Overall this was a great place. It’s in a great community and we felt like we almost had a private beach. But, I think it’s time for a refresh. The dining room chairs desperately need to be replaced. The middle of the chair is completely worn out and you sink as soon as you sit. Pots and pans have been well used and could be replaced. All the walls and other surfaces could use a refresh. I am not unhappy I stayed here; we had a great time. I just think a little updating would be a great idea.

Great neighborhood but too strict

We had a wonderful time. House was clean and Blue Swell staff answered questions immediately and were easy to get ahold of. There are a few things in the house that need updating. The ice maker didn’t work, the microwave only worked some of the the time, a squirrel came down the fireplace and the A/C downstairs didn’t get very cold but all in all, we had a great time and would recommend!!

A couple of locks did not lock but the area is extremely safe with guarded gate to enter neighborhood. Close to restaurants and walk to bike rentals. Be nice if beach towels were provided. Recommend this property to 30A guests.

Family reunion

The property was in disrepair with many problems and outside areas dirty and poorly furnished. The upstairs air conditioning was broken the first night. The furniture was not adequate for "12" guests as advertised. The kitchen was poorly furnished with few utensils, dirty and old, scratched up non stick pots and pans, hodge podge of various glasses and cups, the gas range was malfunctioning, the ice maker did not work, the floor had sharp broken tiles and splintering "wood flooring" with protruding nails. Probably the worst place I have ever stayed, and I actually own a high end short term rental, and understand the guest expectations, at this premium price point. The management company Blue Swell is just not acceptable. Poor communication with the property security. I typically don't complain about my short term rentals, but most of the 30 adults in our group, renting other comparable houses in the Watersound community felt I should communicate my issues.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was very clean, simply decorated, fresh bedding, nicely equipped kitchen. Gated and easy to get to the beach. We had 14 people, the biggests Pros - It was very clean and roomy. Access to boardwalks, community pool & playground was super easy. Bruno's pizza is across the street. The Cons that we ran into - Dining table only seated 6 people - we ate in shifts, which worked out okay, but would have preferred to have had seating for 8 adults. If TV is your thing - the bedrooms to my knowledge are not smart tv's - but the living room was a smart tv. last Con is the parking. 1 space on street - we had 4 vehibles so we juggled 3 cars around when peoole needed to leave for awhile. I have stayed inside of the Watersound Community more than a dozen times. This home meets all the citeria we needed as a large family and would recommend this home to others. Note to all renters: Enjoy the porches -- They were wonderful and there are a few to enjoy! Also, carriage house was nicely equipped with everything we needed.

Disappointed by management company

The house was beautiful, however, the management company was misleading on which amenities would be available for us. They sent several door codes to different areas. Only for us to find out (when the kids got stuck in an area) that we had key fobs for access and in fact were not allowed access to things such as tennis courts. Security was not very friendly when we were inquiring about the fobs. We were only given two key fobs for 14 guests. When I asked to have one or two more, I was told by the management company that they were very expensive and we just needed to “follow each other around” for the trip. Some in our party though the beds were not comfortable. The ice maker and freezer did not work. Maintenance came out but was unable to repair it. The door on the microwave was broken. Maintenance unable to repair that either. We had to throw out food from the freezer. We were not given a code to access the key to the carriage house. Had to contact management company in order to get that code. (Thank goodness it was before 5:00 pm). The walk to the beach was shorter than described and quite pleasant. The neighborhood is beautiful.

Reviewer Comments: The house was good, the furnishings, bedding and decor was cheep, but house itself very nice and there was enough kitchen supplies for cooking. Loved the quiet pretty neighborhood. Could not use the top bunk unless you have a child under 100 pounds, so we could not use it. Pool rules ridiculous that a big 4 year old has to wear a diaper in the pool and we were there a week and the pool restaurant was NEVER open selling food. We did go to the pizza place and it was great. Easy access to the door code. The house was very clean with towels tied up nice, although outside porches were full of pollen and dust and no clean places to sit. Good parking access for 2 cars, maybe 3. The rental co. called once when we were out shopping to tell us that we only had 15 minutes to remove the towels from the front porch or we would get a fine! I had no idea it was against the rules as I look back through the paperwork and still do not see it written anywhere in the paperwork. Maybe instead of a threatening 15 min fine call, a call to remove them when we had a chance would have been nice of them so we did not have to cut our shopping trip short and rush back and take the towels off the metal bar (that we thought was put up for towels, what else would the bar on top of the railing be for?). Also, there was no code listed for the gate house lock box in the paperwork, so we sat outside trying to call someone before I finally guessed the code, then later they responded with a text with the code. The only other thing is that they need 2 outside trashcans, 1 is just not big enough for a large party. I absolutely loved the small carriage house, it was perfect for one or two people, had a full small kitchen with tiny dishwasher, tiny refrigerator, tiny oven and all. Overall it was a great week and we would definitely stay in the neighborhood again, not necessarily in this house.

The house was very "worn" and in need of upgrades to the kitchen and common areas primarily. Cooking pots and pans were terrible. Furniture in living areas was uncomfortable, poorly laid out and not appealing at all. Outdoor BBQ area and chairs were terribly dirty and we had to clean them all in order to use them.Swell (management co) did not give the gate our information in order to access the unit. Several calls were necessary to get onto the property - not just for us, but for all those in our party.
