The Green Gull Cottage is your perfect place. Enjoy your stay in a beautifully decorated, three bedroom, three and a half bath 1800 sq foot beachside cottage located a short 3 minute walk to the beach. The upper level has a fully equipped kitchen (coffee maker, blender, waffle maker etc), dining room with seating for 8 + 2 bar stools. The living area with large balcony has views of the gulf, bay and lagoon and is equipped with a 50'' TV with surround sound.. Every room has TV service and WiF. The kitchen also has a second bar area with sink and beverage refrigerator. Three bedrooms, each with a private bath, are located on the lower level. Master has king bed, balcony and desk. Second bedroom has a queen bed and balcony. Third bedroom has a full size bed and twin bunk beds. A washer and dryer are at your disposal. All towels (with the exception of large beach towels), bath soap, kitchen/dishwasher detergent, etc are supplied. So just bring yourselves and get ready to have a wonderful vacation.
The lower deck has a charcoal BBQ and a storage space with all your beach amenities: chairs, kid’s toys, floats etc. Have a boat or camper? No problem. Unrestricted parking is available just across the street. Rental includes access to the Pointe West Beach Club with a spa, pool, children's pool/play area, fitness center and game room. The Green Gull Cottage is your perfect family getaway. Absolutely no smoking allowed: Pets are not allowed: Stairs have a child safety gate. High chair and playpen available and set up upon request.

Excellent cottage. We often come to Galveston and stay near the beach- most of the condos are musty and smell of mildew. This cottage was pristine, no odors, and extremely clean and tidy! Only 3 minute walk to the beach on an easy path.

This home was an awesome place to spend the week! Very clean and close to the beach. The owner communicated with me directly and provided supplies that many vacation rentals expect you to bring with you. We had a great view of the bay and took many pictures of beautiful sunsets. The price was great and we really enjoyed the size of the property for our family of 5. The pool was really fun as well!

Family Time

This is our third year to stay here. The location is perfect. Alan is always so great about answering our calls and our questions. It is really like a home away from home highly recommended. I’ll be making our reservations for next year within the next week.

Just-Wow

We checked in on a Monday after a long drive from Dallas-Fort Worth. The place was beautiful, clean and 1 block from the beach. Also, it is a short drive to the bay. BTW-you can see both from the back porch. It was nice to be out of the hustle of the Seawall, but close enough to enjoy it when we wanted to. Also, the beach club is a short drive away, as well. It is spectacular. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Easy check in/check out-fantastic location

This is our 2nd time staying in the Point West neighborhood-first time at this house. Alan was very informative pre-stay, and easy to get a hold of before/during stay. The house itself is lovely and clean. The kids loved being right next to the beach and the house had just about everything we could’ve wanted/needed.

Relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay at this West End Galveston property. The house is clean with plenty of room. Short walk to the beach. Nice views from the balconies. The kitchen is well stocked. The property owner was very responsive.

Wonderful stay!

My husband and I and our two kids (5 and 4 years) stayed recently and had a blast. The house was very clean and more than enough space for the 4 of us. The beach was a short walk from the house and very easy to access for daily beach trips. Our kids are already asking to go back. We will definitely visit again!

The cottage was beautiful. The owner was super nice and communicated fast. The property was gorgeous and we'll maintained. It included all the amenities that's we needed for a perfect stay. Me and my family will be definitely visiting again.

Family getaway

This was our second time to stay in this home. WE LOVE IT. The owners were so helpful and answered all of my questions. The house has everything needed and more. We just returned home today, and I will be making reservations for next year soon.

Relaxing fun weekend

This place is so pretty, the grounds are beautiful, the beach is so nice! We actually started to think about buying a home in Point west! Our Grand baby enjoyed his first time on the beach. We will be back! We will rent, more fun!

Green Gull rocks!

Nicely accommodated beach house. Great open space and huge kitchen. Bring your own spices if you plan to cook, cupboards locked except for salt and pepper. Nice backyard and easy access to the beach. Really enjoyed the Green Gull House.

The review of your stay is much appreciated. However, the comment about lack of spices is puzzling since there is/was a well-equipped spice carousel with an assortment of 16 spices provided for your use on the kitchen countertop.

Nice Beach House

The Green Gull is a nice property within easy walking distance of the beach. It is tastefully furnished and the sunsets from the upper deck are spectacular. Alan is an excellent host as is extremely informative about his property and the surrounding area. The built-in gate for the stairs was a big plus for the safety of our young grandkids. We will definitely consider renting from Alan again!

Laid back, comfortable and easy

This property is perfectly located for visiting the beach. You can walk the boardwalk or drive back 1/2 mile to be right on the beach without a walk. The house has everything you need! And the bed are fantastic! Great rest and relaxation. We cooked every meal and had everything we needed. Thanks, Alan, for sharing your space in Pointe West.

We loved our stay. The house was perfect = room for 4 adults and 2 children - and bathrooms to support all. Close to the beach. Al contacted us with the check in details and then again letting us know of a possible traffic delay on 45 suggesting a different way to go.... We all agreed we want to come back .

Great House, Ideal Location

It was perfect. Just 3 miles from the beach. The house was adorable. The owner was extremely responsive. We didn’t realize how far away the grocery stores were So you’re gonna want to stock up before you get to the house. Other than that, the only other critical feedback would be that the kitchen was pretty sparse and when I went to make pancakes I had to use a pot for a mixing bowl. The mosquitoes are real – bring lots of hugs spray

A nice place to stay

The house is beautifully furnished with nice touches and knick-knacks, like pictures of beach chairs and beach scenes. The upstairs is nicely furnished with a large dining table and 8 comfy chairs, the sofa and chairs in the tv area are nice also. WiFi worked as promised (except each night, it seemed like there was a huge slow-down, probably because every home in the area was watching TV). The bedroom was also very nice, and 3 full bath for each bedroom was MUCH appreciated. All towels and soaps were provided. The beds were comfortable. The A/C worked pretty well considering it was in the 90's each day. Good location to the beach. Hair dryer in the bathrooms, just too many nice things to mention. I recommend.

This house was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids(2-10yo). It was clean and comfortable. The beds were great! There is plenty of seating in the dining/living spaces. The kitchen is bright and big. Newly renovated with white cabinets. The installed baby gate at the top of the stairs to the living/kitchen area was perfect for safety of the kids. A beach crossover is nearby to the pedestrian beach. The Pointe West pools were the kids favorite. Especially the Sunset pool with the lazy river. The other pool is very resort like. It is an infinity pool overlooking the beach. The 25 pp fee for over 4yo is for your entire stay. It is well worth the price. We rented a golf cart as there are designated paths. The kids loved it and made getting around easier. Especially using the tunnel under the highway to get to the Sunset Pool.We loved the house and the amenities. Alan was a great host and very responsive! Our vacation was perfect!

Too many stairs

The house was really nice, clean and close to the beach, but unfortunately not close enough. Five minute walk to the beach from the house but not close enough to have to carry cabanas coolers and everything. Cannot drive on the beach or anywhere close to where we wanted to be. Beds were very comfortable. It was nice having a bathroom in every bedroom.Too many stairs for old people. No water hose to rinse beach items off. Refrigerator did not work and had a hard time getting a hold of the host. Hours went by before he got back with us. In the meantime, we finally got the refrigerator to work, but not enough ice production. 3 miles to the nearest store to get ice.

I am very sorry you were dissatisfied with your visit. However, all your negative comments are unjustified. 1) The Pointe West beach is closed to all vehicle traffic. This was disclosed on the documentation you received prior to your visit. Most guests appreciate the closure to traffic. 2) Water hose: There is an outside shower where your beach supplies could have been easily washed off. 3) Miles to grocery store. It was clearly disclosed on your rental documents that the nearest grocery store is 3 miles from the cottage. 4) Owner’s lack of response: The first text I received from you was at 3:58 PM. I called back and spoke to you at 4:21 PM . That is less than a 30 min. response time. Hardly a long wait. 5) The fridge was not working when you arrived because of a relatively brief neighborhood-wide power outage. 6) Lack of ice: Guests left the house the same day as your arrival. I assume they took all the ice for their travel home. The ice maker is working properly. 7) Steps: Every newly built house in Galveston requires FEMA-imposed 15 – 20 feet of steps to the first living area because of the flooding risk.

Nice stay in a great location

Super comfy beds and plenty of space for a party of 8. Close to beach and a short drive to the club house and pool. Baby equipment (gate, playpen) was a plus for our group. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and some bonus beach toys. Just a few caveats: Would not recommend planning to walk to the club house -- it was definitely further than the 0.3 miles indicated. Closer to 1 mile. Cooking and cleaning supplies were adequate but definitely not impressive. Would be good for a small group, but was difficult to cook for 8+. For example, we planned to bake cookies and found only a half-sized baking sheet and one 8 inch baking pan. There were a few spices but limited baking supplies (no flour, cinnamon, vanilla) Deck and deck furniture could use some updates. Found some exposed nails on the deck, plus there is a loose railing on the main stairs to the property.
