Our stay was brief though it was the prefect place in the heart of downtown Park City and off the resort. We were looking for a ski in/ out spot and something close to the pulse of the town and we found it. The condo had everything we needed for cooking, drinking and lounging. The other tenants were friendly. There was plenty of space to store boards, skis and other snow gear. The numerical access worked great with groups. Nice enclosed hot tub area with a shower to rinse off. My only tip is to check the dishwasher upon your arrival for dishes, glasses, and silverware.
Very nice condo - great beds and cool view
The condo is very nice for a group of 4-6 people. It is conveniently located and is nicely appointed. The owner is super responsive. There are TVs in every room and a nice new kitchen. It’s close to Main Street, though you have to hike down the mountain a bit. For ski acces, you walk up stairs to the QuitNTime run and head down to the Town Lift. Note to skiers - this run at the end can be a little challenging for beginners as it isn’t groomed and can get icy.
Positive and negative
The property is extremely well located to main street and to the transportation center/bus stop, which were huge benefits for 2017 Christmas week (very very poor early season snow.) This property would be almost ski-in-ski-out IF the run "Quittin' Time" had been open. Right off that run you could walk down a long flight of stairs and be almost directly across the street from the condo. However, if snow is poor (the base was 30") this run is not open and we had to ski to town lift and hike about 1/3 mile up the hill to the condo. For our teenagers it wasn't a huge deal, for smaller kids this would be difficult.
The property itself had great things and not so great things. The beds were REALLY comfortable, in our opinion. However, the walls are thin, the open loft meant that everyone had to be on the same sleep schedule, and one whole light fixture in the loft seemed to have blown-out bulbs because we could get the fan to work but not the light. The internet did not work for the last two days of our stay, the washer was such a benefit but the dryer worked poorly. The key system/door code was well thought out, but the keys were old and somewhat rusty and tricky to work. There's a really nice refrigerator but the water filter kept beeping that it needed to be changed. The kitchen was not particularly well stocked in order to really cook in.
Julie was very responsive when I mentioned problems, but after the third time (keys the first day, internet password being wrong when we arrived, then a door-locking issue again) I felt kind of bad contacting her, so the internet connectivity issues ultimately weren't resolved.
All in all, it's a decent accommodation that could use some maintenance-type attention, definitely centrally located but please be careful when you think about the logistics of "ski-in-ski-out".
We have had a low snowfall season and especially for Christmas the Quittin Time Run was not yet open. The run from the condo to the lift was open and the walk home is 3 1/4 blocks (7th Street - 524 = 2 1/4 + Park Ave - Woodside = 1 block via stairs. Total 3 1/4 blocks) but it is up hill and not great in ski boots. The Quittin time Run was open early in January and is open now.
The light bulbs have been replaced.
The internet was resolved ( a problem with Comcast our server) The password had been changed in doing an upgrade just before Christmas and management had not informed owners. But all are working now with correct passwords listed.
The lock took a little W-'D 40 and works fine. Sometimes with temperature changes the metal door needs adjusting. It is working fine now.
The washer/dryer are on an interior wall and the dryer sometimes struggles with a heavy load. We had added a box that was supposed to help with drying but it needs to be filled with water. Maybe it was dry. I'll work on that solution.
Please never hesitate to call me about a problem or concern. That is why I'm there. I can't fix a problem I don't know about. Just like the lights in the loft. We usually do the change in the daytime and the natural light from the skylights mean I rarely turn on the lights in the loft. I have replaced the bulbs and also extended the chain to the light and fan for easier access. Also, the filter in the fridge. I will check that now. I didn't know this new fridge even had a filter.
There is some sound carryover from the downstairs area to the open loft. That is mentioned in the unit description. We did a remodel on our unit across the hall and enclosed that area, and separated the loft room into 2 bedrooms giving more privacy and sleep schedule independence. It did increase the rental rate but guests have loved it. We did loose some of the vaulted ceiling feel in the living room area. We have left this unit open because many guests love that open feel and the lower rate.
Thanks for the input. Julie
We had everything we needed except a dryer that dried our clothes promptly
Absolutely perfect. Amazing location and plenty of space! I would stay here over and over!
Perfect little ski in ski out
Close to the mountain and close to the town. A much better location than going to Canyons. Fair price for the location and a nicely presented property. Perfect size for family of 4
