About the host
Hosted by John Albrecht
I am a long time native of the Midwest. I was born in Chicago, raised in Naperville, studied at Marquette University in Milwaukee, and lived in Chicago. I know the area well and have traveled much of the Chicago-land area.
Travel and hospitality have long been a part of my life. From a young age my family took trips driving and flying around the US. As my siblings and I got older we traveled to several countries, staying in bed and breakfasts, apartments, and people's homes. I enjoyed meeting locals and being welcomed into their homes. It provides perspective and an intimate atmosphere uncommon to most other dwelling arrangements.
That is why I want to provide the same experience for travelers who are looking for a place to call home for a bit. When you are here, let me know how I can make you feel at home.

Why they chose this property
This property is super centrally located, which is why I was attracted to it in the first place. During the summer months there is a plethora of nearby activities including a weekly band concert in Central Park just 2 blocks south. During the winter months there is still plenty to do with several sledding hills, cafes, and theaters.
The train station makes traveling to downtown Chicago a breeze, whether commuting for work or a night on the town. Of course downtown Naperville is also a happening place and is a much shorter journey from the front door.
The Historic District is a quiet neighborhood so you can work from home in peace, cozy up with a good book, or gather with a few friends and family for game night.

What makes this property unique
Apart from being close to so many amenities, there are a few things that make this apartment unique.
-On-site Property Manager: I'm John, the property manager, who lives in the garden level just below the apartment. I'm generally close by if and when you need something.
-The Backyard: there is a propane grill, propane cast-iron griddle, portable outdoor fire pit, lawn chairs, and tables for use whether permitting. If and when you plan to use any of it, let me know so I can make sure you have what you need is available. Occasionally I have some backyard gatherings in the summer and fall.
-The Gardens: The front yard is full of native prairie plants including wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs. During the summer and fall, I have a vegetable garden in the backyard. Butterflies, bees, bunnies, and birds are all common sights about the gardens.
-Renovations: The whole building has been renovated including plumbing, electric, lighting, insulation, drywall, HVAC, flooring, windows, window sills, blinds, cabinets, counters, and appliances. With so many new things, something many not work as expected or may just need some improvement. Please let me know.
