The Fox House: Friends and Family Retreat with Game Room, Pool Table, Volleyball

Welcome to The Fox House in northwest Tucson! Our goal is for you to truly feel at home here. The sun dazzles in the backyard, we have a fun-filled game area, there’s ample parking, fast Wi-Fi, cheery kitchen, comfortable beds, and desert and mountain views. A truly beautiful home base to enjoy your Tucson experience!

THE SPACE

Our home is located in a safe and friendly northwest neighborhood. Designed to honor the hosts' grandparents (the Foxes) who owned the home for 56 years and were huge Tucson enthusiasts, each room has a special and meaningful theme to add to the experience.

The Fox House features:

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (4 BEDROOMS)
Comfort and cleanliness is our priority. We thoroughly wash all bedding—including quilts and spare blankets—between every stay so you can snuggle up with confidence.
• Desert Sky Suite: King bed, ensuite bathroom, TV
• Gem & Mineral Room: Queen bed, desk for homework or remote work, TV
• Navajo Room: Queen bed
• Fox Den: Two twin beds, a small bookshelf with picture and chapter books

BATHROOMS
• 2 full bathrooms in the main house
• 1 half bath conveniently adjoins the game room

SPACES FOR GATHERING
• Comfortable living room with a reclining loveseat facing the TV and a special antique piano for music-loving families
• Bright, fully equipped kitchen and large dining area—great for shared meals and game nights

GAME ROOM
• TV, foosball, and a pool table that converts to a ping pong table
• Located in a converted workshop/garage, so has a more rustic feel – a perfect place for kids to play and make a little noise away from the main part of the house

OUTDOOR SPACE
• Backyard set up for relaxing and outdoor dining
• Propane grill for easy family meals
• Small volleyball/badminton court (24’ x 36’) for kids and adults alike
• Gorgeous views of Pusch Ridge

SEASONAL POOL ACCESS
• Private neighborhood pool available approximately May 15-October 25
• Pool access is optional and must be requested in advance
• An electronic waiver is required before receiving the pool key

The neighborhood is quiet, located just minutes from Tohono Chul Gardens and Gallery. It is minutes from shopping, world-class golf courses and fabulous restaurants, and a 20-minute drive to downtown or the university area.

We've truly worked to make this feel like a clean and comfortable home away from home - less like a stuffy luxury escape, more like a happy spot where you feel welcome and at ease. We're committed to help you feel that way throughout the duration of your time here. We strongly value mutual respect and honesty in all communications. It is the perfect location for any Tucson vacation!

Please Note the Following Rules and Information:

NO SMOKING OR VAPING ON ANY PART OF THE PROPERTY- INSIDE OR OUTSIDE:
This is extremely important to us. This isn't just a rental property for us- we come and stay often with our family, and we have family members sensitive to smoke and strong smells. If you want to indulge in smoking or vaping, this is not the property for you! Breaking this rule will result in us asking you to vacate the property immediately and forfeit the cost of your reservation.

NO PARTIES OR SPORTS TEAMS: We have a great relationship with the Fox neighbors and want to keep it that way. This is a quiet neighborhood, and we will strictly enforce the rule to only have approved guests on the property. If you hope to have daytime visitors during your stay, that must be approved before you reserve The Fox House.

NO AC OR HEAT IN GAME ROOM: While the game room is full of fun activities, please note that there is no air conditioning or heat in that room. There is an extra large ceiling fan to keep the area cool, but the game room has a separate entry from the house and does not have heating or air conditioning.

PARKING: Our garage was converted into the awesome game room, so while there is ample parking in the driveway and on the property, there is no covered parking. Guests typically park in the driveway in front of the house, but if you prefer your vehicle more tucked away, there is a secondary driveway with a cement pad on the side of the house by the game room.

BABY AMENITIES: We love little travelers! While we do provide child friendly accommodations, our home is not child-proofed. Parents must supervise their children at all times. We have dishes for children, but for safety reasons we do NOT provide a pack-n-play or highchair.

THE DESERT: We love the desert on the property and hope you do too. However, please note that we do not manicure or maintain that portion of the property- it is truly a wild desert experience. You are likely to encounter snakes or other wildlife, so please do not let children roam unsupervised and wander at your own risk.

BUGS: Arizona has a lot of bugs. We do have regular pest control treatments, but some bugs may still find their way into the house. We encourage guests to close doors whenever possible to prevent bugs from entering the house, particularly in the spring and following any sort of rain.

POOL: The neighborhood pool is down the street and around the corner from the house. It takes approx. 5-10 minutes to walk to the pool and a couple of minutes to drive. The pool is kept locked and in order to obtain the key, guests will need to fill out an electronic waiver agreeing to the community rules. Please reach out ahead of time if you are interested in using the pool. The season varies, but it is open sometime early May until sometime late October.

SHOES: Because Arizona has a lot of dust and the house is surrounded by desert, we recommend (and kindly request but don’t insist) that you keep shoes off in the house as much as possible to avoid tracking dust and dirt throughout the house.

CHECK OUT: We want the check-out experience to be as simple for you as possible and don't want you to have any surprises. We ask that you load and start the dishwasher if you have time, and please take any garbage to the outside trash bins before you leave. Please leave the house in good condition, but our amazing cleaners will take care of all laundry and scrubbing. Let us know if you have any questions!

SECURITY CAMERAS: For the safety of our guests and our property, we have motion activated security cameras by the front entry and in the yard that record audio and video and are always on. There are NO cameras in the house.
