Amazing Winter Weekend at The Coves

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a couple of days at the Riverhouse and absolutely loved it. With it being early December, the weather was misty and cold but we kept a fire roaring in the fireplace and chairs parked in front of the big picture window looking out on the Columbia River. The heated floors kept the place nice and warm. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of the Columbia Gorge. Will definitely be back.

Welcome to Narnia!

  • 5 of 5

The river house was quite an experience. I have done a ton of backpacking in the pacific northwest. The views here are normally only achievable by walking into the wild. The couch placed in front of the panoramic window is my favorite seat in the house. It might even be my favorite view in the northwest. With the heated floors in the winter time, and the private lagoon in the summer. It is hard to beat a stay at the river house. I will always return to the river house for years to come. I would recommend this rental to anyone and everyone.

Beautiful, but a downside

  • 4 of 5

We walked into the condo and were blown away by how nice it was. A completely IKEA kitchen, big window looking onto the Columbia River, and very well decorated. We were thrilled! The property was beautiful with the coves that are safe for swimming. Blackberrys were ripe and juicy. Then we went to bed. The back of the condo is about 30 feet from a two-lane highway that had traffic all night. The front of the condo is about 100 feet from the train tracks. We loved the fresh air and didn't want to close the windows. I would guess that if you are there in the winter or use the AC in the summer you wouldn't hear the noise so much. I ended up getting earplugs and that helped quite a bit. Actually, the road was much worse than the train, especially when a truck came by or someone hit the rumble strip in the center of the road. It was in a great location with plenty of things to do nearby. Both sides of the Columbia Gorge have a highway and a train. It just goes with the experience. But we didn't realize that and weren't prepared for it. If you're not bothered like I was by the noise, I'd highly recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the honest review - We built the condos with double insulation and good windows to help mitigate the traffic noise. As you said it's tough to get away from but hopefully the views, amenities and local activities make up for it. Our other accommodations on the property do offer more seclusion from traffic and rail noise and hopefully we will see you again for another visit!

Great views with the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a fabulous time spending the weekend in such a nice place! The fireplace was nice and cozy and not to mention the great views of the river. It was fun watching the boat traffic during the day and even more fun roasting smores on the gas fire pit. Brad and Kristyn are very nice host and hostesses, thanks for the great memories! We will be back.
