The Malibu Retreat is a luxurious boho chic private destination resort or home base perfect for families & friends to gather & reconnect with each other in nature. Nestled between Malibu & Calabasas Monte Nido is exclusive, yet close to all. Our Indoor, outdoor spaces boast breathtaking views, natural salt pool, jacuzzi,yoga deck, fresh air & hiking trails. Across from the Saddle Peak Lodge & near Pepperdine. Gourmet kitchen, luxury beds & linens, fireplaces, fast wifi (add Guest House for more space).
The Malibu Retreat is an award-winning 3 acre unique property that’s surrounded by 10,000 acres of Malibu parkland. Our private natural bottom pool & jacuzzi on a new Salt system makes smooth clear water without chlorine! Nestled between Malibu & Calabasas (5 miles each way). The neighborhood of Monte Nido is home to some of the most influential families on the planet.
Walk across the street to the legendary Saddle Peak Lodge for dinner or brunch! Plus people enjoy reconnecting w/ nature, fresh air, hiking trails, ocean breezes & clear night skies. Close to Pepperdine University.

The Main Estate is a Mediterranean style home w/ 4 very large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 balconies, 3 fireplaces, a conversation pit, gourmet chef’s kitchen, home office, tiled outdoor living room w/ Positano benches, fountains, beautiful pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, yoga deck, & stainless steel Weber BBQ.
The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with top quality customized w/ hand crafted limestone countertops, Viking double oven 6 burner range & griddle, Sub-zero refrigerator, double desks, slate floors, colorful Anne Saks hand blown accent tiles & bar stools. It is quickly becomes a primary hang out space for the family to surround whoever is cooking & folks can eat in the kitchen & enjoy views of the mountains, outdoor living spaces, the yoga deck w/ ping pong table & Edison lights, Weber BBQ, lush lawn & majestic Oak trees- all surrounded by 10,000 acres of parkland.
The house also have several living rooms in addition to the standard one, a 70s inspired conversation pit w/ Anthropologie day beds & Moroccan pillows, fireplace (1 of 3 in the house), a Zen Den meditation room / home office w/ pottery barn corner desk, wireless printer, files, hook ups for work screens & blazing fast Internet.
Upstairs has 3 bedrooms (all with 100% cotton luxury linens & down duvets):
1) Shabby Chic Master Bedroom is extra large w/ a private balcony, breathtaking mountain views, private ensuite bath w/ tumbled marble Ann Sax tiles, multi-jet steam shower, Toto bidet heated toilet, Kohler faucets, double vessel sinks, fireplace, brand new luxury king latex mattress, it’s own mini frig & a wall mounted flat screen smart TV too.
2) The Anthropologie Family Suite is a large & colorful room w/ 2 Queen beds downstairs & 4 twins (bunk beds) hidden in its loft. It sleeps 8 easily & shares both a balcony & bath w/ the Santana bedroom. With its lovely walls, closet, bureau & Smart TV too.
3) Santana Suite is aptly names for 1 of the signed guitars which adjourns its musical walls. This cool room has a comfortable new king bed, bureau, desk,
Closet & shares it’s balcony & bath w/ the Anthropologie Suite.
Bedrooms 2 & 3 share a balcony with views & a custom handcrafted hand tiled bathroom w/ a shower bathtub & TWO sinks/ vanities (1 sink is outside the bathroom so multiple people can “get ready” at the same time).
Downstairs is home to the 4th bedroom: the Hawaiian Room- which has its own private patio, Queen bed & is across the hall from the House Of Blues bathroom. It’s between the home living room & zen den.
The downstairs bathroom is fun & it’s mosaic tiled walls & colors were inspired by the “House of Blues” with a splash of “Wolfgang Puck”. It’s got a walk-in tiled shower, heated bidet toilet & cobalt blue glass vessel sink.
Down the hall, guests will find one of the property’s living rooms. This one is complete w/ a 55 inch smart TV, another wood burning fireplace, custom shabby chic couch, Sixpenny daybed & comfy chairs w/ pool & mtn views.
The laundry room has smart new Washer & Dryer w/ steam functions.
Most downstairs rooms open to the outdoors easily. It’s a very fluid inside / outside type of house that was designed for comfortable, easy real living, while maintaining its high quality luxury & unique design. The downstairs floors are authentic Saltillo tiled floors & wood. The upstairs has more modern wood floors with area rugs.
Outdoor spaces include:
-Multi-Level Mediterranean Patio, outdoor living room surrounded by stunning mountain views, handcrafted benches from Positano Italy, gas-fueled Weber BBQ, a private propane Fire pit, perfectly tuned wind-chimes, hardwired Bluetooth enabled Bose speakers (indoor, outdoor) & water fountains.
-the Natural Bottom Salt Pool & jacuzzi is shared between the main house & the guest house (Either of which can be heated for extra $), surrounded by palm trees, indigenous boulders & a natural gas fire pit. Complete with comfy Big Joe bean bag floats, many lounge chairs, a covered Day Bed for afternoon naps, a hammock & more outdoor dining options
-Protected oak grove & whimsical woods surround & the house & lower lot
-900 Square Foot Wood Zen Yoga Deck with Buddhas, Bamboo, roses, bougainvillea, yoga mats & blocks & a ping pong table too!
-Large 7000 sq ft lush lawn with Mountain Views, a private daybed & hammock for lazy days & front row view of amazing wildlife (deer, mountain lions, bobcats!?)
-2 large driveways w/ plenty of parking
This listing is for the Main Estate house only. There is a Guest House on the property as well, which could be available if you’d like to sleep more people or if you’d like to book the entire 3 acre property for your use. The driveway & pool/jacuzzi area are the only shared spaces w/ the Guest House.
With this booking, guests will have use of the entire estate, except for the Music Promoter Guest House (which can be added to your booking for extra space and/or exclusive use of the shared spaces).
Please note: both the driveway & pool/jacuzzi areas are shared spaces between Main Estate & Guest House. Courteous & respectful behavior govern these common areas (Ie no nudity, loud late music etc)

Admirably located right between Calabasas & Malibu in the exclusive neighborhood of Monte Nido, our property offers a Bohemian Chic space with many spots to explore and hang out. The property backs up to 10,000 acres of the Santa Monica Mountain Range parkland. With stunning mountain views from our natural rock, dark bottom heated pool and jacuzzi, or outdoor infinity Yoga deck, guests can enjoy tranquility while being only 5 miles from Malibu and 5 miles from Calabasas. Walk to many hiking trails, parks and even one of LA`s top restaurants is at the bottom of our driveway - The Saddle Peak Lodge.
We definitely suggest a car although guest CAN walk to Saddle Peak Lodge & Backbone Trail.
*Pool and jacuzzi can be heated for an extra fee.
*Once booked , we issue a direct lease w/ all of our guests which will require a 3-5k direct security deposit. This is fully refundable within 15 days of departure (provided all is well). Details outlined in lease.
*For Liability Purposes, only registered guests are permitted on property- so if you plan to have company or any sort of gathering, party etc we must include these details in your lease.
*If you’d like to bring a dog, please ask & we’ll do our best to accommodate. There may be an extra charge & security deposit, both of which will be included in your lease.
*There is proper bedding for 12 currently in Main House, but more can be added. There is also a Guest House on the property. For Liability Purposes, ONLY registered guests are permitted on property at any time.
*While we DO allow for some select parties, special events, filming, photo shoots or weddings, those are a different type of booking & must be priced & contracted accordingly. All must be in compliance w/ local & state laws. The extra costs for any gatherings /events or professional uses can range from 3k to 50k, in addition to this overnight booking. If you’d like information on any type of event or gathering- please send an inquiry w/ these details in your request: date(s), event times (be sure to include the time to set up before & clean up after) & total number of people you want to have on property, including all guests, vendors, staff etc.
Once we confirm here, we’ll issue a direct lease with our guest which we need to execute within 72 hours. It requires a direct security deposit of 3-5k, which is full refundable if there are no problems.
Heating of the pool or jacuzzi require additional costs & must be booked 48 hours in advance.
While professional filming & photography is permitted, there WILL be extra charges based on the production which must be outlined in advance and included in your lease.
If you’d like to bring your furry friend, it’s ok, but advance approval is needed.
Only registered guests can be on property, so be sure to include the correct number in your booking (even if they’re not sleeping over). If you’d like to have more guests or host a gathering (or wedding, retreat, production, photo shoot etc) those are priced differently & we need to contract & sorted out those details in advance.
The Main House accommodates 12 people, but we also have a Guest House on property which can accommodate 8 more. Ask us for details if you’d like to have up to 24 people on site.
