Great property for a wine weekend or even a long term stay. The hosts are easy to communicate with and have many suggestions about the local area.

Robin was great to work with, the property was as advertised and prepped beautifully. Robins communications was great. Train at night is a thing. Did disturb our sleep several times during the night. Temp control was discussed with Robin prior. Would suggest a daytime temp and agreed upon night time temp. Got a little warm at night for sleeping. Would stay again here and suggest the property to others.

Chapman on the Rail is an adorable place to stay with nearly all the comforts of your own home from bath products to any kind of coffee or creamer you could imagine. The space was incredibly clean, well maintained, comfortable, and check-in was easy. As others have noted, you are right on the railroad tracks. The first night there were hardly any trains, but Friday and Saturday was a different story. It wasn't too disruptive, though. You are about a 1.5-hour drive from Shenandoah NP, 2 hours from Washington, D.C., and 30-40 minutes from several local wineries. I visited both Barboursville and Chateau Merrillanne while there. Main Street Tavern is right around the corner, and the food was excellent. I would definitely stay here again!

Robin is a fabulous host, and this VRBO truly says, “We want our guests to be well taken care of!” Communication was easy from the day we requested to book until check-out, and she was extremely responsive. Chapman on the Rail is one of the best VRBOs we’ve stayed at. Parking is a breeze right outside the front steps, and from the moment you approach the upstairs porch, you know you’re in for a treat. The home has everything you could want or need—Robin has thought of every detail.Orange is a convenient location near Barboursville and Gordonsville. We spent the day at Barboursville Vineyards, checked in to Chapman on the Rail, and then headed to Pres de Pres in Gordonsville for dinner—all easily accessible from Orange. If you’re looking for an easy, relaxing, and comfortable stay, you should definitely consider booking Chapman on the Rail.
