The outdoor shower did not work and the grill was so rusty you couldn’t use it. Very disappointing as the heated pool was the main reason for choosing this home. We would not stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.

Beach trip with Hurricane

Despite hurricane Debby, we had a great stay. House is a great location, stood up to weather well and the pool was key. We had a few issues with a broken drawer and toilet flushing mechanism but these were addressed in a timely manner by Salt and Sand handyman. Small criticisms include a keyless entry system that did not work the whole week and was not fixed, some lack of equipment in the kitchen (pots/pans, serving ware, bowls etc), and significant warping of doors to the point that 10yo kids got stuck on second and third floor balconies. Overall though, the location, pool, house layout and ease of use was wonderful. It weathered the storm amazingly and even has a generator which put us all at ease though we didn't need to use it. Thanks for the great Vacay, we look forward to coming again!
