Enjoy Wonder Valley in this charming, original homestead house on five private acres overlooking the beauty of desert and Joshua Tree National Park.

Located on 5 private acres set back from the road, Dale Ranch offers a peaceful and secluded desert escape with sweeping views, unforgettable sunsets, moonrises, and star-filled skies. While you may see neighboring properties in the distance, the space feels incredibly private, quiet, and relaxing — the perfect place to truly unwind and enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

The property features multiple outdoor living spaces including 4 patio seating areas, hammocks, BBQ, outdoor dining areas, fire pit seating, and panoramic desert and mountain views overlooking Joshua Tree National Park.

Guests can also enjoy our detached desert studio lounge, skyview room and yoga studio space — a peaceful bonus area designed for stretching, meditation, reading, creative work, relaxing with friends, or simply escaping into the calm of the desert.

The side yard includes an outdoor game area with horseshoes, darts, and an outdoor bar, along with a large outdoor shower perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Joshua Tree. Traveling with dogs? We also offer a spacious gated dog area where pets can safely roam and play.

Our cowgirl pool and surrounding deck are the perfect way to spend a warm desert afternoon — lounge poolside, dip your feet in the water, enjoy a drink, and soak in the high desert atmosphere.

Although the property feels wonderfully secluded, you’re still just 7–10 minutes from local restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, and the North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

Dale Ranch is also ideal for remote work and longer stays, featuring fast and reliable Starlink WiFi so you can comfortably take Zoom calls, stream, work remotely, or stay connected while enjoying the beauty of the desert.

What a great hidden gem! So close to Joshua Tree NP and town, but far enough away we felt secluded. The property was spotless and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We especially loved spending time in the pool—it was the perfect way to cool off after a long day of hiking. The bed was incredibly comfortable and communication with the host was seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-appointed desert escape!

This home was beautifully decorated and even better than the pictures. Every detail felt unique and thoughtfully curated to showcase the best of the desert, from the gorgeous skies to the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen was wonderful, the instructions were clear, and our host was incredibly responsive. I’d 100% recommend this property and would love to stay again!

Lovely retro ranch home!

We loved our stay at this adorable little property. The location is proximate to 29 Palms and the Joshua Tree National Park. This Vrbo has reliable amenities, good AC, a cute kitchenette, and lovely vintage decor. Strongly recommend.

Great stay

Perfect stop near Joshua Tree! The place is very safe and secure. It was a cute, cozy home and unique yard. The super comfy bed was definitely a plus! The pool looked perfect for the warmer months. Great and quick communication between host as well:)

Our stay at Old Dale Ranch was just lovely! It was awfully hot on the first night of our stay but we found the extra AC in the closet and fans which helped to cool it down overnight. Isabel also had her handyman get a swamp cooler out of the barn for us to use the next day which helped even more. Our kids slept on the fold out couch and said it was very comfortable. We also very much enjoyed the little cowboy pool out back - so fun and nice to cool off in the afternoon after being in the park. So happy we chose to stay here! Would stay again!

Relaxing time at JTNO

The property is spacious, clean, and unique. Property manager is responsive. It is about 5-10 mins from the North entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Most of the activities we wanted to do were through the West entrance which is about 25-30 minutes away. Either way, we had a great time and we enjoyed staying in this property. Dog friendly too, so we were able to bring our animal friends. Just make sure to clean up after them!

The neighborhood is incredibly peaceful and quiet — most of the time the only sound you’ll hear is the wind.
