About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

Private, well kept lake home in musky country. Where you can begin each day with a cup of coffee on the deck, listening for loons, while enjoying one of the finest wilderness views the Chippewa Flowage has to offer.

Spend the summer nights on the screen porch enjoying the sounds and smells of the North in comfort, or enjoy a campfire cookout at the lakeside fire pit.

Located on the Chippewa Flowage in a position that allows you to fish Walleye, Muskie, or panfish in the Big Chip, or if you choose, float the West fork of the Chippewa river right back to the dock for some trophy small mouth bass and fast action Muskie fishing. All that catch and release really works!

Tie up your boat to the large private dock, electricity available lakeside to keep a charge in the batteries. Boat rentals and launching available at several different resorts within a short drive. You can reach any spot on the entire Chippewa Flowage from our dock.

Home is located on 20-plus acres near the Chequemagon National Forest, perfectly located for mountain biking, hiking, hunting, or just exploring.

During the winter you can snowshoe or cross country ski on the Flowage or take a short drive to the American Birkebeiner ski trail. If your not up to a nordic ski on the Birkie there are other less challenging groomed ski trails in the Hayward area.

Snowmobile trail network begins one-fourth mile away with hundreds of miles of groomed trails and 200 miles of lake shoreline to be explored.

About Roger and Heidi Burger

My wife and I have lived our lives in the Hayward area. As a family we spend as much time as we can on the Flowage. We use & love it year round.

Why Roger and Heidi Burger chose Northwest

We built the cabin in 1990 as our year round residence. The location cannot be improved upon. Easy access to Hayward and Winter, surrounded by national forest, navigable water to any other point on the Flowage and slow no wake zones keep away jet skiers and most boating traffic. It has played host to many of our best family memories.

What makes this house unique

Unmatched privacy on this body of water.

This is the perfect up north cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was everything as described. It was very clean and secluded. The view from the cabin deck and breezeway was perfect. Fishing was good. We had a fire almost every night we were here. The firewood on site was a huge plus! Thank you Roger and Heidi for an awesome week at your cabin, we look forward to coming back!

Peaceful cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a very clean and quiet cabin with a great location on the Chippewa Flowage about 20 minutes from downtown Hayward.

The cabin itself has central air, dishwasher, coffee pot and microwave which came in handy. Also the Wifi was nice to have for netflix or whatever streaming you want to do.

The swimming area is what you would expect on a lake or river we all had water shoes for swimming and floating around the dock.

The cabin is on a good size hill so if you have elderly people or toddlers they may have trouble going up and down the hill which is where the dock and fire pit are.

Also the refrigerator freezes things in the back no matter what setting it is on.

Overall it was a fun week and I would recommend this cabin to others.

Just remember to bring the bug spray.

Thanks for a great week Heidi and Roger

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the review. We are happy you enjoyed your week at the cabin! The fridge (although one of our newer appliances) has recently been running very cold at the back and is next on our list to upgrade. Have a great summer and thanks for taking the time to write about the cabin.

Wonderful property!

This was our first experience with VRBO rentals.

House is exactly as described. Very nice. Secluded and very private.

Being able to keep our boat on the lake was wonderful... Morning and evening fishing and in between. Would highly recommend.

Everything we hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our family of five plus grandma and grandpa. There were beds for everyone and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the Chippewa Flowage. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and canoes, swam near the dock, had many campfires, and drank tea on the deck. The home was very clean with everything we needed inside. The owners were very accommodating. We highly recommend this property. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
