This authentic Fourth Lake cottage is filled with historic Adirondack charm. Home showcases quintessential Adirondack style kitchen and bathrooms built by local artists with trees from the property. There are 1.5 wooded acres to explore and a 60 foot walk to the stairs to a beautiful 200 degree lake view. We offer our own local Adirondack fishing and hiking guide to troubleshoot your stay, find activities and answer questions about the Adirondacks, Old Forge or Inlet. Property borders NYS Snowmobile, Mountain bike, and hiking trails so you can walk or ride the trails in just a matter of seconds. Use of two stall garage for extra safety for your belongings if needed. Drive exactly 6 minutes to Old Forge or 4 minutes to Inlet. Also 0.10 of a mile to Great Pines, 1 mile to Daikers, and 2 miles to Bald Mountain. Our location offers an authentic Adirondack experience and provides the true quiet, private, and serene family experience only the Adirondack mountains can offer. (Please review house rules and rental agreement)

I am a lifelong traveler and explorer of the Adirondacks. Originally as an Environmental Scientist researching the forest and lakes, than as a former musher of an Alaskan Malamute Sled dog team, and Adirondack hiking and fishing guide. The Adirondacks are a place where if you spent a lifetime inside its region, you still would not see all it has to offer. It is a place which I call home and hope it brings a special feeling to your during your stay.

Why they chose this property

Old Forge is the quintessential Adirondack village with a historic past and unique actives everywhere. There is a main street to walk up and down for shopping, site seeing, and restaurants. It boasts a full amusement and water park, ski resort, two golf courses (one played by PGA pros such as Jack Nickalus, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino), a movie theater and a museum of art. There are snowmobile, mountain bike, hiking, walking, and running trails in every direction, including one step out the front door, along with a public beach in Town. Old Forge is truly a unique and incredible all in one location for your Adirondack experience.

What makes this property unique

The benefits our location is an incredible 200 degree expansive mountain and lake view. You could also inquire about booking a separate private hike, day of fishing (seasonally dependent), or lake cruise in our 23 foot 300 hp Glastron Runabout. Two golf courses, ski resort, and state snowmobile, mountain biking, hiking , and running trails between 1 and 15 minutes away in either direction from the house. Additionally, canoeing can be done at our lakefront or you can drive 5-10 minutes to use one of the many rivers or ponds to launch nearby. Also, we less than 1 minute from Great Pines Restaurant and Tavern, Daikers pub, or Mountain Inn Steakhouse.
