A newly renovated, fully equipped fitness center with day rates operates across the street to accommodate travelers. The Enchanted Forest Water Safari is literally in the back yard and is a two minute walk to the front entrance offering visitors the more water rides than any other theme park in New York State.
For the autumn and winter enthusiasts, downhill skiing and snowboarding and many mountain hiking traills are within a ten minute ride from the house. McCauley Mountain offers four seasons of scenic trails and winter activities with access to its peak via a classic chair lift. McCauley Mountain is a short trip through the village and its peak can be seen from the top of the street. Bald Mountain is a quick ten minute car ride north and offers breathtaking views atop the firetower at its peak with a family friendly trail leading the way. Black Bear and Rocky Point Mountains offer more challenging hiking trails for the Adirondack Park adventurer.
The house can easily accommodate up to eight visitors. The two bedrooms upstairs have either a queen sized bed or has bunk beds with an additional twin size bed. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed. Two very comfortable futons are available in the living room and fold out to full size beds for extra sleeping arrangements. Why they chose this property
This property has been in my family for generations. It is ideally located for any family or group wanting to do a little of everything the Adirondacks has to offer for every season!
The property is adjacent to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari amusement park and is a short three minute walk to the front entrance of the park for the perfect summer family day. Heading less than half a mile up the street, renters can stop at the Pied Piper for ice cream or a quick lunch or dinner or head to Old Forge Beach for a day of swimming and sun. Heading down the street a quarter of a mile, the recreation center highlights festivals and shows throughout the year. The playground, soccer fields, and an outdoor basketball court provide great opportunities for free family fun any time of day. About a mile up the street, there is an easy access point for canoeing and kayaking on the Moose River as well as bike trails.
All of the attractions, shops, and restaurants of Old Forge are a short walk or car ride away from the property.
For the fall traveler, the house offers a cozy return from a day of hiking and taking in the breathtaking scenery of the fall leaves on one of the Old Forge area's many mountain trails.
In the winter, the house is perfect base camp for the avid snowmobiler. The property is located directly on the snowmobile trail and offers plenty of parking for multiple snow mobile trailers.
