Overview

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Bunk Area, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6), Wireless Internet

Come enjoy a beautiful vacation resort surrounded by rich sporting activities, a tranquil desert sanctuary, and a rich pioneer history that rests far from the bustle of everyday life. St. George is located deep in the heart of Utah’s Dixie country, a region of monumental wonders and red rock brushed with sun-perfected colors.

Many creatures and cultures have left their mark on the region—but it is the slow erosion of sandstone that has created the most remarkable imprint. Hike the canyon trails of Zion National Park, walk in the footsteps of the dinosaurs at the Johnson’s Farm archeological site, or spend the day exploring Anasazi petroglyphs. Two and a half hours driving will take you to the sculpted stone of Bryce Canyon.

St. George is the gateway to Zion National Park and within easy driving distance to the Grand Canyon, Bryce National Park and several other natural and beautiful phenomena. St. George has fine shopping, dining delights, hiking, biking, and fresh air all within reach!

Night-time entertainment includes live musical 'Broadway in the desert' at the famous Tuacahn. Mesquite, Nevada is a short 40 minute drive or, if you prefer, Las Vegas is just 90 minutes away.

This condo is sure to delight you. Located on a small plateau in Green Valley, this one bedroom with private patio adjacent to the clubhouse and excellent Sports Village facilities make this a perfect get-away.

Sports Village has two large swimming pools (one for adults), two hot tubs, and one kiddie pool. Pools are heated for year-round enjoyment. Tennis and racquetball courts with equipment are available free of charge. The clubhouse has free WiFi, an exercise room, pool table, public computer (with internet access), miniature golf, foosball, and ping-pong. Sand volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard, and a children’s playground are also available.

A good layout, but very run down

  • 3 of 5

We loved staying in Sports Village and would stay there again, but not in this apartment. The space itself was more than adequate for a family of 6. It was larger than a hotel room and had laundry and large pool, just what we needed since we spent very little time at the room itself. The recliners and fold out bed are new and were surprisingly comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds in the closet--a great hideaway. The quirky air conditioning situation noted by other guests (no vent in bedroom, requiring you to leave the bedroom door open) wasn't an issue. We stayed plenty cool in 110 degree weather.

That said, however, there were 3 things that would prevent me from staying here again: 1) The carpet was filthy, with a track worn right down the middle of each room in the main traffic path around beds and doorways. I refused to walk on it barefoot. 2) The kitchen was all but unusable for cooking, stocked only with a few dull knives, no cooking utensils, and a hodge podge of cookware. We managed with cereal and toast for breakfast and sandwiches and fruit for lunch, but there was no way we were cooking dinner there. We went out instead. 3) Lastly--and this was the last straw--the bathroom smelled of mildew and stale urine. It was poorly vented and probably has been since construction, meaning it hasn't dried out properly since it was built in 1984. The smell assaulted my nose every time I walked in. Although the tile has been updated, the bathtub and toilet are in need of repair.

Honestly, I could handle wearing shoes and even plan ahead to bring the cooking items I need, but there's nothing to be done about that bathroom. I took a chance on this place but I won't be coming back. When you read through reviews notice that everyone says it's great "for the price." In short, the place sports new-ish furniture and decor but has not had new carpet in ages and has not had a kitchen or bath remodel in 30+ years. I won't argue that this apartment is better value than a similarly priced motel room; however, I'm willing to pay a bit more for a place that is thoroughly updated and better maintained.

It was very homie and comfortable.

Just wish they had better water pressure in kitchen sink and mixing bowls and can opener. We also had problems with toilet flushing you would have to wait 30 Minutes before someone could use it again becasuse of pressure. And no maintenance worker on duty when we were there said on vacation.

Had no problems with this cozy spot in St. George. Easily shuttled back and forth from here to Zion National Park the couple days we stayed here

Definitely worth what we paid

  • 4 of 5

We decided to go with a middle of the road unit. Not the most expensive or the cheapest but right in the middle. I was glad we did. It had enough amenities to make it fun but cheap enough to make it affordable. We loved the pool and the fitness area. We also loved the mini golf and pool table. It was good to have activities for all our age groups. The unit itself was nice but I can see how it will be hot in the summer. The ac doesn't have vents in the master. Not a big deal if you leave the door open but having a family it's nice to close the door to kids at night. Everything was really clean with the exception of the tub having some hair left in it. I think this is more a function of the cleaners or the last renters though. All in all a good place to stay. I'd come back!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are planning on adding HVAC vents into the bedroom soon. I will also let my cleaning company know about the hair to ensure it does not happen in the future.
