Nestled in the hills above Lake Chelan in the heart of the orchards and wine country, our vacation home has sweeping views of Lake Chelan, the mountains, Roses Lake and many wineries. It features 3+ bedrooms and 3 baths and it is a perfect place for a family reunion or a two family rental. There is plenty of room to park your boat or RV!

Eat breakfast or dinner while enjoying the view on deck which stretches the entire length of the back of the house. Enjoy 4.12 acres tucked in between vineyards and orchards. There is a large grassy play area for all sorts of family fun. It is a short walk down the road to Hard Row to Hoe winery, a “Best of Washington” 2010 nominee. Take the 15 mile scenic loop tour (car or bike) of the wineries and then head back to relax in your hut tub. It is just minutes from the Manson Bay Beach & Marina, the only beach on the entire lake with a lifeguard on duty.

The main level has a gourmet chef’s kitchen with granite counter tops and a Viking range; the breakfast bar makes it a perfect space for entertaining and gathering at the end of the day. Your dining room table will seat all of your guests. The living, dining and kitchen all open up onto the fabulous deck. There are 2 bedrooms and a beautiful updated bathroom with glass block. The wood ceilings and a wood burning fireplace make for a cozy place to hang out in the winter time.

The lower level features another 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and a fireplace. Each of the bedrooms has its own sitting area and is equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. This space is great for multiple family rentals.

Whether you are here for the summer or winter the possibilities for fun are endless. In the summer after spending a day on the lake water skiing, fishing, parasailing etc. come back to relax with a game of volleyball, croquet, horse shoes, badminton, or slip & slide. Want to get in a little gambling or go to a concert? It is less than a mile to Mill Bay Casino. You can check out the summer concert series on their website. You can stroll through the Manson Farmer’s Market on Wednesday or Saturday to sample the local produce. If you have a boat, you can either launch or rent a slip at the Manson Bay Marina for your stay. There are also boat rentals available for the week day or hour.

In the winter, you have the perfect sledding/tubing hill. You never have to leave the house for all sorts of winter fun. You are just a short drive to two different ski resorts or Roses Lake is known for its winter ice fishing! There are snow mobile rentals, Oktoberfest at Leavenworth Bavarian Village, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and much much more.

About Kit MacPherson

The Halverson Family bought this home in June of 2011. We immediately fell in love with the serenity and beauty of the property and felt it was a place our family could enjoy for many years to come.

Kit MacPherson purchased this house in 2011

Why Kit MacPherson chose Lake Chelan

The location of this property immediately drew us to the lake and the mountains. The home was originally built for Ivan and Velma Morse to retire to. They placed the house perfectly into the hillside and planted beautiful gardens to compliment the home. When Velma moved, the home was purchased and run as a Bed and Breakfast. This gave us the perfect set up to have multiple families come and visit.

What makes this house unique

Nestled in the hills overlooking Lake Chelan, our home offers a place where the entire family can enjoy, playing, reading, BBQ'ing, relaxing or just taking in the breathtaking scenery of the lake and mountains. It offers year round entertainment, whether you like to cross country ski, sled or go boating in the summer. There are few places as beautiful.

This house was absolutely beautiful! The deck was heaven to sit out on and relax with family and friends we loved the gazebo with the chandelier. The only down side was that the heat pump went out the 2nd night and it was 86-92• inside while it was 100-97 outside. Utube saved the last night:) I would most definitely go back to this home now that we know what to do if it happens again because sometimes stuff happens and part of this was our fault for not calling for help earlier. The owner was most gracious and was all over it once we made her aware. I would be willing to give this house a second, third, fourth and many more chances!! It's fantastic for 3 yrs- olds to 60+ yr olds:)

Rural Getaway

  • 5 of 5

11 of my family members gathered this October for a weekend get together. The daylight basement was perfect for my daughter, son in law, their standard poodle and 6 and 9 year old sons. In another part of the basement my husband and I had our own Bath, TV area and bedroom. There are 2 other bedrooms upstairs.

. The adults spent time on the spacious deck while the boys climbed a tree and ran crazy on the spacious lawn. If they had brought their bikes they could have ridden on the circular driveway.

There are NO close neighbors - lots of privacy. We ate out mostly but I did use the Viking gas stove once and it was a treat.

When snow comes the lawn or the driveway will be perfect for young ones to sled on.

Beyond beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This house has it all - plenty of space for 8 of us, the hot tub was fantastic, the yard was in perfect shape for lawn games and hanging out, the deck is where we ate & drank & got caught up with old friends because the view is awe inspiring! We enjoyed being so close to 2 incredible wineries to end the day on our way home. The only suggestion we would make is that they note on the listing that there have been cats present, I think the owner must bring theirs regularly. 2 of our guests were popping allergy pills all weekend but it didn't slow us down!

Owner's Response: Thanks Danielle -- we enjoy the view and wineries too! No cats though, our listing says we don't allow cats. As far as I know, there has never been a cat in the house since we remodeled it in 2010. We do allow dogs, so maybe your guest is allergic to dogs. Hope you come and enjoy again!

end of April 2014 / girls getaway

The Morse House is awesome! The views are beyond spectacular and the house itself is lovely. Even better, it's walking distance from a fun winery. I hope to stay here again in the future and would most certainly recommend this house to others.

Spacious, clean home with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect house and way more space than we needed. The property surrounding the house was filled with apple orchards and provided great views. Plus it was nice being close to Manson and Lake Chelan and there is a winery within walkign distance!!

Dreaming of a White Christmas!

  • 5 of 5

We recently celebrated Christmas in this beautiful home! The views at this quiet, comfortable house are amazing. It even started snowing shortly after we arrived :) The kids loved running around on the property. The adults loved going wine tasting at the numerous wineries in the area. The attention to detail was very much appreciated--from the Merry Christmas sign in the entry, to the candy canes, and the lights above the fireplace and outside on the house. We had a wonderful vacation in this lovely home!
