We enjoyed our stay. Property was well appointed and comfortable. Property manager was responsive when the place was not ready for our arrival (had not been cleaned after last rental). Manager offered a dinner out while we waited. All good.

Close to Joshua Tree Park Entrances

The owners were super responsive to any questions or concerns we had. The property was spacious for 2 adults and 3 teenagers to enjoy time together. The proximity to JTNP was amazing, no waiting in line at the 29 Palms entrance. Kitchen was well-stocked, note there is no oven, but there is a microwave and toaster oven. The house was clean and had enough essential supplies like dishwasher pods and toilet paper. View of the mountains out of the front window. Excellent value for the price.

Lovely stay right next to Joshua Tree National Park

This is a beautiful, comfortable house right next to the back entrance to Joshua Tree. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of sleeping space. We loved the little touches like the record player, soft towels, and fire pit. My only feedback for families is that there is a lot of kitsch in this property, which can be challenging for kids who want to touch all the things. The furniture is also older, so some of the chairs and tables are wobbly and need to be delicately handled. The kitchen table is a unique leaf design and part of the stopper is missing so if you aren't careful the leaf will come down with breakfast on it. We luckily caught this before an accident, but it made us adjust where we seated the kids. There's a big back yard with plenty of space for exploring. We would definitely visit again.

Barbara is from California, Marc is from the Netherlands. We lived in Belgium for 18 years, our 3 kids were born there. We speak mostly Dutch at home. We moved to California in 2012 for work and the wonderful Californian climate.

We are an active family. We love to go on hikes, surfing, mountain biking, skiing, camping in our tiny 1957 Westener travel trailer. So for us Joshua Tree and 29 Palms are heaven. Delicious healthy food, fun people, fun things to do, lots of activity and then come home to a relaxing and cozy house for baking, cooking and playing board games.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to 29 Palms and the Joshua Tree National Park since we moved to California in 2012. When our kids were young, they loved running around the park, climbing rocks, having picnics high up above the ground, flying the kites ...

After a few years of staying at hotels and Airbnb's we decided that it was time to look at finding our own place close to the Park and when the opportunity presented itself in 2020, we did not hesitate.

We love the Maricopa Property for its proximity to the park entrance, walking distance to the museum around the corner, walking distance to The 29 Palms Inn for coffee etc. It is so centrally located and yet so calm and peaceful.

We love being at the house to relax, play games, watch a move as we spread out on the comfy red couch ...
