Glad you enjoyed the location, Christina!
It's unfortunate you did not respond to any of our outreach or let us know if there was something that we could have addressed to make your stay a 5-star, as we aspire to do.
During our 10 years as hosts (via VRBO and another platform) the vast majority of our guests have submitted 5-star ratings. Wish we could have chatted about anything that wasn't satisfactory for you as we would have been happy to work with you. We hope you give us another chance in the future, as you were great guests!
The shower is difficult to get in and out of for an elderly person with mobility problems. However, the entire cottage is charming. The kitchen is well-supplied with implements and pots and pans and dishes. The location near two lakes is very nice. It is a peaceful, beautiful cottage.

Cozy cabin feel with a “woods” backyard feel. Perfect for a summer or winter get away. Has everything you need for a great weekend getaway and the host is so considerate and attentive. Highly recommend!

It was such a pleasure to host you! You were absolutely stellar guests and we look forward to welcoming you again!
The cottage was very nice. We felt very welcome and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My only suggestion would have been to perhaps power wash the back deck hot tub area. The hot tub was very nice though!

So glad you enjoyed your stay, Terri--we enjoyed hosting you! Thanks for the heads-up on the patio--it is a sweet private setting, situated in the midst of the city yet with a north woods feel. And that lush canopy of trees includes a black walnut tree that can be messy when the walnuts drop onto the patio. We do try to keep up with regular cleanings and power washings but will be more diligent while the walnuts fall! Hope to host you again!
This rustic cottage hidden away in a lovely neighborhood of beautiful homes was wooded and a short walk to Lake Harriet where biking, kayak rental and food and drinks are available.

So glad you enjoyed your stay, Madeleine! We hope to welcome you back soon!
We loved sitting on the back deck, enjoying the hot tub or just sipping a beverage watching the trolly go by & enjoying the wildlife back there. We saw a white squirrel and an owl. We walked around the lake and my husband fished. Just driving through the neighborhood was lovely and we enjoyed the restaurants around there too. Paisley Park is NOT TO BE MISSED. Book the 3-hour tour even if you're not an Uber-Prince Fan like me! The cottage was very comfortable and charming and the hosts were wonderful. I'd stay here every time I'm in the area!

So glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your positive comments!
Also, thanks for sharing that your 4-star rating was due only to the small water stain on the kitchen wall at the chimney. Thanks for letting us know about that. As noted in our private communication with you, it will be repaired as soon as the weather permits! Just wanted to make it clear to other potential guests that the 4-star rating was only related to that issue, which will be addressed.
See you at your next visit—we are delighted to know you plan to return!
This cute little cottage was awesome. Its an older cottage with old wood floors which made it awesome. Definitely would stay there again if in the area.

Thanks for the kind words, Sloane. I am not sure why you rated us a 4. If it was due to the exterior work we were doing during your stay, I want to clarify here for future guests that I fully disclosed what was going to take place (which was minimally disruptive) and gave you the opportunity to cancel with a full refund. You chose to stay anyway and we compensated you for any potential disruption. You said you had a great stay, so the rating of 4 is disappointing.
This is a charming place at a great location. Everything is available to "live" like usual. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. Confession..planes could be heard around 6 am ish but it was not a bother. I would stay here again if I am able to visit the fine twin cities again in the future. Thank you

Thank you so much for your kind review, Nadya! It was lovely to communicate with you and meet you while you were here. We hope to welcome you again soon, and hope you are doing well!
We had a nice relaxing stay at the cottage. Everything we needed to cook a meal was available and restaurants and shops in Linden Hills are a short walk away. We loved being so close to Lake Harriet and watching the trolley go by. We loved having our meals in the breakfast nook. The hot tub is a nice amenity but we didn’t have a chance to use it. Would definitely stay again!

Our stay was wonderful. The property feels like a beautiful secret cabin hidden inside of the big city. The house was clean and exactly as described in the listing. Working with the owner was a breeze. We had a great experience

About the host

We have lived in the Twin Cities area all our lives and have traveled extensively with our three (now grown) children. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Minnesota (B.A. in Spanish and M.A. in Educational Psychology), and worked at a private 4-year university in the Twin Cities from March 2000 through February 2020, when I took a new position at one of the metro area’s finest community colleges. Curt completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Minnesota and works in real estate and design, and manages our rental units.
We started hosting on Airbnb in December 2014, and we are thoroughly enjoying the experience! We have met literally thousands of marvelous people. It has been so satisfying to open our home and share this fabulous location with others.
Why they chose this property
Located in one of the most sought-after Twin City areas, our charming Linden Hills cottage is a peaceful haven in the midst of a vibrant urban area. The cottage is a mere 800 feet from gorgeous Lake Harriet and right smack on the extensive Minneapolis bike trails with William Berry Park and Lake Harriet right out the back door. Enjoy concerts in the hammock on the patio or take a 2-minute hike for a beer and a sandwich at the Pavilion.
Fully equipped kitchen with cozy breakfast nook, LR/DR, entry parlor with piano which we tune regularly. Walk-out lower level family room, with sleeping cubby/nook with queen-sized mattress, full laundry, basic cable/internet, outdoor hot tub (glorious in winter). In addition to being steps away from the shore/beach of Lake Harriet, we are also just blocks from Lake Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun).
What makes this property unique
Prime Twin Cities location, bright, roomy, historic and comfortable cottage. Just steps away from downtown Linden Hills, offering multiple unique shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bakery, county library, and even our handy local hardware store.
Our cottage was built around 1900 as a summer cottage. There were a few others built in this area around that time as summer homes.
