Just Imagine Ship’s Quarters at Moss Landing:
Shiver Me Timbers, Captain…..am I on a ship or in a cabin? It’s time to set sail for your next Ocean Adventure! This beautiful gem of a log cabin was completed in 2009 with great care by its owners. Lovingly dubbed “Ship’s Quarters at Moss Landing,” it offers a unique, romantic, restful get away. Captain Jack Sparrow never had it so good!
From stem to stern, this rustic but elegant log cabin is reminiscent of being inside a great old wooden ship of yore. Step inside and you’ll think you’ve embarked on an ocean voyage as you settle into quarters fit for the Captain and his lady.
Warm, golden walls reflect the flames from the fireplace. Elegant nautical artwork enchants you from the moment you walk in. Sink into the leather sofa with a glass of your favorite beverage, pop a CD into the stereo, put your feet up, and breathe a sigh of relaxation as your adventure begins. The downstairs television is complete with cablevision and a player for CDs.
Ships Quarters at Moss Landing offers everything your “great escape” requires right here at your fingertips. Sleeping arrangements include the comfort of a queen-size bed in the Captain’s Quarters, a full-size bed in the Crew’s Quarters, and a futon upstairs in the Crow’s Nest, a lovely loft that provides an extra living area complete with its own TV/DVD/VCR combination unit. A collection of DVDs, music and books is included for your use.
When it’s time to dine, you have a complete Galley at your disposal. Everything you need to cook your favorite seafaring food is right here, from baking sheets to serving dishes to wine glasses. Our Galley is complete with a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, full propane range, and under-counter refrigerator.
After dessert, step right outside onto your deck, and you’ll really feel like you’re on the open sea as you soak away your cares in your own private hot tub. Should you be so inclined, there are non-breakable wine glasses for you to sip from as you enjoy the beautiful skies of Ocean Shores. You’re close enough to the ocean to hear the waves crashing onto shore, smell the salt in the air, and feel the ocean breeze.
Your pets (up to 2 adult dogs) are welcome at Moss Landing for a small pet fee of $15. We have a lovely yellow lab named Juneau, and we’d never want to leave her out when we go on vacation, so we have made our cabin pet friendly. All we ask is that you respect our property and keep your pet from doing any damage. Please make sure to take your pet out behind the cabins to answer nature’s call. If you plan to leave your pet alone in the cabin, please bring a crate. Otherwise, you'll need to take your pet with you when you go out.
Please note: Dogs must not be allowed to disturb other guests with a lot of barking. All dogs bark occasionally and we understand that, but if your dog is a constant barker this isn't the best place to bring it.
The loft area of Ship’s Quarters is not meant to be a play area for younger kids, especially toddlers and infants. There is no guard in place to minimize the falling risk. Older children and adults will find the loft an enchanting area of privacy that expands the sleeping space and provides a separate entertainment area.
Ship’s Quarters is a non-smoking cabin.

Hi, I'm Sonja, and my husband, Tom, and I built Ship's Quarters at Moss Landing on a piece of property we bought in 2006 near the beach in Ocean Shores. Well, actually my husband and our family did most of the building, but I got to furnish and decorate it! When I was 14, I found a picture of a little log cabin and taped it to the front of a notebook. I carried that picture with me for the next 20 years, always dreaming of the day I might be fortunate enough to have a cabin of my own. Then I married Tom. He and I have been building and remodeling things ever since we got married in 1998, but the possibility of building a log cabin was always there in the back of our minds. When we bought the property in Ocean Shores, we had an idea that we could build some type of vacation homes so people could enjoy the beauty of Ocean Shores, but nothing we could find really felt like the right thing.
One day, we were talking about the property and what we might do, and we did another search on the internet. Voila, we found Conestoga Log Cabins. After researching and getting plans, we knew we were onto something.
We are so fortunate to have had so many people stay at Moss Landing. Our guest book is full of heart-warming stories. This was our first cabin, but not our last. We now live in one cabin and have 3 vacation cabins on this site. And we love sharing them with people who are looking for an enchanting, relaxing, and original getaway. Bon Voyage!
Sonja Moss purchased this cabin in 2006
We never thought a place like Ocean Shores could exist. A friend told us about it and said she had bought a lot to build her own vacation home there. She said that there were still a few lots available for sale, so we took off for places unknown.....and we were delighted. We bought our lot the same day we arrived. We knew that it was a place we wanted to keep coming back to. Ocean Shores is a quaint little community with SO MUCH to do. People from all over Washington (and further) come to do clam digging, beach combing, storm watching, and kite sailing. There are so many wonderful things to do. You can even go horseback riding on the beach. We have found the people to be quite friendly here.
It's a unique place and a wonderful nature spot. You just have to be willing to share the roadway with the local deer population.
We were finally able to move here and live full time in Ocean Shores, and we started managing our own cabins in January 2013. It's been an awesome experience, and we're constantly amazed at all the wonderful guests that stay here. When you can actually meet the folks that stay in the cabin, it changes everything. We love getting to know our guests, and we thrilled just to be here!
Ship's Quarters at Moss Landing is a place to wind down and relax. Enjoy the silence of being at the end of the peninsula near the wildlife refuge. Feel the ocean breezes as you relax on the front porch. The solitude is peaceful. Nature is close and palpable. Storms occasionally come screaming in, but you are always safe, warm, and dry in our rustic, cozy cabins. There is as much or as little solitude as you want. You can enjoy the hot tub, barbeque your favorite foods, walk down to the beach, kick back and watch a movie, cook a gourmet meal. If ever a cabin could be a destination resort, this is it.

Everything you need to experience a nice quiet beach getaway with the family.
We needed a working vacation where our big dog would be welcome, and Moss Landing delivered. The beautiful cabin is welcoming and homey - much better than a hotel. Super fast WiFi. We love the easy walk to the beach, and are glad we visited in the off season of March before the crowds really set in. Endless hot water, a ramp to the front entrance, and a high toilet with grab bars in the bathroom were welcome bonuses. Hot tubbing in a rain storm is awesome fun. We brought a folding pen for the dog which made it easy to give him his own space on the porch, lawn, or front room. Thanks Sonja and Tom, this was just what the doctor ordered!
The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. Quiet setting and very friendly and helpful owners
We really enjoyed our stay, and fell in love with the cabin. It was perfect! Next time we will definitely plan to stay longer since it was so hard to leave.
If you wonder where the rainbow touches down (in Washington State) it is on the peninsula of Washington State and this cottage, quiet and beautifully appointed is wonderful. We had the pleasure to visit for a high-tide Winter weather storm and it was dramatic. Rain and hail only added to the fun of being in the hot tub (under cover) followed by a gas-fired fireplace just a few steps away, inside, in a comfortable living room/ dining room. The kitchen had ample refrigeration and the gas stove (with broiler) provided for a fun setting for cooking and dining. The loft above (with futon sofa) and wide screen TV, tons of movies was entertaining. Be willing to climb the ladder ! The two bedrooms on the main floor were ample but pack lightly, as shelves, cabinets, and places to hang things up are (appropriately) nominal. A short walk to the beach (there is no view from the cottage) was just that 'short' and we did not want for more. Thank you for a near-fantasy get away!
Ocean Shores hosts several major festivals every year which attract huge crowds. Most of the vacation rentals and even hotels rent up very quickly due to the popularity of these events. Come and enjoy the Sand and Sawdust festival where people come from all over the country to compete in wood sculpture AND sand sculpture . Other popular events: Antique and Collectibles Show, Beach Comber Fun Fair, Razor Clam Festival, Spring Fling Arts and Crafts show, and the Festival of Colors, our kite flying competition.
Whether you want to zip down the beach on a moped or take a liesurely horseback ride, Ocean Shores is the place to do it. If shooting photos of the ever changing ocean or the wide variety of wildlife that abound here, bring you camera.
If you just can't consider traveling without your four-legged companions, know that they are always welcome at Moss Landing. Our four-legged friend is a big yellow lab named Juneau, and she loves living here close to the beach.
When the day winds down into evening, head up to the entrance to Ocean Shores and take in the weekend live entertainment at Galway Bay, our locan Irish Pub that is known far and wide for great food and bands.
Whatever it is that you're looking for in a vacation, there's a VERY good chance that you'll find it at Ocean Shores.
