We often are asked, “What is Brookledge”? Great question! We are not a 5 star luxury hotel, we are a 5 tree happy to be nature getaway. If you are looking for 1,000 count sheets, concierge and fine china, Brookledge is not it. If you are looking for stars in the sky, trees and a comfy bed, that is us!
Here are some things to expect
Brookledge was once a Girls Camp called Girls Inc. We still have many buildings, pavilions, bath houses and trails from the original camp.
When you step outside, you will most likely see chipmunks scurrying from tree to tree. They were here first, but they pay rent in acorns.
You may get a sudden urge to walk on the trails. It happens, I don’t know why!?!? Just follow the orange squirrel trail markers.
Why would you ever want to come here? That is an easy question to answer.
You can look up at night and see millions of stars and fireflies in the field.
When you take that walk, you will see deer tracks and hear the sound of the creek.
The pond lovingly called the Ice Bucket will beckon you to skip rocks or possibly be brave enough to jump in.
Swimming or an epic game of cornhole. Loser does the dishes!
The floating dock holds on tightly to a green canoe.
Time with family and friends around a campfire with S’mores of course!
Visit our library and enjoy a book in our hammocks.
If you are the type of person that loves flannel shirts, thinks that music with a guitar solo is a must and can’t walk past a dog without petting it then Brookledge is your place. We hope that you will not be a renter, but our guest. Pull up a chair, grab a root beer and join us. Welcome to Brookledge my friend!

About the host
Hosted by Helen

We are the Christopher Family. Many years ago we attended a wedding here that was once known as Camp Brookledge. It was no longer a Girls Camp and was privately owned. At the time I was a teacher and my husband a mechanic. While attending the wedding, we fell in love with how peaceful and pretty Brookledge was.
Fast forward many years later, Camp Brookledge was under contract to become an RV park. Lucky for us the deal fell through and we purchased the property in 2021. We worked nights and weekends to restore the property. We have made many changes to the property and learned a lot of the history. We are doing our best to restore it.
I am no longer a teacher and work at Brookledge (we dropped camp) full time. We host events such as weddings and private functions all while living in what was once the nurse's office.
If you want a tour of the grounds or learn about the history dating back to the 1800s, I would be happy to do so. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Why they chose this property
Welcome to Crook Brook Cabin. This little cabin has been a dream in the making. This log cabin reminded me of a Lincoln Log Cabin I would have built as a child and I loved it. I hope you do as well.
Crook Brook Cabin is nestled on 60 acres. This property was once a Girls Camp from 1940 to 2009. The pond in front of the cabin, was nicknamed the Ice Bucket. It is spring fed and a little on the chilly side. The bath houses are original to the Girls Camp as well as the pavilions and Lodge. Some buildings have been moved such as Climbing Rock Cabin and many have been updated.
In your cabin you will find unique touches and vintage pieces. The 70s and 80s decor is to pay homage to when the camp was at its peak. The VHS tapes are my personal favorite. The bunk bed was handmade by a local woodworker. Many of the furnishings and dishes are from local antique stores. Everything you see that was constructed is local. We believe in supporting local businesses and we thank you for supporting our small business.
