LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: Located directly in the village, you can walk to everything -- the pier, restaurants, shops, etc -- including the new ocean-front public water pool and water park (see photo #2 for birds eye view of location).

THE HOUSE: So, just what kind of a house is it? Well, this is the e-mail I received from the guest from April of 2015: "I am so excited that I can hardly stand it. I have traveled all over the world. To exotic places. And never ever have I been as pleased or felt more excited than I did today pulling into your lovely beach cottage. You have poured your heart and soul into this place and it shows. Perfect everything.“ "The house was absolutely wonderful - all of us loved it and hated to leave! From the porches to the wall decorations (you could be there years before examining them all!) to the well-appointed kitchen and the fenced in yard, it was perfect."

HISTORICAL: Beachview House was built in 1892 on Cumberland Island as three cottages. In 1923, it was floated down the Atlantic and reassembled in its present location as one cottage -- back then it was called the Gramling Cottage after the family that owned it the 1920's. By the time it was started to be restored, it was so overgrown, that many folks didn't even know there was a cottage on the property. It is blessed with a fabulous location - less than a block to the water and yet being INCREDIBLY close to town, in the middle of everything - The house retains much of its historic charm - original hardwood flooring - great beadboard walls - even the original claw foot tub! It is furnished with many comfortable antiques and high quality upholstery - but it is designed to be a place to put your feet up and relax to the pace of life that is St. Simons Island.

About The Owner

We have owned multiple high end vacation rentals (VRBO #1782, #34444, #93225, #125959, #226904, #232445, #487661, #764962), for over 19 years and have tried to incorporate all our experiences into our rentals. Our philosophy is that we want guests to feel like they are staying in the well-appointed vacation home of an absent friend.

Location, Location, Location. The location can simply not be beat. You are in the heart of the St. Simons Island village area (see photo #2), and can walk to everything. Sit on the porch, relax, enjoy the day, and just people watch.

This house is amazing!! I have never been more at home and more relaxed in a house when on vacation. This house has everything you could possibly need or want. Super Clean!! Big Plus!! Has its own private parking spots- super convenient. Close to everything- we parked our car and walked everywhere the entire week. Enjoyed front porch and people watching. I cannot tell you enough how special this house really is. I have already claimed it for July 4th 2106. Thanks to the owners who are extremely wonderful people to work with. I give this beautiful place a 10+ rating.

Quaint Victorian Cottage

A wonderful Victorian Cottage located in the hub of the Village. We could walk to the shops local attractions and restaurants. The Cottage was nicely furnished in Period Furniture, Great Front Porch, comfy Feather beds, lots of towels and a loaded Kitchen .

The Island is Beautiful with Huge trees covered with moss and Vines, I was waiting for Tarzan to swing out of the trees. Lots to do and see. We stayed a week, Yes we would go again.

Our home away from home!

Beachview is our go to place. It has it all: ideal location, right in the heart of St. Simon's Village, walking distance to beach, pier, park, library, shops, and restaurants; pet friendly, fenced yard, most well-equipped and best maintained rental we have ever used. We have been visiting St. Simon's for a number of years and we plan our trips around the availability of the house because if we can't stay at Beachview House, it's not any fun going. It is a great location for our family members to meet us. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. One of our favorite times to go is Christmas week. A beach-themed Christmas tree is put up making the house feel like a home.

The owners treat you like family. They are very accommodating, going all out to make our stay stress-free. The house has so many homey touches like books, games, and videos. Information guides all about sightseeing, restaurants ( with actual menus), house and island histories are provided. High speed, wireless internet connection is included for we "geeks" that can't quite go without access to some technology.

We love the way our dogs are provided for as well. They have their own sheets, beach towels, and food and water bowls. Needless to say, we love St. Simon's and especially the Beachview. We recommend you try it and we guarantee you will keep coming back!

a vacation gem!

We spent a wonderful week at this beach house. Our family enjoyed all of its cozy features. We sat on the front porch and felt the breeze from the water and played games in the family room. The location was ideal. Close to restaurants, the pier and beautiful beaches. The well-equipped kitchen made cooking a breeze. We have many fond memories from our stay and would love to go back. Thanks for giving us a vacation to remember!

Perfect Location

Our visit to this cottage was wonderful. Very clean throughout! Kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need........the bedrooms were very nice and comfortable...for the ladies! We are all under 5'5......however our husbands who are 6'4, 6'1 and 6'0 could have been more comfortable in a bigger bed. The beds were very comfortable however. Over all it was a wonderful...we could walk to everything. The location is perfect. Loved the front porch where we would sit with a glass of wine in the evening. We had our two yorkies and a small lab....the also loved the fenced in area. Would recommend this to anyone with pets, small children ....

I totally , completely understand...My husband Jerry is 6" 4' as well, and would love a king--- but because of the nature of the historic home with cottage sized rooms, I have not yet figured out how to get a king sized bed in there yet--- only as big as a queen... but I will continue to try and come up with a creative solution-- I really have been trying to figure that out:>) Thanks again and please come visit us again soon! ***UPDATE 10/09/2015-- We have figured out how to get a king in the back yellow bedroom! Yeah! Since it is an historic cottage, the rest of the rooms just aren't large enough for a king, but for all out there who need it - like my 6'4" husband- we do now have a king!:>)

True Southern Hospitality

Location, location, location!! This is a classic Southern beach house, big and beautiful, clean and comfortable. Not fussy, so you can relax without worrying but so cozy and charming. Bedrooms are each with their own bathroom and TV if you like. Each room is decorated with a different personality, and all so pretty. Linens are beautiful and even feather bed toppers so you will sleep like an angel...such comfortable pillows, yesssss, I said comfortable pillows!! There is even an original claw footed tub in the prettiest mint green bathroom. Every need is thought of and it's all very easy to navigate as Carol has labeled everything so that you can easily find what you need. Special soaps and lotions even a dental kit just in case you forgot yours; spa robes provided. The front porch is a classic Southern porch with loungers, rockers and ceiling fans to keep the no-see-'ems away and one side is screened so you can eat your lunch or dinner out there if you like. It is all in good repair and is exactly like the pictures that you see here, (no unhappy surprises), you can book with confidence. If you should need anything Carol is easily reached, but I found that once I settled in, it was all layed out so beautifully that it was like my own home, verrry easy place to be.

I loved this place and so did my dogs who became superstars in the village. Walking along the shore every morning and evening and being a part of everything that makes St.Simons the crown jewel of the Golden Isles. Absolutely hated to leave, but we will definately be back and recommend Beachview House to everyone I know.
