This cabin is beautiful and situated in a wonderful area! Everything you need. There were some complaints about the beds from family members but ours was comfy. I Ioved laying in bed at night and seeing the stars. I highly recommended this rental and would stay there again.
Beautiful place to stay!
Very nice cabin right next to the river with even better views! Great location, peaceful and quiet, yet very conviently located right outside of town. We already want to come back here next year; would definitely recommend this cabin!
A great cabin well situated along the Wind River, while close to town.
Warm rustic western cabin well appointed for comfort.
Nice cabin & owner but there were a few drawbacks.
Cabin is easy to find, owner pleasant & responsive to emails. You can find anything you need in the terrific little town of Dubois. The cabin does not have any HVAC...just wall heaters & wood stove. There is a Motel on one side, rental tee-pee's on the other... a private home overlooking the front of the cabin & highway to the back. The cabin was comfortable but the shower design is a fail. We were required to purchase rental insurance or provide a large security deposit. Please do not consider these comments as negative but more as an F.Y.I. Dubois, Wy. is a great destination in itself...be aware that the Togwotee Pass that connects Jackson Hole to Dubois is subject to closures due to weather.
The cabin was everything it said it would be. The altitude got to us but we followed some hints left at the cabin and they seemed to help, especially soaking in the claw foot tub. The small town of Dubois was nice & surrounding area is very scenic . The Cowboy Cafe downtown was very good. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, would recommend to others.
Lovely cabin by the river
Stayed here for a week to watch the eclipse and tour the area. The home is quite nice, with traditional western decor (and some impressive animal trophy heads!). Open plan, and comfortable furniture. The river is very close, and you can walk down to it easily. It is also easy to walk into town.
The cabin isn't isolated, as it sits between a motel and a tipi camping ground, but its orientation towards the river generally limits one's awareness of this.
My only issues were with glare, both from the close-by road (headlights in the bedrooms at night) and the sun (the house has very few window coverings and the sun is intense at this elevation). During the day one can sit on the side of the house on the wraparound porch to escape the sun, but there were no sun or wind breaks on the main deck overlooking the river which limited its daytime use.
Though the description identifies two bathrooms, be aware that there is only one real shower in the house; the master bedroom only has a tub with a handheld spray and no curtain.
YOU WILL BE SURROUNDED BY NATIONAL PARKS AND THE FITZGERALD WILDERNESS,WHICH IS THE HOME OF THE LARGEST BIGHORN SHEEP POPULATION IN NORTH AMERICA. THERE ARE ALSO BUFFALO,ELK,MULE DEER,GRIZZLY AND BLACK BEARS,AND MOOSE.
