About Liz or Phil

We are a retired professional couple who moved to FishHook Lake 21 years ago to open a B&B on our property. We had a great time and were featured on the cover of 'Lakes Alive' magazine and in many newspaper articles. When our grandchildren were born we decided to close the B&B and spend more time with family. Now 16 years after we closed the B&B we are offering the private, king sized suite as a room rental only so others can share in the beauty and peace of the Northwoods.

Liz or Phil purchased this Lodge in 1996

Why Liz or Phil chose Todd

The Eagles' Nest suite gives visitors an opportunity to experience the Northwoods at it's best. It is private, quiet and restful. Because of the closing of so many of the resorts in the area we recognized that it's difficult for visitors to find a room on a lake that is close to golfing, biking, kayaking and swimming.

What makes this Lodge unique

When staying in the Eagles' Nest our guests are able to listen to the loons, watch the eagles and other birds. Guests may prepare their morning coffee and enjoy sitting on the private balcony. If they like biking, golfing, kayaking or swimming it is readily available. The suite also offers WiFi, cable flatscreen TV, a hairdryer, a small refrigerator , Keurig coffee maker and microwave. Adirondack chairs are on your private deck or down by the lake for guests to sit and relax and watch the sunset!

                                                                      Cathryn B.

Liz and Phil are wonderful hosts who maintain an exceptionally clean, spacious, and pleasing space. It's easy to feel at home here. An extra touch was the flowers cut from Liz's beautiful gardens.

The west-facing view made for great sunset watching - just spectacular through the trees and over the lake! Then there is falling asleep and waking up to the call of the loons.

For me, the quiet lakeside setting and being minutes from town is an ideal combination.

Do plan on having meals out or bringing in. There is a coffee maker, small microwave, and refrigerator as well as a table for eating. Dishes are also available, but washing up must be done in the second bathroom.

                                                                      Wonderful, relaxing, amazing views.

Liz and Phil are very accommodating, have a beautiful property, and are great to visit with. We really enjoy coming here and will return again!

Fabulous, peaceful getaway on the lake

We booked Wildwood to celebrate a decade birthday for my now fiancé (he proposed while we were there on the water). Wildwood is the most tastefully decorated, comfortable, peaceful VRBO rental we have reserved to date. We loved parking our car and taking off in any direction on the nice, paved bike paths. Food in this area surprised us in it's high quality. Everyone we met was so friendly. The loons calling morning and night was so wonderful to hear. The owners were such a pleasure to meet and we plan to be back the same time next year. We will tell everyone about Wildwood!!

View the start of the Mississippi at Itasca State Park, come to Park Rapids for 'Logging Days', 'Crazy Days', the September beautiful fall colors, biking the Heartland trail, golfing at our many excellent courses, enjoying wonderful restaurants; or just relaxing by the lake and watching the eagles and the loons. There are no crowds here; just the wind, the lapping of the lake, the sound of the birds and peace and quiet. There are so many activities which change weekly in this busy lake town and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
